Chapter 63: Chapter 63- Just a kiss

Ashley woke up earlier than expected and thoroughly searched her room because of Clara’s warning about hidden cameras. She was finally reassured when she found nothing, neither in the room nor in the bathroom.

After tidying up the mess she had made, she went into the bathroom to take a bath before heading out with Esther later.

After undressing, Ashley picked up her phone and lifted her top slightly to take a selfie, carefully keeping her arm over her chest. She added a short message before sending the picture to Clara.

Then she enjoyed her shower while thinking about what she wanted to buy that day.

Afterward, she changed into something simple. A tank top and a pair of jeans were perfect for the warm weather.

A few hours later, at almost 11 a.m., Ashley heard a knock on her door.

It was Esther, wearing a long dress, sunglasses, and a cap.

"Hey, I figured you’d need these," Esther said, handing Ashley another cap and a pair of sunglasses.

"I don’t think anyone would recognize me even without these," Ashley said, taking them. She didn’t think they were necessary for her, unlike Esther, who was already famous.

"Trust me. The paparazzi who want pictures of me already know we’re friends," Esther explained.

That made sense when Ashley thought about it.

She never would have imagined that one day she’d have to go out in public in disguise simply because she was friends with a celebrity.

"Wait! We have to immortalize this moment," Esther said before pulling out her phone to take a selfie.

Then they left the hotel. Esther carefully looked around to make sure no one was following them before they hailed a taxi.

"I still can’t believe your girlfriend has people following you twenty-four seven," Esther said, glancing at a car behind them.

"Do you think they’d stop following us if we asked them to?" she asked.

"Yeah, probably," Ashley replied.

She had never actually tried, but she was sure Clara had assigned people to protect her from a distance so she could still have some semblance of privacy.

"Does she get reports about everything you do?" Esther asked.

To Esther, it was crazy that Clara had assigned someone to protect Ashley when they weren’t even married yet. She found it a little invasive, but she had also noticed that Ashley didn’t seem bothered by it.

"They report everything I do to her," Ashley replied.

She didn’t really care about Clara’s employees following her around, and she sometimes even forgot they were there. Besides, she preferred having them around to being kidnapped again.

When they arrived downtown, they entered a large shopping mall.

Ashley no longer knew what else to buy, but it was still fun to go shopping somewhere new and with a new friend.

After hours of trying on clothes and visiting different sections of the mall, they bought dresses, hats, sunglasses, handbags, and more.

By the time they were done, Ashley was carrying three shopping bags in each hand.

"I think we’ve bought enough for today," Ashley said, noticing that Esther was already much more tired than she was, since they had only taken a short lunch break before getting back to shopping.

"Not yet. We still have one last thing to buy," Esther informed her.

"What?" Ashley asked.

As far as she was concerned, they already had more than enough, but Esther clearly thought otherwise.

"We haven’t bought any lingerie yet," Esther said before walking into another section of the store.

Ashley followed her and found herself in a completely different part of the mall, where all kinds of men’s and women’s lingerie were displayed.

Ashley wasn’t particularly impressed. She had already seen lingerie in every color imaginable and had tried hundreds of different styles. Besides, Clara loved buying her lingerie for every occasion simply because she enjoyed seeing Ashley wear it.

"Hey, Ashley, do you think this would look good on me?" Esther asked, holding up a thong.

"You’ll have to try it on," Ashley replied.

Ring ring!!!

Esther glanced at her phone for a moment with a sad expression before putting it back in her bag.

Ashley had noticed her ignoring calls several times, but she had never asked why. It wasn’t her business, but if Esther wanted to talk about it, Ashley would be there to listen.

Esther picked out several pieces in her size and in different colors before taking them to the register and paying for them.

"This time, we’re done," she announced.

"Are you sure you don’t want anything?" Esther asked.

"I’m sure," Ashley replied.

A few minutes later, they left the mall with yet another shopping bag, but Esther still didn’t look satisfied.

Ashley wondered why. Surely it couldn’t have anything to do with shopping anymore.

"Look across the street," Esther said.

