Chapter 179: Chapter 179

Tempest wasn’t sure how long she was laying there on the hard table.

Every once in a while she would try to move her arms or legs. The binds never loosened.

She tried to keep quiet. Tried to be a calm prisoner, but after a while of this, she couldn’t hold back anymore.

"Hey! Minnie, come back in here!" She yelled for the woman. She didn’t know what was taking so long or where her friends were, but she knew that Minnie would have the answers to at least some of her questions.

This all felt completely uncalled for.

Tempest knew that Minnie and the rest of the humans who were here were only looking out for their own safety but Tempest knew that none of her group would do anything to harm them. That is of course after they figured out that she was okay.

She had no idea what Rynax or Aliq was doing. They could be trying to fight back. That could be the reason it was taking so long for them to be brought in the room with her.

What if they were injured?

She didn’t know if any of the humans had anything they could use to heal an alpha. She didn’t know what they had done to them in the valley earlier. She was completely at a loss for what to do. All she could think was to yell.

At least she could try and get someone in here to talk to her.

After yelling until her voice was hoarse, Tempest hard the door to her room squeak open. She lifted her head the best she could.

Relief washed over her when she saw first, Gerax and then Rynax come into the room. Both of them were gagged blindfolded and cuffed.

Rynax was still limping but it wasn’t as bad as the last time she had saw him.

"Where’s Aliq? Where’s the other one?" Tempest questioned when she didn’t see Aliq tottering in behind the two of them.

"The other one is too dangerous to be moved. He will stay in holding until he calms down." One of the three women who ushered Gerax and Rynax in spoke.

Both Gerax and Rynax started mumbling something the second they heard Tempest speaking. She couldn’t understand them.

She was more concerned with Aliq anyway. Of course he wasn’t going to calm down. He was probably worried about what had happened to Tempest.

"You have to let me talk to him. He’s not going to calm down until he knows I’m okay."

The woman shrugged, "Then he’s going to stay in that room indefinetly." She left out before Tempest could say anything else.

At once the other two women quickly undid the blindfolds and the gags from Gerax and Rynax face and mouth. They did it so fast Tempest barely saw them run out of the room.

Gerax blinked a few times before he focused his sights on Tempest.

"By the moon goddess what have they done to you."

Rynax growled and turned to the door. He began kicking it as if he were trying to break it down.

"Ry! Stop that! Right now." Tempest hissed at him. He turned in her direction.

"Why, we have to get out of here."

"No, we don’t. I’m perfectly fine. They didn’t do anything to me. Honestly, they are more scared of us then we are of them."

Gerax scoffed and shrugged his shoulders hard. His hands were still tethered in front of him. "I highly doubt that."

"It’s true. They think we are here to hurt them or try to take their land. You have to remember they are a bunch of humans here. They are fragile and work solely of the element of surprise. As long as we are on our best behavior and show them they have nothing to fear from us we’re going to be fine." Tempest was starting to get a cramp in her stomach from crunching up to talk to them.

"That does make sense. I’m sure they don’t have a lot of our kind in their camp." Gerax spoke and she could see the tension slowly seeping out of him. She focused the rest of her attention on Rynax.

"Hey, are you okay?"

"I’m fine. Though I can’t say I enjoyed being electrocuted."

Tempest winced. "Yeah that didn’t look like it was fun."

"To say the least." Rynax walked over to where Tempest was laying down and slowly started undoing her binds. When he was finished with that he did the same for Gerax, who in turn undid the binds on Rynax’s wrist.

"What happened to Aliq." Gerax questioned. "They separated all of us. I don’t know where he is."

"He’s still in the compound. Can you check on him using your..." With that, she looked down at her own wrist and noticed that the wrist device she was so used to wearing wasn’t there. She looked to Rynax and Gerax and saw that they weren’t wearing theirs either.

"Crap...they took our communicators. Do you think Mexyn has already tried to call in? You don’t think she’ll do anything rash do you?" Tempest questioned as she was finally able to sit up compeletly.

"I don’t know how long we’ve been out of commission but if it’s been longer than a day than I have no doubt their are soldiers on their way here." Gerax pressed his lips together and looked up at Tempest.

That was exactly what she didn’t want to hear.

"Damn it. We’ve got to get Minnie to talk to us."

"Minnie?" Rynax questioned.

"Yeah the woman that was in here."

"Someone was in here? They talked to you. No one has said a word to us."

Tempest thought about it for a second..."Can they even understand you? Maybe their translators aren’t working?"

"That could be the case but we won’t be sure until we get someone to at least try and talk to us." Rynax replied.

He walked back over to the door as if he were going to try and break out again.

