Soon, the doors to Surya Dev’s royal assembly opened, and the conversations inside the chamber gradually fell silent as everyone turned toward the entrance.

A tall, dark-complexioned deity stepped into the hall, dressed in deep black and dark-blue garments that seemed to absorb much of the golden radiance surrounding Surya Lok.

His presence alone was enough to make the atmosphere slightly more serious.

Walking beside him were his wives, Neelima and Dhammini, both accompanying him with quiet composure.

It was Lord Shani.

Yet despite entering the royal assembly,

Shani kept his eyes lowered toward the floor.

He deliberately avoided looking directly at anyone around him, especially his family members.

It was not out of disrespect.

Quite the opposite he was being extremely careful.

The curse associated with the gaze he had received from his second wife had made him cautious about where he looked and upon whom his eyes fell.

Even an unintended glance could bring consequences that neither he nor the person standing before him wanted to experience.

So Lord Shani had learned to keep his gaze lowered.

He walked forward until he reached Goddess Chaya.

Without saying anything, he bent down and touched her feet.

Goddess Chaya’s face immediately softened.

"My son."

She placed her hand gently upon his head and blessed him.

"May you always walk according to dharma, and may your path be protected."

Shani remained bowed for another moment before slowly rising.

He then turned toward Goddess Sandhya and respectfully folded his hands.

"Mother."

Goddess Sandhya smiled and returned the greeting.

"Welcome, Shani. It has been some time since you visited Surya Lok."

Shani nodded respectfully.

"I apologize for not coming sooner."

"There is nothing to apologize for,"

Goddess Sandhya replied warmly.

Finally, Shani turned toward Surya Dev.

Even though he was his father, Shani maintained the same respectful posture.

"Father."

Surya Dev looked at his son for a moment before nodding.

"Welcome, Shani."

Shani folded his hands.

"Thank you."

His voice was calm, but his eyes remained firmly fixed on the floor.

Surya Dev noticed it immediately.

"You can look up a little through reflection, you know."

Shani paused.

A tiny smile appeared on Chaya’s face.

Shani shook his head.

"I think it is safer for everyone if I don’t."

Surya Dev let out a resigned sigh.

"Fair enough."

Yami, who had been watching her brother from the side, couldn’t help smiling.

Shani noticed the movement from the corner of his vision and immediately lowered his gaze even further.

Yami covered her mouth, trying not to laugh seeing her brother having a good talk with her father which is pretty much a rare occurrence.

Chaya shook her head with amusement.

Even after all these years,

Shani still treated his cursed gaze as though his eyes themselves were weapons that needed to remain sheathed.

And perhaps, considering the consequences they could bring, that was exactly what they were.

But he never tried to by pass it through external means.

Which her father Vishwakarma would like to help. But Shani for some reason was avoiding it.

Goddess Yami, who had been standing nearby and watching the exchange, finally stepped forward once Shani had finished greeting their parents. She approached her elder brother with a warm smile.

"Brother, welcome back."

The moment Shani heard Yami’s voice, the stern expression he had been carrying since entering the assembly softened.

A small smile appeared on his face, something that was rarely seen by anyone outside his immediate family.

"Yami."

He didn’t raise his eyes, but the warmth in his voice was enough to show how happy he was to see his sister.

Yami smiled before turning toward Neelima and Dhammini.

"Both of you, welcome. It has been a long time."

The two women smiled and embraced her.

"It has been far too long,"

Neelima replied nodding her head.

Dhammini nodded before suddenly giving Yami a playful look.

"Although, judging by the smile on your face, something rather interesting seems to have happened while we were away."

Yami immediately became suspicious.

"What do you mean?"

Neelima exchanged an amused glance with Dhammini before gently taking Yami by the arm and pulling her a little away from the others.

"Come here. We have something to ask you."

Yami looked between them.

"What?"

Dhammini leaned closer, lowering her voice dramatically.

"Is it true?"

"Is what true?"

Neelima’s smile widened.

"That you have fallen in love with the son of one of the Trimurties?"

Yami froze hearing it.

Her cheeks immediately turned pink.

"I..."

Dhammini’s eyes lit up.

"So it is true!"

Yami quickly looked away.

"I never said that. But yeah its true..."

"You didn’t have to,"

Neelima teased back Goddess Yami.

"Your face just answered for you."

Yami covered her cheeks with her hands.

"Please stop."

Both women laughed.

Dhammini continued teasing her.

"And he is currently on Bhulok, isn’t he?"

Yami gave a tiny nod, still too embarrassed to look at them.

Neelima smiled.

"Devaratha."

Yami’s blush deepened at the name.

"Yes."

The two women exchanged another delighted glance.

Yami sighed helplessly.

"Can both of you please stop making this embarrassing?"

Their laughter drew the attention of the others, though Surya Dev wisely chose not to interfere.

Instead, he turned toward Shani.

"There is something you should know."

Shani straightened slightly.

"What is it, Father?"