Ashley turned and saw someone taking pictures of them.

"You’re right. They’re really good at this," Ashley said.

"Yeah. He’s been following us since the hotel. I saw him when I turned around to check on your bodyguards," Esther added.

She decided to ignore the man as long as he kept his distance from them. They decided to take another taxi.

Ring ring!!

The phone rang again, and Esther sighed in frustration.

"Who’s been calling you over and over?" Ashley finally asked.

"My mom," Esther replied.

That only made Ashley more confused. She hadn’t known what kind of relationship Esther had with her family.

"And... why aren’t you answering her?" Ashley asked.

After a few seconds of hesitation, Esther finally answered.

"Today is my nineteenth birthday."

Ashley was surprised by the news. She had no idea it was her friend’s birthday.

"I bought plane tickets for my parents so they could come celebrate with me, but they didn’t come. My mom is afraid of flying, and my dad is busy with work," Esther admitted.

Ashley finally understood that Esther wasn’t frustrated. She was simply sad.

"I think you should just answer their calls and forgive them," Ashley said.

"I don’t know about you, but my parents never came to any of my birthdays. Actually, they never came at all. So, if you ask me, your parents aren’t that bad," Ashley explained, giving her opinion as an orphan.

She expected Esther to be upset by her unsolicited advice, but Esther actually took it quite well. She even gave Ashley a hug to comfort her.

"I’ll call them when we get back to the hotel," Esther said.

"Good," Ashley replied.

"But why didn’t you tell me it was your nineteenth birthday? I could have bought you a gift if I’d known," Ashley asked.

"It wasn’t really a secret. I just didn’t feel like celebrating this year."

"It’s not too late. We’ll find something when we get back to the hotel," Esther said.

When they arrived at the hotel, Esther called her family and accepted their birthday wishes over the phone instead of receiving them in person, as she had hoped.

Since Ashley had insisted on getting Esther a gift, she came up with an idea and invited Ashley into her room with all the clothes Ashley had bought.

Esther wanted Ashley to put on a private fashion show for her.

She had even brought out a bottle of wine so they could enjoy the show with a drink in their hands.

When Ashley asked why she had a bottle of wine in her room, Esther said that she drank sometimes because it helped her fall asleep.

It vaguely sounded like the beginning of a drinking problem.

"Are you ready?" Ashley called before stepping out of the bathroom.

She was wearing a yellow summer dress with a hat to protect her from the sun.

"I bought this one for when I go to the beach," Ashley said, turning around to show off the dress.

Clap clap clap!!

"That looks great on you. Don’t forget to invite me when you go to the beach," Esther said, applauding before taking a drink straight from the bottle because she didn’t have a glass.

Ashley took the bottle as well and had a drink. Somehow, everything seemed more fun with alcohol involved.

She went back into the bathroom and returned a few seconds later wearing another dress.

"I bought this one for when I go to a club," Ashley said, moving her hips slightly before turning around.

"Wow, you look amazing!" Esther said, getting up to admire the dress and Ashley.

It was a red dress with a single sleeve on the left side that perfectly accentuated Ashley’s figure. The dress came well above her knees and highlighted her figure, which had become a little more defined since she started going to the gym.

"Can I touch it?" Esther asked as she approached her.

Then, without waiting for Ashley’s answer, she placed both hands just below Ashley’s armpits and slowly ran them down along her sides, tracing the graceful curves of Ashley’s figure.

"I’m so jealous. None of my dresses look as good on me as this one looks on you, and I bought way more clothes than you did," Esther said.

"That’s not true at all. You have that white dress that makes you look like a goddess," Ashley argued.

"Really?" Esther asked before emptying one of her shopping bags onto the bed and searching through it.

Unlike Ashley, Esther didn’t go into the bathroom to change. She changed in front of Ashley, knowing perfectly well that Ashley was a lesbian.

Ashley couldn’t help glancing at Esther for a moment while she changed. Esther was wearing a pretty purple bra and matching underwear. Since she usually wore fairly loose dresses, Ashley hadn’t really noticed before, but Esther had a curvier figure than she had realized.

