Feng marched across the manicured lawn. He pointed his gauntlet directly at Solomon, unable to contain his fury.
"You ignorant commoner!" Feng shouted, shattering the peaceful atmosphere. "How dare you trespass into the inner garden! A peasant like you lacks the right to even step foot here. You should not even be allowed to gaze upon Her Highness’s shadow! Step away from them immediately!"
Solomon kept his hands resting inside his pockets. He listened to the commander yell until the man ran out of breath. Turning his head back to Lune, Solomon offered a casual grin.
"This is the silver-collared clown I was telling you about," Solomon said, gesturing toward the red-faced commander.
[Fatal_Beauty: LMAO HE CALLED HIM A CLOWN!]
[Tyler_Klare: Solo Man does not care at all.]
[Stephen-Wood: the commander is going to pop a blood vessel.]

[Chi_Master: Elizabeth watching this like a hawk.]
Feng flushed a brilliant shade of purple. "You insolent—"
Lune took a step forward and placed herself directly between Solomon and the furious commander. She stood tall, her royal posture demanding immediate respect.
"Commander Feng. What is the meaning of this behavior?" Lune asked, her tone dropping to an icy chill. "How can you speak to a guest of this palace in such a vulgar manner?"
Feng lowered his hand and bowed his head slightly, trying to salvage his pride. "Your Highness, this boy is a dangerous, uneducated commoner. He disrespected Lord Jian in the discussion chamber just moments ago. He poses a threat to your safety."
"Who gave you the authority to dictate my company?" Lune asked, crossing her arms over her dark combat tunic.
"I was merely addressing him, Your Highness," Feng pleaded, gesturing toward the silver-haired boy. "I must protect you from low-born opportunists."
"I was the one who approached him," Lune corrected, locking her emerald eyes onto the commander. "I initiated the conversation."
Feng blinked in sheer disbelief. He stared at the golden-haired royal, unable to comprehend the situation. "Why would you do that? He is just a commoner."
"Because he is my savior and my friend," Lune declared.
[1Fizzy: OH MY GOD SHE SAID IT!]
[ZoomTech: the royal acknowledgement!]
[Mezz_3863: Feng is malfunctioning right now.]
[M00N: the commander is cooked.]
[Stinosaurus: bro got put in his place by a princess.]
[Foodball: W Lune.]
Feng stood frozen on the grass, his mouth hanging slightly open.
Lune did not give him a single second to recover. She folded her hands together and locked her emerald eyes directly onto the commander.
"Commander Feng, you march into a private royal garden, bypass the sentries, and bark at a guest like a rabid dog," Lune stated, her voice ringing clearly across the manicured lawn. "Is this the discipline the Azure Moon Kingdom instills in its highest officers?"
Feng opened his mouth to stammer an excuse. Lune stepped closer and forced him to step back.
"You mask your own incompetence by hurling insults at teenagers," Lune continued, her tone dropping to an icy chill. "True honor stems from martial merit and the blood you shed for your people. The silver collar wrapped around your neck means absolutely nothing without actual courage. A true commander leads with integrity. You act like a frightened tavern brawler lashing out at those you deem beneath you. It is pathetic. Leave our sight immediately."
Solomon leaned against the cherry blossom tree and watched the dressing down with a bright smile.
’She really knows how to cut someone down without drawing a blade,’ he thought, thoroughly enjoying the verbal execution happening right in front of him. ’I was ready to plaster my punch on his face if he got physical with me. Sadly I didn’t get a chance to provoke him as much. And if it wasn’t for Lune...’
Feng turned a pale shade of gray. He bowed his head in complete humiliation and scrambled backward, fleeing the garden to rejoin his guards in the corridor.
Princess Syra walked over from the marble bench. She glanced at the retreating commander and then looked at her distant cousin. "Is everything alright, Lune?"
"It is nothing worth our breath, Syra," Lune replied, uncrossing her arms.
Syra shifted her attention to Solomon. She studied his completely nonchalant posture. Leaning closer to Yue, Syra whispered something quietly into the pavilion master’s ear. Yue offered a knowing smirk and whispered a response behind her jade fan.
Lune frowned and planted her hands on her hips. "What are you two whispering about? Solomon does not like it when people talk about him behind his back."
Solomon raised an eyebrow. ’I could not care less what they say about me.’
"They are standing right in front of me," Solomon remarked, tapping his boots against the grass. "Technically, they are talking right in front of my face instead of my back."
Lune stepped into his personal space and delivered a playful nudge to his ribs with her elbow. "Just let me defend your honor, you idiot."
Over by the stone fountain, Elizabeth tightened her grip on the hilt of her steel rapier. She ground her teeth together and glared at the playful interaction, a deep frown completely taking over her features.
[Chi_Master: Elizabeth is fuming right now!]
[1Fizzy: the jealousy is off the charts.]
[Mezz_3863: Solo Man getting elbowed by a princess.]
[Tyler_Klare: bro has zero clue how to read the room.]
[Fatal_Beauty: Lune is so protective of him.]
Suddenly, a loud chime echoed directly inside Solomon’s head.
[System: GoonLord has issued a Direct Echo! Gifted 1 Golden Throne (2,000 Points).]
Message: "BRO YOU ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF A ROYAL WARZONE! ABORT MISSION AND DEPLOY TACTICAL RETREAT BEFORE SOMEONE GETS STABBED!"
Solomon listened to the panicked voice echoing in his mind. He completely ignored the vague tactical advice and simply gave the hovering bronze owl a cheerful thumbs-up.
[James_Hayes: bro didn’t get it at all.]
[IceWaterKat: RIP to bro.]
[GamerGuy: he will be missed.]
[Last_Fables: some die of thirst, while bro is drowning in it.]
