Chapter 2999. Issues To Fix

Chapter 2999: 2999. Issues To Fix

The sudden subtle laugh from the wandering blacksmith was enough to make Su freeze and become even more confused.

"I am the one who recommended he pursue the crafting guild after he showed me his abilities despite his injuries in his early life." The wandering blacksmith seemed even more amused that Su and the younger girl were confused in the same ways.

However, the younger demon boy was also cracking up in laughter since he hadn’t even said to Walker that he knew the wandering blacksmith. It was almost like the two of them had coordinated this joke without knowing they would actually see one another.

"Boid here was trying to carve in to ruby fragments he found outside of a forge and I caught him. He was doing pretty well for the moment until he realized I was watching." This was a lot of talking for the wandering blacksmith, but it gave context to how he had found the boy now recognized by Boid, an odd name but one that Su would be able to remember.

"I wasn’t stealing anything, it was on the ground and that made it trash. I cleaned up the city to make it better." The grumbling from Boid stopped when he looked at the other crafter in the room now, "What’s your name? You never said anything, just glared and looked unhappy until you heard those voices."

His way of asking was not the refined and meek ways that he acted when Walker first spoke to him. It was blunt and louder making it clear that he had confidence here around someone he knew. Also that Walker’s chat about his future and what he could do had broken some form of limits in his mind before.

This made some sense though, Boid had felt he was limited by his injuries as an infant and would never be able to be an amazing crafter despite his skills with carving gems. Yet, being able to have a space affinity and pursue crafting literal storage spaces in items was something that not many, if anyone could actually do within Genesis. He was able to do something others couldn’t!

How could that not inspire a deeper confidence to speak out? Not to mention he was still riding that level of excitement from going off in to an unknown place and expanding his perception of what he believed reality to be.

"Stop being so loud! I am Rita and I will be a better crafter than you because I will craft elemental planes and speak to spirits. You just have to wait until I manage to craft a smaller elemental plane using a naturally formed rune I grow myself." Her words ended with a huff that Su barely held back from calling adorable.

Su always found the youngest generation to be adorable, but these were younger crafters who were basically students also still learning the basics classes in Genesis knowledge and education. They had just the permission to also pursue crafting due to them already having classes to some degree and pursuing their classes.

Now they would just be pursuing more advanced classes that had more challenges to them. Not that this was a bad thing, it would set them on a path of focus and determination that would be praised by many. Especially when they began to show the world what they could accomplish.

"You need to grow a naturally formed rune?" Su was surprised that this was something that Rita needed to accomplish so that she could advance her class and also be able to forge an elemental plane. However, it also made some sense.

The naturally formed runes were runes that condensed within nature. A more pure form of rune that manifested due to the manas gathered and the flow that naturally happened for specific manas within an area.

Within Genesis, there were many cases of already creating naturally formed runes so that there could be small magic towers used for communication and the buffs over all of Genesis territory. Therefore, the methods of doing so were known.

These naturally formed runes also allowed for other things like the growth of a dungeon, the health of those who lived nearby it, and also various other nature based benefits for farmers or alchemists and herbalists. Su could lecture on and on about it with her knowledge if she desired to do so.

"It’s very funny that Walker tried to show others that they have a path to forge and manipulate dungeons only to find those who could do other things that required similar skills. Crafting storage spaces using space mana. Crafting elemental planes so that they can develop safely and be able to merge with the greater elemental planes. Both of you have skills useful to the later goals of Genesis on the front lines of exploration and understanding."

With how positive Su was( both young crafters looked at her and felt that they had every bit of support and protection needed. Not only to pursue their future, but everyone would have the best possible chances that could be offered to them.

"Hero Walker told me that you have materials I can use for my quest?" Boid was already refocused and looking around for any gems he might be able to use to begin his quests.

"What do you need?" The wandering blacksmiths told up with a larger groan and cracking back, clearly, he’d been leaning over the same table of blueprints dealing what appeared to be a foldable shield for a dwarven golem for hours now.

"My as well, I must craft perfect elemental runes before I can begin forming a natural rune by myself." First steps seemed simple for Rita as well.

"Sheet metal for carving and wood for carving is in the corner. Gem shards are in that bin. Neither of you can use the alloys or full gems yet. Prove to me you can handle them."

The wandering blacksmith looked at Su and she knew that look. He was waiting for her to show him any damaged equipment she had or to share ideas.

They were falling in to perfect chances to practice and advance. A warm and welcome common ground.

As Walker returned to Genesis he was prepared to find where Su and the two young crafters were. However, he caught the sound of a few people wondering why the deliveries of elven farmed vegetables were late.

This wouldn’t be abnormal for carriages and merchants to be late here and there. But from the sound of things, it wasn’t just by a couple hours. It was a full two days now and no additional information had yet to be shared.

An unusual event to say the least.

But he didn’t have many pressing matters and decided to follow the road toward the forest elf territory. He knew that the trees were healthy and well connected along with the guard routes also being well established.

That didn’t mean something out of the ordinary couldn’t occur though.

He used wind mana to fly, focusing it in the same way he would copy a dragon’s form to make wings out of the wind mana. This gave him a bit more control while also allowing him to spread his mana senses out along the route better.

It was barely half an hour away from the Genesis territories before he found the spot in the road that was causing all the issues and stopping travel for days.

Well, road was now a loose term since it was easier to say what was now partially an overflowing brook.

It was simple to tell that as the terrain had been changed for the roads there had been a greater change in the brook naturally flowing here. As a result, the water gathered and made the road begin to soften, eventually causing it to wash out.

Something easily overlooked since changing terrain and weather would always affect things.

The mud was the main issue. Several merchant caravans were camping out awaiting assistance to move their carriages from the mud then move on.

The guards present were focused on the well being of others meaning that a work team was yet to be brought out here safely. Not a major issue but a slower to fix issue than what many might be happy about.

"I won’t fix the road, the trees are intact and the water needs to flow, the experts can work on an improvement plan. I can get everyone over the mud and back on track though."

His arrival brought many smiles and some words of thanks. But Walker also found himself curious.

For the shipment of food from the elven forest to be gossiped about it must be valuable or widely used. He found himself more curious about what they had to transport than anything else.