Then Esther put on the famous white dress.

"Wait," Ashley said before taking a picture of her.

She showed Esther the photo, and Esther looked very proud of the result.

"Let’s just say we both look like goddesses," Ashley said.

Esther then took the dress off and had another drink, without even putting her first dress back on. She then passed the bottle to Ashley, who took a drink as well.

The rest of the fashion show consisted of Ashley trying on everything she had bought.

"Actually, I got you something," Esther said before rummaging through one of her bags.

Ashley was a little surprised and touched that her friend had bought her something. She also wondered what it was.

A few seconds later, Esther revealed a pretty pink lingerie set.

Ashley had no idea why Esther had bought it for her, but she was tipsy enough not to make a big deal out of it. They were having fun together, and that was what mattered.

Ashley went back into the bathroom to change into it and returned about thirty seconds later.

"I didn’t think it would be my size, but I was wrong," Ashley said as she stepped out of the bathroom.

Unsurprisingly, the pink lingerie fit her surprisingly well. The soft color complemented her complexion and naturally accentuated her figure. Her long legs and graceful curves gave her an especially elegant appearance, almost as if the set had been chosen specifically for her.

Esther stared at her for a few seconds without saying a word, visibly surprised by the result. She adjusted her hair slightly before smiling.

"So, what’s the verdict?" Ashley asked.

Still only half-dressed, Esther took a long drink before approaching Ashley.

"Let me think about it first," she said, walking around Ashley and looking at her from different angles.

It wasn’t the first time Esther had seen Ashley like this, but it was the first time she’d seen her that way in private, with alcohol already running through her system.

"It’s perfect," she said after swallowing.

"I think so too. Thanks for buying this for me," Ashley said.

"You’re welcome," Esther replied before handing the bottle to Ashley.

Ashley took a long sip. She also noticed that Esther kept looking at her, but it didn’t bother her in the slightest.

She decided to put her original clothes back on, but kept the lingerie underneath.

Then she lay down on the bed, looking up at the ceiling as they talked for a while.

"Good thing we have more alcohol to drink, or I think we’d both have a hangover tomorrow," Esther said, clearly the more intoxicated of the two.

"Yeah. I don’t think you should drink alcohol too often. You could end up developing a dependency," Ashley said.

"You’re right," Esther replied, turning toward Ashley.

She gradually moved closer to Ashley, who was still lying on her back, until their faces were only a few inches apart.

"You know what I’m thinking?" Esther asked, making Ashley turn her gaze toward her.

"You want to kiss me," Ashley replied, since Esther’s behavior throughout the evening had already made it obvious.

"Can I?" Esther asked, her eyes burning with desire as she held Ashley’s gaze.

"Only if it’s just a kiss," Ashley replied.

Esther didn’t answer right away. Her gaze remained fixed on Ashley’s lips for a few seconds before she slowly leaned toward her.

Their lips met in a kiss that was gentle and hesitant at first. Esther felt the warmth of Ashley’s lips against hers and softly closed her eyes. Their breathing mingled, uneven, as the kiss gradually deepened.

She gently placed one hand on Ashley’s hip as their bodies pressed closer together, their lips moving slowly with growing passion. The kiss gradually became deeper and more intense without losing its tenderness.

Ashley felt Esther catch her breath between kisses before coming back for her lips. Eventually, unable to resist herself, Esther straddled her. It was already more than just a kiss, but Ashley was far too caught up in the moment to remember the boundary she had set.

Their breathing and soft moans mingled in the silence of the room. Esther was completely captivated by the softness of Ashley’s lips and her intoxicating scent, and she wanted to go further.

She tried to slip her hand under Ashley’s tank top, but Ashley caught her hand as if she had expected it, though she didn’t break the kiss.

When they finally pulled apart by a few inches, their breaths remained mingled. Esther looked into Ashley’s eyes, her face slightly flushed, before whispering:

"Sorry," she apologized for what she had just done, even though she wasn’t really sorry.

Ashley gave her a small smile.

"Don’t be," she replied before giving her a little kiss.
