Mercenary’s War

Chapter 2638 - 2613: Ram! Ram! Ram!

Nate suddenly kicked a piece of broken wood at his feet, and the wood hit the glass window, shattering a piece of glass with a crisp crash.

Unable to contain his fury, he kicked again heavily, this time hitting the wall with a loud bang, then Nate shouted in extreme anger, "F**k!"

Nate, known as Mad Wolf, is calm when commanding operations, even maintaining his composure during the final suicidal charges.

Even when he goes crazy, Nate does it calmly.

So Nate’s sudden outburst startled the people of Angel, but they all understood why Nate was angry, they could hear everything being said over the intercom.

That Ram attempted to rescue them, but was attacked and injured by Signal Flag and captured, with little chance of survival and a high chance of death.

Nate continued to kick the wall frantically, shouting in anger as he kicked.

"Idiot! Bastard! Damn you, you damn bastard, what chaos are you trying to cause! I told you to leave long ago, I told you to leave, you bastard!"

As if the wall was Ram, after kicking it a dozen times, Nate suddenly turned around, furiously shouting, "Get the wounded and bodies onto the helicopter, replenish ammunition on site, quick! Quick! Quick!"

The just-gathered Angels scattered in a flurry.

Nate, while taking all the grenades from a corpse, said sinisterly over the intercom, "There are only twenty Signal Flags here. Now no need to guess where the other Signal Flags were sent, they’ve found our secret base. So, abandon the original plan, prepare to rescue Ram, we can’t let Ram die here, absolutely not!"

There were enough remaining bullets, but the grenades were depleted. However, the grenades found on the enemy’s bodies were enough to replenish for a rescue operation, and as for heavy weapons like rocket launchers, there’s no need to replenish them because of the risk of injuring the hostage, even if we had them, we couldn’t use them.

After hurriedly replenishing ammunition, the members of Angel gathered again in front of the helicopter, Nate raised a hand and shouted, "I only have one request, save Ram, no matter the cost, we can all die here, we were going to die anyway, but we absolutely can’t let that damn idiot die here, understand!"

"Understood!"

Nate cursed under his breath, then harshly ordered, "Board the helicopter!"

Board the helicopter, take off.

Finally, Nate received the news he had been waiting for.

Receiving the coordinates from Ram’s bodyguard, Nate urgently asked, "Is it reliable? Can you confirm it? Tell me by what technical means Ram’s position was confirmed!"

"Our Boss’s watch can send location information, which is sent to our agent. I can’t receive it here, it can only be obtained after communicating with the agent, but the location information is absolutely reliable, with an error range of within a hundred meters. Nate, I’ve already informed Satan and our Boss’s friends, they will take rescue action, please do not act on your own, over."

Nate shouted angrily, "What the hell do you know! By the time your people get here, Ram will already be dead. We’re going to rescue Ram, that’s it!"

After shouting, Nate urgently said, "Coordinates update! The target has stopped moving, head to the latest coordinates immediately, quick!"

Telling the pilot to fly to the latest coordinates, Nate fell into silence.

"Colonel, why did Ram’s signal stop moving? Could it be...?"

Nate suddenly raised an arm, loudly stating, "He isn’t dead! He definitely isn’t dead! Ram isn’t that easy to kill, this guy is timid and afraid of dying, I know him too well, this guy will never let himself die, absolutely not!"

Not allowing any reasonable analysis, with Nate’s such a mystical statement, what’s the point of further analysis? Regardless, get to the signal’s position first.

After a while, Nate received another call from Ram’s bodyguard.

"The situation isn’t good, Nate, our Boss’s position hasn’t moved, this isn’t normal, it’s unreasonable. I just confirmed the location is in the suburbs, why would it be in the suburbs? We have friends who can talk with the KGB, but we’ve never been able to get any useful information. What do you think is going on?"

Nate exhaled, speaking in a deep voice, "I only know that it’s useless to find anyone now, we’ve already taken down the KGB’s base in Donetsk, the defense force is weak. My guess is that those people got the news, so they changed the destination, the most likely being that they’re temporarily interrogating Ram in the suburbs to find out our whereabouts. These are just my guesses, so I don’t know what’s really going on. Listen, unless the signal moves again, don’t call me, I have to focus on my task now!"

With that said, Nate angrily slammed a fist into the bulkhead of the helicopter.

Silence, dead silence.

"Approaching coordinates, ready to land."

It wasn’t until the pilot reported the location that Nate suddenly opened his eyes, which had been closed, and then he stood up, coldly saying, "Prepare!"

The helicopter landed, and Angel’s people split into two teams, quickly and silently moving toward the coordinates.

Nate suddenly raised his arm, causing the advancing team to halt abruptly.

