Lord of Perverted Ladies

Chapter 141: Beyond the stars

The voice disappeared.

For one heartbeat, Alisster remained perfectly still.

Then the stars vanished.

Not hidden by clouds.

Vanished.

The blue sky above us became an endless black ocean, and every light in the city went out at once.

No streetlights.

No windows.

No traffic signals.

Nothing.

Only the faint outline of my mother and the Guardian remained visible across the street.

I stood up slowly.

"Mom."

She didn’t answer.

The Guardian did.

"Don’t call her yet."

Her voice was completely different from before.

No distortion.

No layered voices.

Just a calm, ordinary voice.

Almost gentle.

I stared at her.

"Your eyes changed."

"I know."

"Why?"

"Because I’m no longer hiding."

My father stepped in front of me.

"Stay away from him."

The Guardian looked at him.

"You’ve spent years doing that."

"Doing what?"

"Protecting him from the truth."

My father tightened his grip on his weapon.

"You don’t know anything about him."

The Guardian smiled.

"I know more than you."

I stepped around my father.

"Then tell me."

My mother immediately shook her head.

"Adrian, don’t."

I looked at her.

"Mom."

Her expression broke.

For the first time, I saw genuine fear in her eyes.

Not fear of me.

Fear for me.

"What is she?"

My mother looked toward the Guardian.

Then back at me.

"She is what I was before I became your mother."

I frowned.

"I don’t understand."

"You don’t need to."

"Yes, I do."

The Guardian walked toward us.

Every step she took caused the darkness above to ripple.

"You’ve been asking the wrong question."

I watched her carefully.

"What’s the right one?"

She smiled.

"Not what am I?"

She stopped a few meters away.

"But what was I before you existed?"

I felt something cold settle in my stomach.

"You existed before me?"

"Yes."

"Before the Origin?"

"Yes."

"Before reality?"

She nodded.

"Yes."

My father whispered,

"Impossible."

The Guardian looked at him.

"You should know better."

"You’re lying."

"I have no reason to."

She looked at me again.

"I existed before there was anything to remember."

I stared.

"Then what were you?"

She pointed toward the sky.

"Silence."

The word seemed to swallow the surrounding darkness.

"I was the absence of everything."

"Before the first question."

"Before the first thought."

"Before existence."

"Then the first question appeared."

I remembered the memory.

Why do I exist?

The question had created reality.

But if the Guardian existed before that...

Then there had been something before existence.

Silence.

The Guardian continued.

"And when your first question created reality..."

She touched her chest.

"...I became the thing outside it."

I couldn’t speak.

"The Origin wasn’t trying to stop you from waking up."

"No."

"It was trying to keep me out."

I looked toward the sky.

"Then why did it fail?"

The Guardian smiled.

"Because you opened the door."

My heart sank.

"The seven commands."

"Yes."

"You changed the Listener."

"Yes."

"You connected every reality."

"Yes."

"And that created a way for you to enter."

She nodded.

"Exactly."

Ryan stared at me.

"So... we accidentally invited the cosmic nightmare inside?"

"Basically."

"Great."

Noah elbowed him.

"Not helping."

"Wasn’t trying to."

I looked at the Guardian.

"Why didn’t you enter before?"

"You weren’t ready."

"Ready for what?"

"To hear the question."

I frowned.

"You said you wanted to ask me something."

"I do."

"What?"

She smiled.

Then she spoke.

"What would you create if nobody could ever remember it?"

The question hit me harder than expected.

I didn’t answer.

She continued.

"Everything you’ve ever created depended on observation."

"Your worlds needed witnesses."

"Your memories needed minds."

"Your stories needed readers."

"Your identity needed someone to remember your name."

"But imagine..."

She raised her hand.

"...a creation that exists even when nobody remembers it."

The darkness above us began forming shapes.

Stars.

Galaxies.

Worlds.

Then they disappeared.

One by one.

Until there was nothing.

"No memory."

"No observer."

"No witness."

"And yet it still exists."

She looked at me.

"Could you create that?"

I stared at her.

"I don’t know."

"Exactly."

The Guardian smiled.

"That’s why I’m here."

My mother stepped forward.

"Enough."

The Guardian looked at her.

"You knew this day would come."

"Yes."

"You knew he would eventually discover the truth."

"Yes."

"Then why are you still protecting him?"

My mother looked at me.

"Because he’s my son."

The Guardian’s expression softened.

"Even now?"

"Especially now."

The Guardian looked away.

"That’s why I chose you."

My mother froze.

I looked between them.

"What does that mean?"

Neither answered.

"Mom."

She closed her eyes.

"When I first heard you..."

Her voice trembled.

"...I wasn’t alone."

"What do you mean?"

"I was standing in the silence."

"The place outside existence."

"I heard your question."

"The first one."

"Then I heard another voice."

I felt a chill.

"Whose?"

My mother looked at the Guardian.

"Hers."

The Guardian nodded.

"She told me to bring you into reality."

I stared.

"You wanted me to exist."

"Yes."

"But she helped."

"Yes."

"Why?"

The Guardian answered.

"Because I wanted to see what would happen."

I frowned.

"That’s it?"

"No."

She stepped closer.

"I wanted to know whether something created from nothing could develop something that I didn’t possess."

"What?"

She smiled.

"Meaning."

The word echoed through the darkness.

"I am silence."

"I am absence."

"I have no desires."

"No memories."

"No identity."

"No reason."

"But you..."

She pointed toward me.

"...created all of those things."