Surya Dev explained the situation, telling him about the astrologer’s calculations, the danger approaching Surya Lok and the decision he had made regarding Yami’s marriage.

"I have decided to hold Yami’s Swayamvara soon, And Devara will be invited."

Lord Shani listened carefully without interrupting.

After a moment, he nodded.

"I understand."

Surya Dev continued to speak.

"The astrologer believes delaying the marriage could place Yami and Surya Lok at greater risk. I don’t intend to take that chance."

Shani remained thoughtful for a few seconds before nodding again.

"If that is what the stars are warning us about, then I agree with your decision."

His expression became slightly more serious.

"And if Devara is the person Yami has chosen, then he should be given the opportunity to come here and make that choice himself."

Surya Dev smiled faintly.

"That was my intention."

Behind them, Yami was still being teased by her sisters-in-law, who had clearly decided that her embarrassment was far too entertaining to waste.

Shani heard their laughter and smiled quietly.

For once, the royal assembly of Surya Lok was filled with something other than divine matters and warnings of impending danger.

There was a wedding to arrange.

And if everything went according to plan, Devara would soon receive an invitation from Surya Lok.

Shani remained quiet for a few moments after agreeing with Surya Dev’s decision.

His expression gradually became more serious, and the small smile that had appeared while speaking with Yami disappeared completely.

"There is another reason I came here, Father."

Surya Dev looked toward him.

"You said you came without sending word ahead. Why?"

Shani slowly lifted his head, though he still kept his gaze lowered enough to avoid accidentally looking directly at anyone.

"I saw something."

The change in his voice immediately caught everyone’s attention.

Chaya’s expression became concerned.

"What did you see?"

Shani took a slow breath.

"I used my Drishti a few days ago. At first, I thought it was merely another vision, something that might pass once I stopped looking. But this one was different."

He paused before continuing.

"I saw Surya Lok."

Surya Dev’s expression hardened.

"What about it?"

"Everything was covered in darkness."

The chamber became completely silent.

Shani continued, his voice low and measured.

"There was no light coming from the sun. The entire realm had become dark, and the darkness wasn’t limited to Surya Lok. I could see the other Lokas that depend upon your light slowly being swallowed by it as well."

Sandhya frowned hearing the discription.

"You mean the light of Surya Dev had disappeared?"

Shani nodded.

"Not merely hidden behind clouds. It was as though something had completely cut off the source of the light itself."

Surya Dev’s expression became grave.

"And what happened afterward?"

Shani’s hands tightened slightly.

"Chaos."

He looked toward his father.

"If that darkness remains for long, it will become far more dangerous than simply losing daylight. There are beings throughout the realms that draw strength from darkness. Creatures that are weakened by your light would suddenly find themselves free to move without restriction."

His voice became heavier.

"And their strength would increase."

Chaya’s expression changed.

"How much?"

"I cannot say."

Shani shook his head.

"But I know it would not be a small increase. The longer Surya Lok remains covered in darkness, the stronger those beings become. Eventually, some of them could become powerful enough to challenge the very forces that normally keep them contained."

Surya Dev remained silent, absorbing his son’s words.

Shani continued.

"I saw entire regions descending into fear. The Lokas that depend upon your light were struggling to survive, and the darkness kept spreading. It was not simply an attack on Surya Lok."

He paused.

"It was a catastrophe waiting to happen."

The astrologer, who had been listening from the side, slowly looked toward his charts.

His expression had become troubled.

"So the vision confirms what I calculated."

Shani turned toward him.

"You saw the same thing?"

"Not the vision itself,"

the astrologer replied.

"But I sensed a great disturbance approaching Surya Lok. I could not determine its nature."

Shani nodded.

"Then my vision may have shown us the consequence rather than the cause."

Surya Dev looked toward his son.

"Did you see who caused the darkness?"

Shani slowly shook his head.

"Did you see when it happens?"

"Not clearly."

Shani lowered his voice.

"But I know one thing."

Everyone waited.

"We cannot afford to ignore it."

Surya Dev’s gaze hardened with determination.

"We won’t."

His eyes moved toward Yami for a moment before returning to Shani.

"And if the astrologer’s calculations are connected to your vision, then perhaps the Swayamvara must happen before whatever you saw comes to pass."

Shani nodded.

"That is what I believe."

Yami had been listening silently throughout the conversation.

The happiness she had felt earlier had disappeared beneath the seriousness of what her brother had revealed, though the thought of Devara still brought a faint warmth to her expression.

Surya Dev slowly looked around the assembly.

"Then we have two matters that cannot wait."

He raised one hand.

"Yami’s Swayamvara."

Then his expression became stern.

"And finding out what is coming for Surya Lok."

The astrologer bowed.

"I will continue studying the stars."

Shani nodded.

"And I will continue watching through my Drishti."

For the first time since his arrival, Shani raised his head slightly.

"Whatever is coming, we should know about it before the darkness reaches us."
