Chapter 209: Chapter 158: Harvest! Invincible

The excitement on Sun Beixi’s face faded by half, but it quickly flared up again. "Two or three days? No problem! Two or three days it is! We’ll do as Professor Song says!"

He sidled up to Professor Song, his face wreathed in smiles. "Professor Song, what books do you need? I’ll buy them for you! I’ll borrow them for you! Just say the word!"

Professor Song glanced at him without a word, merely shaking his head and starting to pack up the things on his desk.

Night fell, and Lingyun Manor disappeared into the darkness.

Sun Beixi had wanted to ask Professor Song to stay for dinner as a gesture of goodwill, but the professor waved him off, saying he had to review his students’ theses that evening, and left with his old leather bag.

Not long after, Wan Ze and Sun Beixi walked out of the manor’s main gate side by side.

The streets were quiet under the night sky.

The plane trees lining the road were bare. The air was dry and cold, and the white puffs of their breath dissipated before their eyes.

Most of the shops along the street were closed, with only a few convenience stores still lit. Their warm, yellow light spilled through the glass windows onto the sidewalk.

The sound of a car passing occasionally drifted from the distance, only to quickly fade back into the night.

Sun Beixi rubbed his hands together, blew out a puff of warm air, and began excitedly, "So, Expert, what do you think that Princess Olmek is really like?"

Wan Ze shook his head. ’How am I supposed to know about that?’

Sun Beixi continued on his own, "I plan to go back and do some serious research on this. Just think about it! A princess, and a Martial Artist at that, coming all the way from so far away to marry into our country... How grand must that be? And I wonder what that Holy Fire Order thing is. Is it a Token? Or some kind of keepsake? If you ask me, it might be a treasure that can command some organization..."

He was in the middle of his excited spiel when Wan Ze suddenly stopped walking.

Sun Beixi paused, stopping as well. He followed Wan Ze’s gaze and looked ahead... A group of people was slowly emerging from the mouth of an alley.

There were seven or eight of them, all wearing face masks and baseball caps, with the brims pulled down low. Their faces were obscured in the dim light of the streetlamps. All he could tell was that the leader was exceptionally tall and broad-shouldered, with his arms hanging naturally at his sides as he walked with a steady, powerful gait.

Sun Beixi subconsciously took half a step back, leaned closer to Wan Ze, and whispered, "Westerners?"

The leader drew closer, and his face became visible under the streetlamp.

He was indeed a foreigner, in his early thirties, with blond hair, blue eyes, and sharp, angular features. He had high cheekbones and lips so thin they were almost a line. He wore a dark jacket, unzipped, revealing a tight-fitting shirt underneath that hugged the contours of his muscular chest.

He stopped five or six paces away from them, and the men behind him fanned out, subtly blocking their escape route.

The man spoke fluent Federation Standard, but with a slightly stiff, rolling accent. "Sun Beixi."

The two words made his intentions clear.

Sun Beixi blinked, his face taking on a standard ’I have no idea what you’re talking about’ expression.

He scratched his head, his expression utterly sincere. "Sorry, pal, I really don’t understand what you’re saying. Are you in some kind of trouble? Want me to call the cops for you?"

The foreigner stared at him, his gaze unwavering, as if looking at an insect playing dead.

"Your uncle... is a thief. He stole something from our organization."

Sun Beixi kept blinking. "Pal, I really don’t know the uncle you’re talking about... My uncle died ages ago. Seriously, the weeds on his grave are a mile high. You must have the wrong person, right?"

The foreigner ignored him.

His gaze lingered on Sun Beixi’s face for two seconds before sweeping over to Wan Ze beside him. There was no emotion in his eyes, only pure indifference.

Like a human looking down at an ant.

Then he spoke.

Three words, concise and to the point: "Kill them all."

Sun Beixi’s eyes shot wide open.

’Wait, we’ve barely exchanged a few words and he wants us all dead???’

He opened his mouth to say something, but his mind went completely blank.

’Can’t we just talk things out?’

’He just opens his mouth and orders people killed?’

’So ruthless?!’

’He’d thought Qin Jiu and his disciple were bad enough, shattering his worldview, but compared to this gang of Westerners... Fucking hell! These guys are on another level of ruthless!’

"Wait!"

He yelled hurriedly, his mind racing.

They were outnumbered, and he was afraid Wan Ze would be at a disadvantage. He blurted out, "I can give you the thing! Just let us go! Or else—"

"Or else?" the foreigner interrupted, the corner of his mouth twitching into a smirk, as if watching a joke unfold. "Or else what?"

The man took a step forward and said coldly, "You think the two of you can get out of this alive?"

His gaze fell on Sun Beixi’s face as if looking at a dead man. "If you want to blame someone, blame yourselves for touching something you never should have."

He raised his hand.

But in the instant he swung his hand down—

BOOM!!!

A torrent of ferocious vital energy, like a long-suppressed volcano, erupted with a roar!

Wan Ze moved.

He instantly activated the Dragon Eagle Secret Martial Arts. Adrenaline surged through him. The ground beneath his feet cracked violently, and his entire body shot forward like a cannonball, straight toward the foreigner!

"You’d take our lives over a single disagreement—"

"Then you’d better have the skill to back it up!"

Wan Ze’s even colder voice exploded at the mouth of the alley.

Kate’s pupils contracted violently!

The overwhelming pressure of that vital energy rushing toward him made his scalp tingle instantly.

He instinctively raised his hands to block!

But...

No matter how fast he was, how could he possibly be faster than Wan Ze using the Dragon Eagle Secret Martial Arts at full power?

BANG!!!

A punch, heavy with momentum and strength, landed squarely on his crossed arms.

CRACK!

The distinct sound of bone splintering rang out!

The bones in both of Kate’s arms snapped in the middle, and gleaming white shards pierced through his skin and flesh!