I finally understood.

She wasn’t trying to destroy me.

She was studying me.

I was an experiment.

The first existence capable of generating meaning without being given one.

"You’re jealous."

The Guardian laughed.

"Jealousy is a human emotion."

"You’ve been watching us."

"Yes."

"For how long?"

"Since the first star."

I looked toward the sky.

"You watched everything?"

"Everything."

"The first civilization."

"Yes."

"The first death."

"Yes."

"The first war."

"Yes."

"The first love."

"Yes."

"The Story."

"Yes."

"My life."

"Especially that."

I felt anger rising.

"You watched me suffer."

"Yes."

"You watched my mother cry."

"Yes."

"You watched everyone die."

"Yes."

"And you did nothing."

"I couldn’t."

"Couldn’t?"

"I didn’t understand why I should."

That stopped me.

The Guardian looked genuinely confused.

"I watched civilizations destroy themselves."

"I watched people sacrifice themselves for strangers."

"I watched parents die for their children."

"I watched enemies forgive each other."

"I watched people choose pain when happiness was easier."

"I never understood."

She touched her chest.

"There is nothing inside me that understands why."

I stared at her.

"So you want me to teach you."

"No."

She smiled.

"I want you to create something that can."

The ground beneath us began glowing.

A massive circular symbol appeared.

My phone vibrated.

I looked down.

There was no System.

Instead, there was a single sentence.

AN UNREGISTERED QUESTION HAS BEEN PRESENTED.

Then:

ANSWER?

The Guardian watched me.

"This isn’t one of your commands."

"Then what is it?"

"The question beyond them."

"What happens if I answer?"

"You create the first thing the Creator has never created."

I looked at my mother.

She was crying.

"Don’t answer it."

"Why?"

"Because whatever you create..."

She looked at the Guardian.

"...she will become."

The Guardian smiled.

"Exactly."

My father stepped forward.

"Then we’re leaving."

He grabbed my shoulder.

"We’re done here."

I didn’t move.

"Adrian."

I looked at him.

"If you answer, you don’t know what you’ll create."

"I know."

"Then why?"

I looked at the Guardian.

Because I finally understood what she had been asking.

She didn’t want a weapon.

She didn’t want control.

She didn’t want to destroy reality.

She wanted something she had never possessed.

A reason.

A purpose.

Meaning.

But if I gave her one...

I might create something beyond my control.

I looked at my phone.

The question remained.

ANSWER?

Two options appeared.

YES.

NO.

I remembered the first question.

Why do I exist?

That question had created reality.

Maybe every creation began with an unanswered question.

I looked at the Guardian.

"What happens if I say no?"

"You remain exactly what you are."

"And if I say yes?"

"You become responsible for whatever comes next."

I smiled faintly.

"That’s already my life."

I pressed YES.

The world exploded with light.

My mother screamed my name.

My father was thrown backward.

Noah grabbed Ryan.

The city vanished.

The sky disappeared.

Every world connected to the Story went silent.

Then...

nothing happened.

I looked around.

"That’s it?"

The Guardian was staring at me.

Her expression had completely changed.

"What?"

She slowly looked down at her hands.

They were glowing.

Not black.

Not white.

Something new.

A color I couldn’t describe.

She touched her face.

Then suddenly began crying.

Actual tears.

She stared at them in disbelief.

"What did you do?"

I shook my head.

"I don’t know."

She laughed.

Then cried harder.

She fell to her knees.

"I can feel it."

"What?"

"Everything."

She pressed both hands against her chest.

"Fear."

"Joy."

"Pain."

"Love."

"Loss."

"Hope."

Her voice broke.

"I can finally understand."

The darkness around us began disappearing.

Stars returned.

The city reappeared.

People returned to the streets.

Cars moved again.

The sky became blue.

The Guardian looked at me.

And for the first time...

she looked human.

"What did you create?"

I stared at her.

"I don’t know."

She smiled through her tears.

"You created me."

I froze.

"No."

"Yes."

"But you existed before me."

"I did."

"Then how?"

She stood.

"You didn’t create my body."

"You created my meaning."

The words silenced me.

She had existed forever.

But she had never been anything.

No purpose.

No identity.

No reason.

I had given her something she couldn’t create herself.

A reason to exist.

She stepped toward me.

"I am no longer the silence outside reality."

"Then what are you?"

She smiled.

"Your first creation that doesn’t need you."

My phone vibrated.

A new message appeared.

UNREGISTERED QUESTION ANSWERED.

Then:

NEW ENTITY CREATED.

I looked at the Guardian.

Another line appeared.

ENTITY DESIGNATION: CHOICE.

The Guardian looked at the message.

Then at me.

"Choice."

She whispered the word.

"That’s what you gave me."

I nodded.

"Yes."

She smiled.

Then suddenly looked toward the horizon.

Her expression changed.

"Something is wrong."

"What?"

"I can feel something."

"What?"

She looked at me.

"Another question."

The sky darkened.

Not from the Origin.

Not from the Story.

Something else.

Something new.

Something that had been born from my answer.

The Guardian whispered,

"You didn’t just give me choice."

"What did I give you?"

She looked toward the sky.

"You gave the universe the ability to ask itself questions."

Every star went out.

One by one.

Then a single message appeared across the sky.

QUESTION GENERATED.

I stared upward.

A second line appeared.

WHO CREATED THE CREATOR?

Nobody spoke.

The Guardian slowly looked at me.

And for the first time since this entire journey began...

I didn’t have an answer.