"Please don’t start. If you keep banging on the door we’re going to be stuck in here longer than we need to be. They already think you are a danger. We have to stay calm." Tempest looked around the room. She wondered if there was something that she could use to let the people outside know that it was safe.

It was right in the corner. A camera. She didn’t know how functional it was. Honestly, it looked like a mess of wires and lens. As calm as she could she stood right in front of it and started to talk.

"You have to come talk to us. We don’t have much time." Tempest tried to get her point across for what seemed like a long time. Still no one was coming to the door.

"This isn’t working." Gerax huffed and started walking in a small space, pacing back and forth.

"I think I can just bend the door at the hinges and we can get out that way."

"To what end Rynax. You have to trust me. Breaking out will only make things worse for us. And for Aliq."

Both Gerax and Rynax looked at eachother as if they had nearly forgotten about Aliq.

"What are they doing to him? If they are tourturing him or something like that I can’t say that Crilium will just let it slide." Gerax crossed his arms over his chest. He hadn’t stopped moving.

"I know. I don’t think they are though. I think they are waiting for him to calm down. They’re too scared to go in the room with him."

"He’s not going to calm down."

Tempest sighed. It was as if she were going in circles. "I know. That’s what I told them."

There was only one way that this would turn out okay and that was if these people would trust Tempest and her crew enough to hear them out.

All she could do was pray.

After a while of standing up in front of the camera hoping that someone was on the other side looking at her she got down on the ground and sat crossed legged. She let her head fall down and just waited.

It was all she could do.

Her eyelids got heavy. She was going to fall back to sleep. She didn’t have time for rest. More than that the people of this settlement didn’t have time for Tempest to rest. She had to get in contact with both Dron and Mexyn and let them know that they were alright.

SHe was scared to think of what might happen if they didn’t get a chance to communicate with them.

The humans were scared of two alphas. Imagine what would happen if a whole army of them showed up at their gates.

Just as her body was starting to fall back into unconsciousness, the door squeaked open again.

Tempest startled and got to her feet.

"You have to listen to me." Tempest started right away as she saw Minnie walking into the room.

The human woman put her hand up to stop Tempest. Minnie wasn’t alone. There was three other women with her.

One of them flanked by everyone else.

Tempest instantly recognized the respect. She must be the leader.

"I’ve been told by my associated that I need to listen to what it is that you need to say." The woman was older. Older than any other person that Tempest had ever seen on this planet.

"They’re right. You need to listen to us. If you don’t people can die. We don’t want that to happen." Tempest let the words flow out of her.

The older woman sighed.

"You’re not impressed." Tempest tilted her head to the side. She was getting a very strong nonchalance from the woman.

"I can’t say that I am. You think this is the first time that the monsters on this planet have threatened to come and take us out. We’ve always been on the kill list of some one. We survive. It’s just how things are."

"You won’t survive this. I promise you."

"Is that a threat?" The woman narrowed her eyes at Tempest.

"No, not a threat. A warning. I know the people that are on the way here."

The woman’s face took a red color before she turned her eyes onto Minnie. "So I was correct. You are here to try and take over."

"No." Tempest sighed, "Our plan wasn’t to come in here and take over. Like I told Minnie before. I was just curious but there are people on the outside that know we are here. When we don’t answer back they will come for us. They will think we are in danger. They will fight. I need to contact my friends on the outside so they don’t do anything crazy."

"And how do I know that when we let you talk to your friends you won’t tell them what we have in here and they won’t come in just like we suspect?"

"You’re just going to have to trust us." Tempest crossed her arms over her chest. It wasn’t as if she were telling everyone that everything would be okay. They were no promises to be made.

"I don’t trust you. Not at all but I do know that we can’t go up against a group of Alphas. You will contact your friends and tell them that you are on the way home. Then you will leave and never return." The woman turned as if she were going to leave.

"Wait! I just want to..." Tempest knew that it wasn’t the best time but this would all be for nothing if she didn’t at least see what was happening in this settlement.

"You just want to what? Bring more chaos?"

Tempest huffed, "I’m not the one who brought the chaos. We were only walking. You guys are the ones who decided to take us hostage." Tempest snapped back.

The older woman glared at her for a moment before a small smile crosses her face.

"You’ve got fire. I thought they’d have whipped that out of you."

"I don’t know what you thought, but they’ve never laid a hand on me like that. They’ve only protected me. You’re wrong about all the alphas. They aren’t as bad as you are making them out to be." Tempest spoke softly. She didn’t want to sound like she was being aggressive.

The older woman took a beat, and then she nodded her head.

"So be it. Let’s take a tour."

Tempest breathed a long sigh before she looked to Gerax and Rynax who didn’t seem to be as excited about the turn of events.

Tempest only had to hope that things went exactly how she hoped it would.
