Solomon blinked, completely confused by her sudden outburst. However, the genuine bewilderment on his face only angered her further.
"What exactly were you thinking, trying to execute a forbidden art inside a moving carriage?!" Yue demanded, her grip tightening on his collar. "I explicitly warned you not to do it! I told you how dangerous and lethal the process was! Why would you act like a stupid, rebellious toddler who does the exact opposite of what he is told the second someone turns their back?!"
"I was just genuinely curious," Solomon responded calmly. "I wanted to see if it would actually work."
[M00N: bro let his intrusive thoughts win.]
[Zoomtech: curiosity almost killed the Solo Man.]
[Tyler_Klare: you cannot just test forbidden arts for fun!]
[MattMickyD: Yue is so mad lol.]
[Brerell: he really needs adult supervision.]
"This is not a toy! This is not something you casually experiment with on your own body!" Yue scolded, her voice echoing into the dark canopy. "This is a literal life-and-death matter! You bled from your ears and your heart completely stopped beating!"
Solomon frowned slightly. "Is that not exactly how martial training goes? You try a technique, you fail miserably, you suffer the consequences, and then you try harder and fail again until you eventually succeed."
"That logic only applies to basic physical conditioning and swinging a wooden sword!" Yue shot back. "It does not apply to spiritual cultivation! One single mistake during core expansion can permanently ruin your entire life!"
She let go of his collar and pointed a glowing, qi-infused finger directly at his left shoulder.
"Controlling internal energy is incredibly difficult. It takes standard disciples years of focused meditation just to learn how to guide their aura safely through their natural meridian pathways," Yue lectured, her tone turning dead serious. "One tiny mistake, one erratic surge of pressure, can completely destroy those delicate pathways. If you shatter this shoulder core, you permanently lose the ability to move your arms. If you rupture your hip cores, you become paralyzed from the waist down."
She lowered her hand. "If you destroy a core, it is fundamentally impossible to ever recover it. You become a permanent cripple, entirely unable to ever channel aura again. And that is only if you are lucky enough to survive the initial backlash without your internal organs exploding. Fixing a shattered core requires undergoing legendary body and bone refinement transformations, which are basically impossible to achieve in this era!"
[James_hayes: okay that actually sounds terrifying.]
[1Fizzy: Solo Man was playing with fire.]
[2Lazy2Care: please listen to her Solomon!]
[Frendscham: cultivation is no joke in this world.]
[Mezz_3863: bro almost paralyzed himself for a theory.]
[Kaolafiedgamer: Learning new things Solo Man’s stream everyday.]
Solomon finally grasped the sheer magnitude of his reckless gamble. He had treated his internal energy like a physical muscle, assuming his immortal heart would just patch up whatever he broke.
He hadn’t considered the possibility of permanent spiritual crippling.
"I apologize," Solomon muttered, genuinely contrite. "I honestly did not have much knowledge regarding how the spiritual pathways actually functioned. Perhaps you should have explained all of these catastrophic risks to me before I started poking around."
"I did explain it!" Yue argued, throwing her hands up. "I explicitly warned you it was a forbidden art that guaranteed an agonizing death!"
She let out a long, exhausted sigh and rubbed her temples. "All of these risks and safety protocols are the absolute basic rules taught to the first-year disciples upon entering my pavilion."
"I never got the chance to join your pavilion," Solomon pointed out quietly.
Yue finally calmed down, her shoulders slumping as the adrenaline faded.
’Even though I shouted at him, the entire situation still makes absolutely no sense,’ Yue thought to herself, stepping back from the tree. ’It is biologically and logically impossible for a cultivator to even attempt passing their aura through their physical heart. The body naturally rejects the intrusion. Unless someone consumes a highly toxic pill or a specialized poison that intentionally shuts down the body’s internal safety mechanisms, forcing the pathways open is impossible.’
She turned her attention back to the silver-haired boy. "Every single human body possesses automatic safety functions designed to keep you alive," Yue explained. "Just like how your breathing passage automatically closes when you swallow food to prevent you from choking, your spiritual meridians operate on similar failsafes."
She stepped closer as she continued, "The physical heart and the spiritual cores are entirely separate systems. Passing aura through the heart muscle is biologically impossible because there is absolutely no pathway connecting them. Even if you tried to force the energy through sheer willpower, the body’s safety mechanisms should have rejected the aura instantly to protect the organ."
Solomon listened intently, fascinated by the detailed biological breakdown.
After a brief pause, Yue narrowed her emerald eyes and studied his face. "Solomon, have you ever suffered from a severe heart condition? Have you undergone any kind of major surgery or sustained a fatal injury directly related to your heart?"
Solomon maintained a perfectly straight face. "No, I have not. My heart has always been perfectly fine."
He kept his expression neutral, but his mind raced with the terrifying realization. ’The heart currently beating inside my chest does not even belong to me,’ Solomon thought, resting a hand over his ribs. ’Vlad forcefully transplanted the immortal heart of that son of a bitch Uriel into my body. That divine organ operates on entirely different biological rules. That must be exactly why the human safety mechanisms failed to trigger, allowing me to force the aura inside.’
[Alpha_char: bro never missed his cardio.]
[Foodball: bro is built different.]
[Clayton: Yue is so suspicious right now.]
[Nick: his body has no restrictions!]
[Draken_Korin: The human body is so mysterious and amazing!]
Before Yue could press the medical interrogation any further, the sound of heavy boots crunching over dry leaves echoed through the dark woods. Gideon and Sir Kulbro emerged from the dense treeline, carrying two large, freshly hunted horned deers over their armored shoulders.
