-------------------------------------------------

Soon, Devara’s chariot entered the main streets of Trivenivrata, and the moment the citizens recognized the familiar figure standing upon Vajravyaghra Rath,

The atmosphere around the road changed completely.

The people who had gathered to welcome the Hastinapur guests now turned their attention toward their own king, and loud cheers immediately began rising from every side.

"King Devara!"

"Long live Maharaja Devara!"

"Victory to our king!"

Devara smiled as he passed through the streets, occasionally raising his hand toward the people in acknowledgement.

The four divine sabertooths continued pulling the chariot at a steady pace, while the citizens moved aside to give their king enough room to pass.

The cheering grew louder as the chariot approached the royal palace.

At the palace gates, Gandhari, Devara’s wives, Rajmata Satyavati, Bhishma and the visiting members of the Hastinapur royal family were still gathered together.

They had been in the middle of welcoming the guests when the distant cheers suddenly reached them.

Everyone turned toward the sound.

Gandhari’s expression immediately brightened.

"He’s back."

Shakuni couldn’t help but chuckle as he looked toward Vidura.

"Looks like my brother-in-law has finally returned."

Vidura smiled hearing him.

"I suppose he chose a rather dramatic way to announce his arrival."

Shakuni laughed.

"That is Devara for you."

The sound of the approaching chariot became louder, and soon the people near the entrance could see Vajravyaghra Rath coming down the road.

The palace guards immediately moved into position.

"Make way!"

The soldiers standing along the road held the crowd back and created a clear path for the divine chariot.

The citizens continued cheering as Devara passed through the opening, while the four sabertooths carried him directly toward the palace gates.

When the chariot finally came to a stop,

Devara stepped down and immediately looked toward the large gathering of people waiting for him.

His eyes first landed on Dhritarashtra.

A broad smile appeared on his face.

"Maharaja."

Dhritarashtra smiled as well and opened his arms.

Devara walked forward and warmly embraced his elder brother-in-law.

"Welcome to Trivenivrata. I am sorry I wasn’t here when you arrived."

Dhritarashtra returned the embrace.

"There is no need to apologize. We have already been welcomed warmly by your family."

Devara stepped back and smiled.

"I am glad."

He then turned toward Queen Madri and respectfully joined his hands.

"Queen Madri, welcome to Trivenivrata. I hope the journey wasn’t too difficult."

Madri smiled warmly.

"It was comfortable, Devara. And after seeing your kingdom, I think the journey was worth every moment."

Devara laughed softly.

"I am happy to hear that."

His attention then moved toward Vidura.

For a moment, the formal expression disappeared completely.

"Vidura!"

Vidura smiled as Devara approached him.

The two men embraced warmly.

"It has been too long," Devara said.

Vidura returned the hug.

"Indeed it has. Though considering everything that has happened recently, I suspect you have had little time to sit quietly."

Devara laughed.

"You know me too well."

Behind them, Shakuni watched the reunion with a satisfied smile, while Bhishma stood nearby observing his younger brother with quiet pride.

Gandhari, meanwhile, had been waiting patiently.

Devara finally turned toward her.

The moment their eyes met, his expression softened.

After all the greetings were finished, he had finally returned to the person who had been waiting for him inside the palace.

Devara’s attention then moved toward Kunti, who had been standing slightly behind Dhritarashtra and Madri with her five sons gathered around her. The moment their eyes met, Devara’s expression softened, and he stepped toward her.

"Kunti, welcome to Trivenivrata."

Kunti immediately folded her hands respectfully.

"Maharaja, it is good to finally meet you."

Devara smiled and gently raised his hand.

"Please, no formalities between family. You are Pandu’s wife and the mother of his sons. You are always welcome here."

Kunti’s expression softened at his words.

"Thank you, Devara."

Devara then looked past her.

Five young boys were standing together, watching him with barely concealed curiosity.

For a moment, Devara simply looked at them.

The Pandavas were exactly as Kunti had described them, though seeing them in person made the connection feel far more real.

These were Pandu’s sons, the children of his younger brother, and through Bhishma they were also part of his extended family.

Then his eyes shifted toward the other group of children standing nearby.

The Kauravas.

They too were still very young, and most of them were staring at Devara with the same curiosity as the Pandavas.

For some of them, this was technically their second visit to Trivenivrata, but they had been infants during their first visit and remembered nothing of it.

Devara looked over the sea of children gathered before him and couldn’t help chuckling.

"So these are all the children?"

The adults around him smiled.

Bhishma nodded.

"All of them."

Devara looked from one child to another.

"Then I suppose the palace is going to become considerably louder from today."

A few of the elders laughed.

Bhima, who had been staring at Devara since he stepped down from the chariot, finally took a small step forward.

Devara noticed him immediately.

"And you must be Bhima."

Bhima’s eyes widened.

"You know my name?"

"Of course I do."

Devara smiled and then looked toward the others.

"Yudhishthira, Arjuna, Nakula and Sahadeva."

