"I was not told about this," Solomon protested, trying to anchor his boots against the floorboards. "I have no idea how to dance."
"Just follow my lead and copy whatever I do," Lune instructed, refusing to let go of his sleeve. She gestured toward a passing servant wearing a dark mask. "Take his sword and keep it safe for the evening."
The masked servant stepped forward and unbuckled the heavy leather strap from Solomon’s chest, taking Eden’s Penance away.
It was Vera.
Lune pulled him directly onto the crowded stage where dozens of other couples were already spinning and changing pairs. She placed his hand on her waist and grabbed his other hand, stepping into the rhythm.
[1Fizzy: MATCHING OUTFITS!]
[James_hayes: bro is about to step on her toes so much.]
[Mezz_3863: Solo Man getting dragged to the dance floor.]
[Zoomtech: the princess made her move.]
[Foodball: W Lune.]
[PandoraLifeweaver: This is better than watching Solo Man fight!
They looked directly into each other’s eyes and began to sway to the music. The movements were incredibly awkward and entirely out of sync. Solomon frequently missed the tempo, but neither of them seemed to care about the clumsy footwork.
"I want to remind you that I am still incredibly angry at you for what you said at the hot spring," Lune whispered, keeping her gaze locked on his silver eyes.
[DrakenKorin: WHAT HAPPENED?! TELL US!]
[Ken_Getchell: RELEASE THE HOT SPRING FILES!]
[GoonLord: BRO YOU BETTER FESS UP EVERYTHING IF YOU DON’T WANT US TO GIVE YOU THOSE IMPOSSIBLE CHALLENGES AGAIN!]
"What you are feeling right now might not actually be what you are thinking," Solomon replied, attempting to lead her through a clumsy spin.
Lune narrowed her emerald eyes. "Are you telling me that my feelings for you are false?"
"I am not saying that," Solomon corrected gently, carefully guiding her through a slow turn. "But we do not know anything about each other. We only met a few weeks ago. This is not a fairy tale, princess, where the two meet and fall in love and get a happy ending where they live happily ever after."
"Those tales never show what happens to them after and the story ends when they get together. True relationships do not work like that. There are far too many other things we need to consider before rushing forward."
"I never asked for a relationship right now," Lune argued, matching his chaotic footwork. "I just wanted to get to know each other better. We can figure the rest of those complicated things out later. How else are we supposed to get to know each other? It’s not like I watch your streams or anything where I can learn everything about you."
Solomon shook his head. "Just because you think that does not make it true. You do not know what I like or hate. You do not know my favorite foods or drinks. You know nothing about my family or my friends. And I know absolutely nothing about you either."
He looked directly into her eyes, turning surprisingly serious. "Those are not trivial details that you can just ’figure out later.’ There are specific traits or habits someone might find disgusting, disturbing, or discouraging. The way we view the world might clash entirely."
He pulled her close as he said, "I believe two people should truly understand each other and learn those core truths before taking a step further, rather than regretting their choices later and completely ruining something that could have been beautiful."
[Tyler_Klare: bro is actually dropping solid relationship advice.]
[Fatal_Beauty: wait that makes so much sense.]
[M00N: Solo Man being mature for once.]
[MattMickyD: he really thought about this.]
[Frendscham: W logic.]
Lune frowned and stepped closer. "How would you even know all of that?"
"I already told you," Solomon reminded her, offering a wry smile. "I had a girlfriend once. I at least have some practical experience in how these things work and fall apart. She gave me a life lesson in relationships."
Lune clearly did not appreciate the mention of his ex. She deliberately brought her heel down, stepping hard onto his boot. She offered a perfectly innocent smile, making the strike look like an accidental misstep.
Solomon winced but kept his composure, fully aware the strike was deliberate.
"The real problem is that we will not get any chances to get to know each other," Lune confessed, a sudden wave of profound sadness washing over her features.
Solomon blinked in genuine confusion. "What are you talking about? Are you not attending the Azure Dragon Sect as an exchange disciple? I thought you were supposed to return to the sect and live in the pavilions with the rest of the students. You told me you were only staying at this palace temporarily for the royal sermon."
Lune nodded slowly, her emerald eyes reflecting the glowing crystal orbs above them. "That was the original plan. But my father, the Emperor, sent a royal decree with Sir Gideon. He has officially called me back to the Lumiere capital."
"Why?" Solomon asked, genuinely taken aback.
Lune gave him a deadpan stare. "Are you seriously asking me that as if you do not know the answer?"
Solomon processed the events of the past few days. "Is it because of everything happening right now in the Eastern Realms?"
Lune nodded, confirming his assumption. "My father received the intelligence reports regarding the massive cultist attack on the Azure Dragon Sect dormitories and the subsequent infiltration here at the palace. He ordered me to return to the Lumiere capital immediately until the situation across the Eastern Realms has been completely dealt with."
Solomon opened his mouth to say something to stop her, to ask her to stay. But the words died in his throat. He knew her departure was the best possible outcome for her safety, especially with her injured and unable to fight for herself.
’Well, even if that wasn’t the case. She wouldn’t be able to train either with her injured hand.’
What she said was an undeniable truth, backed by the absolute authority of an emperor’s decree. The current political climate in the Eastern Realms had descended into total chaos. The evil sect were actively hunting royal bloodlines.
Even back at the Azure Dragon Sect, numerous prominent noble and royal families had already pulled their heirs out of the pavilions, recalling their children to their fortified estates out of sheer paranoia.
The Live Streaming Academy had also issued a formal network notice, stating that any students currently assigned to the Martial World were free to abandon their practical classes and return directly to the main academy campus if they felt unsafe.
They offered free, immediate portal transit back to the safety of the academy grounds for anyone who wished to flee the escalating conflict
However, the total number of noble students enrolled at the LSA was incredibly small, and royals were even rarer, as they seldom accepted the academy’s invitations even when they were lucky enough to receive one.
The melodic song eventually ended, the final string notes echoing across the grand ballroom. The couples bowed to each other and began rotating off the marble floor.
Solomon and Lune stepped away from the crowded stage. They found a quiet spot near the marble colonnade, choosing to keep each other company in comfortable silence as they watched the next group of nobles take the floor.
