Chapter 171: Another Mission

Solomon stood perfectly still as the staggering number echoed in his mind.

[GoonLord: THIRTY THOUSAND GOLD COINS?!]

[Fatal_Beauty: HE IS RICH!]

[Stephen-Wood: that is ten years of salary for a C-rank adventurer!]

[Chi_Master: Solo Man is set for life.]

[M00N: do not sell it! it might be a legendary item!]

[IceWaterKat: sell it and buy the best gear in the world!]

[James_hayes: bro hit the jackpot on day one.]

Even Professor Balzac leaned back into the frame. He stopped chewing his potato chips and stared at the screen with wide eyes, clearly surprised by the sheer amount of wealth attached to a first-year student.

’Thirty thousand gold coins could buy a fortress,’ Solomon thought. ’But I have enough stream points to buy basic supplies. Giving away an item with that much elemental density just for gold seems like a foolish trade.’

Solomon looked directly at the Grandmaster. "I do not want to sell it. I am not in any desperate need of money right now. I will keep the orb."

The Grandmaster nodded in understanding. "A wise decision. True treasures are far more valuable than standard currency. I will inform the Vanguard Exchange and have them return the orb to my secure vault. You may collect it whenever you return to the academy."

"I appreciate that," Solomon said.

Balzac shoved another handful of chips into his mouth before the crystal screen faded to black, leaving Solomon alone in the quiet technomagic room.

Solomon glanced around the dim room. Glowing Eastern runes powered interlocking brass gears and steam vents. The advanced mechanical design completely fascinated him. He pushed the heavy iron door open and hiked back down the overgrown mountain trail.

Reaching the VIP training grounds, he found his four designated students already swinging their wooden practice swords. A fifth person stood among them. Yue Alfoy, the peach-haired girl from the previous night, twirled a jade fan between her fingers.

"Are you finally ready to go with me?" Yue asked, smiling brightly as Solomon approached.

"I have a strict mission to complete right now," Solomon responded, resting his greatsword against the cobblestones. "I cannot abandon my students."

Yue snapped her fan shut. "You can simply take the four of them with us. They can easily practice their forms on the road."

Solomon narrowed his eyes and crossed his arms. "I am not interested in going with you at all. I need to focus on this."

Yue sighed and tapped the closed fan against her chin. "That is perfectly fine then. I originally thought I would give you a mission for an academy star."

Solomon froze. He tilted his head in pure confusion. "What do you mean by that? Are you not just a student here?"

Marco stopped his practice swing and looked at the ground.

"I am Yue Alfoy," the girl announced, lifting her chin. "I am the Tenth Pavilion Master of the Azure Dragon Sect."

Solomon dropped his arms to his sides. A rare wave of nervousness washed over him. He had just bluntly rejected one of the highest authorities in the entire sect.

’I can definitely earn two stars at once if I play this right,’ Solomon calculated, instantly burying his pride.

"I am completely ready for your mission," Solomon declared with a bright, welcoming grin. "We can leave whenever you want."

[1Fizzy: THE INSTANT 180!]

[James_hayes: bro folded immediately for the star.]

[Fatal_Beauty: the disrespect vanished into thin air.]

[Chi_Master: Solo Man is a shameless star farmer.]

[Austin: the quickest change of heart.]

Yue laughed and gestured toward the courtyard exit. "That is wonderful. Pack your bags and meet me at the mountain gates. We will leave right after lunch."

Solomon turned to his four students and relayed the new plan. Elizabeth immediately crossed her arms. She puffed her cheeks out and glared at him.

"You are not taking our training seriously at all," Elizabeth complained, gripping the hilt of her rapier. "We only have two weeks to master a technique that takes months. Going on a random trip completely wastes our time."

"I will make sure all of you learn the Azure Crane Blade within the deadline," Solomon promised, looking directly into her red eyes. "Just trust the process."

They spent the remainder of the morning practicing the initial deflection arcs. After a quick lunch in the dining hall, the group gathered their supplies and climbed down the steep mountain stairs. Reaching the bustling dirt roads of Tianfeng City, Yue rented a spacious, enclosed wooden carriage pulled by two massive spirit beasts.

The six of them piled into the carriage. Solomon sat near the window and looked across the cabin at the peach-haired pavilion master.

"Where exactly are we going?" Solomon asked.

"We are traveling to the Azure Moon Kingdom," Yue replied, resting her fan on her lap. "It is a neighboring territory."

As the carriage rolled out of the city gates, Solomon turned his attention to his four students. He decided to utilize the travel time productively.

"Listen carefully," Solomon instructed, holding up a single finger. "The Azure Crane Blade relies on shifting your center of gravity. Most beginners plant their back foot too firmly during the third transition. You need to keep your ankle flexible. The kinetic energy must travel up your calf, through your hips, and directly into your wrists without losing momentum."

He continued breaking down the mechanics of the first six steps using plain, easily digestible logic. He stripped away the poetic metaphors about flying birds and rushing waterfalls. He simply explained the physics of human anatomy and weight distribution.

Yue widened her eyes and leaned forward on her cushioned seat. She listened to his flawless breakdown with genuine shock.

"You are incredibly good at teaching," Yue commented, staring at the silver-haired boy. "Where did you learn to comprehend the technique so easily? Your explanation makes it so simple. It is significantly better than the official sect guidelines. I now understand why you are so good at fighting also. You can comprehend anything easily."

[Mezz_3863: Solo Man rewriting the textbook again.]

[Foodball: bro is the best teacher in the realm.]

[Stephen-Wood: Elizabeth is actually taking notes right now.]

[M00N: he just understands pure violence.]

[IceWaterKat: Yue is impressed.]

[Dark_Skies: the grandmasters are getting outclassed by a teenager.]

"I just understand how muscles work," Solomon shrugged, glancing out the window. "If you know how a body breaks, you also know how it is supposed to move."

It was all thanks to the Paladin who had taught him everything he knew and passed down his experience as a knowledge to Solomon. After all, it was the foundation of every sword arts.