The five brothers exchanged surprised looks.

Arjuna immediately became curious.

"You know all our names?"

Devara laughed.

"I knew you were coming. Did you think I wouldn’t bother learning the names of my nephews?"

The boys looked at one another.

There was something about the way Devara spoke to them that immediately made them feel less nervous.

He wasn’t treating them like princes standing before a king.

He was treating them like children belonging to his family.

Devara then looked toward the Kauravas.

"And you must be Dhritarashtra’s sons."

The boys nodded, some more confidently than others.

Devara smiled at them.

"Welcome, all of you. I hope you enjoy your stay here. But I should warn you, Trivenivrata has plenty of places where children can get into trouble."

Bhima’s face immediately brightened.

Kunti noticed it and gave her son a warning look.

Devara laughed when he saw the exchange.

"Don’t worry, Kunti. I’ll make sure they don’t destroy the palace."

Bhima looked slightly disappointed.

That made everyone laugh.

Devara then turned toward the palace.

"Come. You have travelled a long way, and I don’t want our guests standing outside the gates all evening."

He gestured for everyone to follow.

Dhritarashtra and Madri moved forward with their children, while Kunti followed with the Pandavas. Gandhari and the other women walked alongside them, and Bhishma and Shakuni followed behind.

As the enormous palace gates opened wider, the entire group began entering together.

The Pandavas looked around once more, still amazed by everything they saw.

But now they were no longer simply entering the kingdom of a powerful king they had heard stories about.

They were entering the home of a man who had just welcomed them as family.

After Few Hours...

A few hours later, when the palace had finally settled down after the arrival of the Hastinapur guests, another unexpected pair of visitors appeared at Gandhari’s chamber.

Gandhari had been resting comfortably while a few of the women from the family sat around her, talking about the journey, the celebrations and everything that had happened since their arrival.

She was still getting used to the amount of attention she had been receiving ever since the news of her pregnancy had spread across the kingdom.

Then the atmosphere inside the chamber suddenly changed.

A gentle divine radiance appeared near the entrance, and before the attendants could even announce them, Goddess Ganga and Goddess Bhudevi stepped into the chamber.

But what surprised Gandhari wasn’t simply the appearance of the two goddesses.

Both of them were carrying several containers filled with food.

Gandhari immediately looked at them in surprise.

"Mother Ganga? Mother Bhudevi?"

Ganga smiled warmly.

"Why are you looking at us like that?"

Gandhari looked at the food they were carrying.

"Because... what are you doing with all that?"

Bhudevi laughed softly as she placed one of the containers on the nearby table.

"We brought something for you."

"For me?"

"Of course," Ganga replied. "Who else would we bring it for?"

Gandhari slowly sat up, her eyes moving between the two goddesses and the various dishes they had brought.

There were freshly prepared sweets, fruits and several other dishes, including some with the sour flavours that she had recently begun craving.

She looked genuinely touched.

"But you didn’t have to prepare all this yourselves."

Ganga exchanged a smile with Bhudevi.

"We wanted to."

Bhudevi opened one of the containers, revealing freshly prepared sweets.

"Your husband told us that you are carrying our grandchild. Do you really think we were going to hear that news and simply sit around doing nothing?"

Gandhari’s cheeks became slightly red.

"Our grandchild..."

The words seemed to affect her every time someone said them.

Ganga noticed the expression on her face and smiled.

"Yes. Our grandchild."

She moved closer and gently placed her hand over Gandhari’s head.

"You have given us a reason to celebrate, child."

Gandhari folded her hands respectfully.

"I am blessed to receive your love."

Bhudevi immediately shook her head.

"Don’t make this formal. You are our daughter-in-law, and soon you will be the mother of our grandchild. From now on, if you want something, you only need to ask."

Gandhari looked at the enormous amount of food again.

"I think you have already prepared enough for an entire family."

Ganga laughed.

"That is because you are not eating for one person anymore."

The women in the chamber smiled at the exchange.

Gandhari reached toward one of the dishes and tasted a little of the food that Ganga had prepared herself. The moment she tasted it, her expression brightened.

"This is really good."

Ganga’s face immediately lit up.

"You like it?"

Gandhari nodded.

"Very much."

Bhudevi smiled proudly.

"We made it ourselves."

Gandhari looked at them with genuine affection.

"I am very lucky."

Ganga gently squeezed her hand.

"No, child. We are the lucky ones."

She glanced toward Gandhari’s stomach with a soft smile.

"After all, you are the one giving us another member of our family."

Gandhari lowered her eyes, unable to hide her smile.

For a moment, the chamber was filled with nothing but warmth and quiet happiness.

Outside, the palace was still alive with the sounds of guests arriving, servants moving around and citizens celebrating.

But inside Gandhari’s chamber, two goddesses had simply come to do what any excited mother and grandmother might do.

They had cooked for their daughter-in-law with their own hands and brought her food because she was carrying the child they had already begun loving.
