Edward suddenly moved. He took the bone he had dug out of Solarius’s shoulder earlier and shoved it directly into Solarius’s mouth, completely cutting off his words. Solarius’s eyes widened in shock as he froze for a moment, unable to believe what Edward had just done. Edward looked at him calmly, as if what he had done was completely normal. "As expected, dogs won’t stay quiet until they get a bone in their mouth."
Edward then turned toward Cassie, completely ignoring Solarius. "Now, continue." Cassie looked at Solarius, who immediately spat the bone out of his mouth. He glared at Edward with murderous eyes, but despite his anger, he still didn’t dare to do anything. ’Just what happened? Has Edward really lost his mind? The man who always acted according to cold logic is now behaving like this?’ Cassie couldn’t understand what had happened to Edward or why he was suddenly acting so differently from the person she knew.
For someone who was always calm and guided by cold logic, his current behavior was completely unexpected. When Cassie remained silent for a moment, Edward looked at her again. "What are you waiting for? Now tell me what happened here." His voice remained calm, but there was a slight impatience in it, as if he didn’t want to waste any more time.
Before Cassie could answer, the space around them suddenly began to ripple. A strange distortion spread through the air as the surrounding space twisted slightly. Several figures then appeared from within the spatial distortion, causing all three of them to immediately turn their attention toward the newcomers. There were a total of nine people who had arrived at the location.
Solarius’s shoulder still hadn’t healed, and the injury continued to bleed. However, at least the bone was no longer in his mouth. For Solarius, that was the only small relief he could find in this situation. If those nine people had arrived a few moments earlier and witnessed Edward putting the bone into his mouth, it would have been the greatest embarrassment of his life. He silently hoped that none of them had seen what had happened.
Edward looked toward the three groups that had arrived. He was already familiar with everyone among them. One of the men stepped forward and looked directly at Edward before speaking. "Edward, as expected, you are already here."
Edward turned toward the source of the voice. It was a man with silver hair, and standing beside him were two more people. One was a woman who shared similar features with him, while the other was a man dressed in a guard’s uniform. The silver-haired man and the woman were both Immortal-rank experts, while the guard was a Grandmaster-rank Spatial Element user who had teleported them directly to this location.
Edward looked at the silver-haired man for a moment before calmly speaking. "Lucas, so you finally reached. Took you long enough." The man was Lucas Velmora, the Head of House Velmora and one of the Three Dukes, just like Edward. The woman standing beside him was his younger sister, Audrey Velmora.
The moment Audrey noticed Cassie, her attention immediately shifted toward her. She instantly moved closer to Cassie, seemingly concerned about what had happened here. "Ohh, Solarius, my friend. What happened to you? Who did this to you?" Solarius’s expression instantly became annoyed when he heard that voice. He already knew exactly who it belonged to, and there was one person in the entire world whom he hated hearing from more than anyone else.
He slowly turned toward the source of the voice. It was a man with blonde hair and blue eyes. Aurelius Voltaris. He was the current Emperor of the Continent and an Immortal-rank cultivator who wielded the Lightning Element. Two more men stood beside him. One of them was an Immortal-rank Lightning Element cultivator, Aurelius’s younger brother and the Captain of all the Imperial Guards, while the other was a Grandmaster-rank Spatial Element user who had assisted them in reaching the location.
Solarius looked at Aurelius with an irritated expression. His shoulder was still injured, and he was already having a terrible day. And now, of all people, Aurelius had arrived. "Why did he have to come here as well?" Solarius couldn’t help but feel even more frustrated. The situation had already become humiliating enough, and with so many powerful people now present, he could only hope that no one would ask too many questions about what had happened to him.
Solarius looked back at Aurelius with an irritated expression before speaking in an angry tone.
"None of your business. And we are not friends, so don’t call me that. First, tell me why you have come here."
Aurelius looked at Solarius calmly, seemingly unaffected by his attitude. He then spoke in a casual tone. "You don’t know, I guess, but your Church is currently ranked number one on the internet’s trending rankings. Everything that happened there is trending as well. I guess someone leaked the footage of the facility."
The moment Solarius heard this, his expression became solemn. His mind immediately became filled with questions, and he cursed inwardly. ’Just what is happening? Who the hell is playing with the Church now?’
While Solarius was still trying to understand the situation, another voice suddenly came from nearby. The voice was dry and emotionless, as if the person were asking about something completely ordinary.
"By the way, Cardinal Solarius, do you happen to have some Grandmaster-rank demon corpses? I am in need of a few of them."
Everyone immediately looked toward the source of the voice. It was a man with black hair and black eyes, standing calmly among the others as though his strange request was completely normal.
The man was Duke Viremont, the Duke of House Viremont, a powerful noble family known for practicing Dark Magic. His expression remained indifferent as he looked at Solarius, seemingly waiting for an answer to his question.
Then, the man standing beside Duke Viremont whispered quietly, "It is not a good idea to ask that, don’t you think?"
