Draven Viremont then looked toward everyone else and realized that his question had probably been a little inappropriate considering the situation. He gave a small shrug before speaking in a casual tone. "I see. Sorry about that. I just got excited thinking about having more demon corpses."
The others didn’t say anything about it. Instead, everyone’s attention soon turned toward Cassie once again. She was the only person present who had actually witnessed what had happened here from beginning to end, making her the only one who could properly explain the situation.
Aurelius Voltaris looked at Cassie and smiled gently before speaking. "So, Saintness Cassie, would you tell us what exactly happened here? Of course, there is no need for you to explain what the Church was doing here. You can answer those questions to the public soon."
As everyone heard his words, no one said anything. Only Solarius’s expression became slightly annoyed, though there was nothing more than that. Explaining the situation to the public would certainly be troublesome, but it wasn’t something he considered a serious problem.
The public would eventually forget about this incident anyway. Even if the footage continued spreading, the Church could simply claim that it was fake. There was no reliable way for the public to verify everything that had happened inside the facility.
Solarius looked at Aurelius for a moment before thinking inwardly, ’Unless he comes in our way.’ If the Royal Family decided to involve themselves in this matter, then things could become a little tricky. Other than that, Solarius didn’t believe there was much to worry about. The public was easily influenced, and controlling the narrative wouldn’t be particularly difficult for the Church.
While Solarius was thinking about this, Aurelius continued speaking. "What we are curious about is how the demons were able to escape even when you were already here. I don’t think they could have escaped from an Immortal-rank cultivator like you unless..."
Aurelius paused for a moment and looked at Cassie with a faint smile before continuing, "...you let them go deliberately."
He suddenly laughed and waved his hand slightly. "I am just joking. There is no way you would deliberately let them go, right?" Everyone else remained silent, but they were clearly curious about the same thing.
Cassie listened to everything Aurelius had said before finally speaking. "His Majesty—" Cassie had barely said those words when Aurelius interrupted her in a casual tone. "No need for formalities. Everyone present here is just a friend from our days at the Academy anyway, don’t you think so?"
As he said this, Aurelius looked toward everyone else. Lucas gave a small nod, while Draven also nodded in agreement. Only Edward didn’t say anything. He simply remained silent, standing there with the same calm expression he had maintained since arriving.
Aurelius glanced at Edward and smiled. "You are still the same, Edward. You should smile sometimes too." Edward remained completely silent and gave no response. No one else said anything either, and after a brief moment, everyone’s attention once again returned to Cassie.
Cassie then looked toward Audrey, who was standing beside her. After thinking for a moment, she finally spoke. "It would be better to show you instead of telling you." Everyone understood what she meant and simply nodded. No one had any objections.
Audrey then stepped forward slightly and raised her hand. Mana began gathering around her as she prepared to use her abilities. A moment later, an illusion began forming around everyone, and the surroundings slowly changed as Audrey’s ability took effect, allowing everyone present to witness a recreation of what had happened at the facility.
Audrey created the whole scene that had taken place. Of course, she didn’t show the part where Asher and Cassie talked about the incident of Selena’s death from 10 years ago, because she was not stupid enough to do that unless she wanted to be killed by Edward right here.
Everyone watched the whole conversation between Cassie and Asher with an amused, but also confused, expression on their faces, because everything that Asher said was something they didn’t fully understand. His words, the things he was talking about, and the meaning behind some of his statements were all things that left them confused. They could understand the conversation itself, but there were many things about it that they simply couldn’t connect together.
Edward’s face remained totally calm, but inside, he was surprised. As he observed the scene more carefully, he slowly realised who it was in that scene that had attacked her and caused all of this. However, he didn’t let his realization show on his face. He simply continued watching everything with the same calm expression as before, as if nothing had changed.
No one found anything wrong with his reaction.
And then came the scene where Asher summoned that Crimson Sword.
The moment everyone saw the Crimson Sword appear, their expressions changed slightly, but what happened next caused those expressions to completely change.
Asher died in the process of summoning it, and at the same time, the sword managed to injure Cassie.
Everyone’s expression changed to disbelief.
A Master Rank had actually managed to cut an Immortal Rank.
And the most unbelievable part was that Cassie couldn’t even heal the wound.
For everyone watching, this was something they had never expected to see.
The difference between a Master Rank and an Immortal Rank was something that everyone understood very clearly. It was not simply a small difference in strength that could be overcome through a single powerful attack. An Immortal Rank stood on an entirely different level compared to a Master Rank.
Yet, Asher had managed to injure Cassie with that Crimson Sword.
Not only that, but the wound couldn’t even be healed normally.
The scene left everyone completely stunned as they continued watching without saying anything. Some of them couldn’t even understand how something like this had been possible in the first place, cutting someone and then even when you make a new body the injury still remains there.
