Gao Yang strode into Nate’s hospital room, where all the members of Angel were gathered, making the not-so-large room feel completely packed.
Upon pushing the door open and seeing the people inside, Gao Yang felt somewhat uneasy because of the crowd; the stage was small, and as he stood inside, he was surrounded by people on all sides.
The people from Angel were quite formidable. If they were to exact a small revenge, like not breaking his legs but simply giving him a beating, Gao Yang would have no choice but to endure it, since the Angel bunch were quite fierce.
Despite feeling some fear, Gao Yang’s steps did not falter; he bravely walked into the midst of these intimidating individuals.
Nate, on the other hand, appeared quite calm. When he saw Gao Yang come in, he weakly said, "Please sit."
Immediately, someone placed the room’s only chair next to Nate’s bed, and Gao Yang sat down without hesitation.
Gao Yang felt uncomfortable all over, his back seemed to be on the verge of igniting from being stared at, and sweat began to flow, soon soaking through his shirt. But fortunately, Gao Yang still looked composed.
After Gao Yang sat down, Nate seemed a bit hesitant.
Nate was an arrogant person; inviting Gao Yang over yet being unable to speak meant he had something to ask of him.
Gao Yang was very insightful and understood Nate’s pride and concerns, so before Nate could speak, he casually said: "Since Angel is not finished, those items you gave me naturally will be returned to you. I’ll have Joseph bring them to you later."
Nate closed his eyes momentarily but quickly opened them again, slightly nodding to Gao Yang and saying, "Thank you. About that money, I mean, about the money..."
Gao Yang waved his hand and said, "Your funds should be quite tight, so continue using that money. Of course, it still must be paid back, but there’s no need to rush. I trust Angel’s capabilities. Once you start taking missions, you’ll be able to repay it quickly."
Nate felt a bit embarrassed, and those behind Gao Yang who had been tightly clenching their fists with the decision to teach him a lesson slowly relaxed.
Although Nate’s legs had been shot through, Ram was still Angel’s big creditor, and beating up a creditor is no problem unless they start demanding repayment, which wouldn’t be good. For this reason, many who had been thinking of getting revenge on Gao Yang reconsidered.
Nate, looking rather awkward, didn’t respond, while Gao Yang waved his hand, casually saying, "You’ve always wanted to play around with establishing a country, but now it seems such matters require waiting for the right opportunity."
Nate couldn’t help but say, "No, it’s not just for fun."
"Alright, it’s not just for fun. You’re thinking about establishing a country."
"It’s not about establishing a country; it’s more about control. Controlling a country is unrealistic; controlling its military is enough."
"Okay, so it’s about secretly controlling a country, right? Control the military, and you control the country. It’s actually achievable, though difficult, but as long as you find the right nation and the right opportunity, it’s not impossible. You’ve suffered too many losses and need to replenish and strengthen your forces. Recruiting personnel is unavoidable; do you have any thoughts?"
Nate’s pale face regained some vitality, and he nodded before subtly waving his hand to quietly say, "You can leave now."
The remaining people in the room filed out, and soon the room was left with just Gao Yang and Nate, allowing Gao Yang to feel the invisible pressure dissipate completely.
With the room empty, Nate said quietly, "We had just discussed things a bit, and I think what you said makes sense. We indeed should take on some responsibilities. I’ve decided that Angel will enroll a batch of new members, recruiting them from German veterans. We’ll also expand the scale to around a hundred members; if numbers are too small, it doesn’t do enough for low-level officer training, and our members will no longer be lifetime members. I plan to update them every three to five years."
Gao Yang’s eyebrows rose slightly as he smiled and said, "That’s a good idea."
Nate quietly said, "If possible, I hope to get soldiers and officers who exhibit outstanding ambition and have them join, letting them experience actual warfare and feel the battlefield atmosphere. Updating members every few years allows more military personnel to join. We can’t personally identify and select the right talents, so I hope to receive a list from the Inspector General with details on the qualified veterans. I’ll personally talk to them. I’d like your help as a middleman to facilitate this since it wouldn’t be appropriate for me to go directly."
Gao Yang’s eyebrows twitched twice uncontrollably before he smiled and said, "No problem."
Nate sighed lightly, saying, "Thank you."
Gao Yang leaned in, a look of concern on his face, saying, "But what name do you plan to use for recruitment?"
"Naturally, under the Angel Mercenary Corps name."
Gao Yang sincerely said, "With numbers exceeding a hundred, a mercenary group draws too much attention, making operations troublesome. You might as well recruit under the PMC name, which is more readily accepted and attracts less attention."
Nate seemed worried and said quietly, "Having too many people does present problems, but it’s worth it. As for using the PMC name, the battles we can participate in are limited."
Gao Yang sighed and said, "Our company still lacks a team that can operate independently and conduct activities in Yemen in an organized fashion, fighting formal battles with full equipment like tanks, aircraft, artillery, and even surface-to-surface missile forces. I like to help people all the way. If you’re willing to expand, I can offer you this opportunity."
Nate glanced sideways at Gao Yang, looking surprised and said, "Going to Yemen?"
Gao Yang shrugged and said, "As a friend, I wouldn’t offer you this opportunity if it weren’t for friendship. Your prices are certainly higher than what I’d spend recruiting people in America, but who else to help if not me? Of course, if you’re unwilling, that’s fine; I’m glad to save some money."
Nate shifted his glance back and said softly, "Well, it’s worth considering."
Gao Yang moved closer to Nate again, smiling and saying, "If you agree, I’ll leave the Jupiter Troop code name for you. Also, we are about to retire, very soon, but the name Satan cannot disappear. Do you think..."
Nate responded firmly, "No!"
"You haven’t heard what I want to say yet."
"Absolutely not. Angel must either disappear or keep fighting, but Angel will never become Satan, absolutely impossible!"