"Eleven o’clock position, four hundred sixty meters, someone lying prone, hot signal detected, can’t verify if there are signs of life, no other heat sources detected."

Listening to the sniper’s quick report, Nate raised a thermal imager. After observing for a moment, he extended two fingers and softly instructed, "Go around and confirm if there are any enemies."

The team resumed action, continuing to close in on the person lying on the ground. Once they got within two hundred meters, Nate observed again.

Observation concluded, Nate sighed softly, "That’s a ram, I can tell, that’s a ram..."

Nate lowered his head and placed the night vision device he was holding in his left hand on the ground.

"No other heat sources around, no danger."

Nate raised his head and said in a deep voice, "Continue to approach, second team, stand by for cover."

Distance was closing again, getting closer and closer, when there were still forty to fifty meters to the person lying motionless on the ground, Nate suddenly let out a long sigh and raised his right arm.

Signaling the team to halt, Nate stood upright, took off his helmet, smoothed his pressed and deformed hair, and adjusted his clothes.

After tidying up his clothes, Nate put on his helmet, handed his rifle to the person next to him, stood solemnly, then swung his arms and walked towards Gao Yang with a highly standardized pace.

Six people formed a line behind Nate, holding their rifles at an angle across their chests, then one shouted loudly, "Attention! Double column! March!"

Nate reached Gao Yang, it was Gao Yang, no mistake, there couldn’t be a mistake.

Gao Yang lay on the ground face down, his right hand pressed under him, his left hand strapped to his back, motionless, without a sound.

Nate resisted the urge to turn Gao Yang over, removed his helmet with both hands. He held the helmet level in his left hand and stood at attention.

He put his heels together, snapped, and then saluted.

Nate maintained the salute posture without moving.

"Attention!"

"Uncover!"

"Salute!"

"Prepare to fire, ready!"

Just then, Nate suddenly heard an extremely faint sound.

"I’m not dead yet, help me..."

Nate’s eyes widened abruptly, he jumped up, lowered his saluting hand, and immediately knelt beside Gao Yang, flipping him over swiftly.

Gao Yang was turned over, slowly opening his eyes, holding a pistol in his right hand, but his arm was too weak to lift it.

Nate said urgently, "You’re not dead! How are you? Medic! Medic!"

Gao Yang exhaled lightly, speaking in a very weak voice, "Nate, I’m sorry..."

Nate trembled as he spoke, "What? What did you say? Do you have something to tell me? Say it, I’m listening!"

Gao Yang breathed out, raised his voice a bit, but still speaking very softly, "Buddy, I said, I’m sorry..."

A gunshot rang out, and Nate, kneeling on one knee, collapsed beside him, shot in the thigh of his supporting leg.

"Don’t move, if anyone moves, I’ll blow Nate’s brains out!"

Angel and a few others were stunned. Just when they were about to fire a salute for the mourning ceremony, suddenly the target flipped over, suddenly raised a gun, suddenly shot their team leader in the thigh, how could they not be dumbfounded.

Gao Yang lay on the ground, pointing a gun at Nate’s head, shouting, "It’s over! Now listen to me, leave here with me! Revenge is over, it’s all over, all you need to do is live and leave. Nate, don’t move, move again and I’ll shoot your other leg! I said I’m sorry, I said it in advance!"

Nate roared furiously, flipped up, trying to choke Gao Yang’s neck, causing him to be shot again in the left leg.

Gao Yang wrapped Nate’s neck, flipped over to pin Nate underneath him, using Nate as a shield against potential gunfire from others, pointed the pistol at Nate’s head, and shouted, "I already said sorry! Are you crazy enough yet? If so, then move your ass with me, now both your legs can’t move, no matter what you want to do, you can’t do anything! You can’t accomplish anything!"

Nate roared fiercely, using his right arm to frantically punch towards Gao Yang’s head, Gao Yang flipped again, used a ground choke technique to firmly hold Nate under him, and turned towards the few standing dumbfounded alongside him, not knowing whether to shoot his head, yelling wildly, "Help me! Do you want me to shoot his arm too?"

Nate was pinned to the ground, both legs shot, unable to muster any strength, his arms being firmly held down, unable to break free despite struggling.

"Ram! Ram! Ram! Ram..."

Apart from shouting "Ram," the furious and desperate Nate couldn’t say anything else, Gao Yang suddenly reached out, snatched the pistol from Nate’s waist and threw it aside, then pulled out a knife from Nate, throwing it aside too, and yelled right by Nate’s ear, "I said I’m sorry! Just lie down!"

He delivered a sharp blow to the back of Nate’s head, rendering Nate completely motionless, then Gao Yang flipped over, lying on the ground, and addressed those who hesitated, aiming their guns at him but hadn’t fired yet, "Are you all dumb? Medic! Medic!"
