Millionaire Girlfriend

Chapter 72 - Fight for her

Chapter 72: Chapter 72 - Fight for her

It was almost noon, and the bright sunlight covered the road as a beautiful black luxury car cruised down the asphalt. Its tinted windows reflected the blue sky, while the engine hummed with barely contained power.

Behind the wheel, Clara calmly drove along the almost empty road as it cut through a huge forest, with tall trees stretching along both sides.

In the passenger seat, Ashley was still resting after the party, which had lasted until late the night before.

"Let me know when you get tired so I can drive," Ashley said as she opened her eyes.

Unlike Clara, she was exhausted and had a terrible hangover after drinking with her girlfriend’s family until late into the night.

"Don’t worry. I’m not tired," Clara replied honestly.

This wasn’t her first rodeo. She was used to driving even with the worst hangovers without any problems.

Besides, if she really got too tired to drive, she could always call a driver to take them home or even fly back by helicopter, like her parents did. But she had insisted on driving herself because she wanted to spend some time alone with Ashley.

After their relationship had taken such a big hit, Clara had made it her goal to win Ashley’s heart back. And after two months of trying, it seemed like she was finally on the right track.

The passionate look Ashley used to give her had finally returned.

That was why Clara wanted them to make more good memories together, especially since their careers often forced them to spend long periods apart.

Aside from that, things had pretty much gone back to normal.

Well... almost.

The problem wasn’t Ashley.

It was Clara.

Ever since she had discovered that the woman she loved had fallen in love with someone else, Clara had become a little insecure.

She was afraid it might happen again.

That was why she had started keeping a closer eye on Ashley.

Just two days after the movie’s celebration party, Clara had secretly installed spyware on all of Ashley’s communication devices. She especially wanted to know whether Ashley and Esther would keep in touch.

And they did.

Even though their conversations were completely innocent, especially on Ashley’s side, the two of them still talked quite often.

There was nothing Clara could do about it.

She couldn’t exactly demand that Ashley cut all contact with Esther. That would only make her look pathetic.

Thankfully, after a few weeks, their conversations became less frequent, and the tone of their messages changed too.

They had gone from things like ’Send me a picture of you’ to simple messages like ’How are you today?’

Now, two months later, Ashley and Esther only talked about once a week.

And to make things even better, Esther was dating someone now.

She was seeing Donald, the guy who had played her boyfriend in the movie.

Apparently, Donald had always had feelings for Esther, but unfortunately for him, he hadn’t been able to do anything about them because Esther had only had eyes for Ashley.

But after a heartbroken Esther had opened up to him, he had immediately gotten on a plane and spent a weekend at her family’s ranch.

He had claimed he was just going there for a little vacation.

But his real goal had been to win her over.

And in the end, he had succeeded.

"Good job, Donald," Clara thought to herself, secretly wanting to give him a high five, even though he was thousands of miles away.

Clara glanced at Ashley, who was sleeping with her head pressed against the car window.

She lowered her gaze, taking in Ashley’s body. She was wearing a pretty red dress that, when she was sitting down, barely reached above her knees.

Keeping her eyes on the road, Clara held the steering wheel with one hand before slowly moving her other hand onto Ashley’s thigh.

Knowing exactly what Clara had in mind, Ashley pushed her hand away.

But Clara didn’t give up. She placed her hand back on Ashley’s thigh and slowly began sliding it upward, taking the hem of Ashley’s dress with her until she reached her inner thighs.

"Keep your hands on the wheel," Ashley demanded, her eyes still closed.

"Don’t worry. I can drive with one hand," Clara replied with a smile.

Then, Clara slipped her hand beneath Ashley’s underwear and began gently touching her.

Ashley’s breathing, which had been calm because she had simply wanted to sleep, gradually became heavier. Despite herself, she could feel the warmth between her thighs, but she still tried to continue sleeping.

However, Clara gradually increased the pace, causing Ashley to let out a moan despite herself.

She finally decided to open her eyes, sit upright, and slightly spread her thighs to make things easier for Clara.

Clara’s smile grew wider, and she became even more enthusiastic.

"Keep your eyes on the road," Ashley ordered when Clara looked at her for a little too long.

Clara obeyed, but her hand continued to pleasure Ashley, making her moan with excitement.

Since there was almost no one else on the road, Clara couldn’t resist looking at Ashley and her sensual expressions from time to time.

Seeing Ashley like that, Clara thought this was the best moment of her life.

A unique and unforgettable moment that nothing could ruin.

But then...

BANG! BANG!

Just as their car was cruising down the road without a care in the world, the rear window suddenly shattered.

"What the hell?" Clara said, quickly pulling her hand away from Ashley and grabbing the steering wheel as the car nearly swerved out of control.

She turned around and saw another car directly behind them.

Inside the vehicle, she saw a man with his upper body sticking out of the window, holding a gun.

"ASHLEY, GET DOWN!" Clara shouted, ducking just before a hail of bullets tore through the car.

The sudden attack made her lose control of the vehicle. The car swerved off the road and went down the slope.

Clara slammed on the brakes just before they could crash into a tree, but because of the steep slope, the car still ended up stopping against another tree.

"Ashley, are you okay?" Clara asked, turning toward her as she quickly unbuckled her seat belt.

"Yes, I’m okay," Ashley replied in a panic, struggling to release her seat belt.

Clara immediately leaned over and helped her get it off.

"Who the hell are those people? Why are they shooting at us?" Ashley asked, her voice trembling with fear.

Just moments ago, she had been moaning in pleasure.

Now, she was terrified for her life.

"I don’t know, but we need to get out of here before they come back," Clara said, pulling a handgun from a hidden compartment inside the car.

She opened the door and stepped out.

Looking up toward the road, she saw three masked men approaching them.

They were heavily armed.

The moment they spotted Clara, they raised their weapons and opened fire.

Clara immediately threw herself behind the front of the car to avoid the bullets.

Ashley was lucky enough to be on the other side of the vehicle, where the attackers had a harder time getting a clear shot at her.

The moment the gunfire started, she dropped to the ground and covered both ears with her hands.

Tears streamed down her face as she curled up in fear, convinced she was going to die.

"ASHLEY! ASHLEY!" Clara shouted, grabbing her and shaking her hard to snap her out of it.

Clara tightened her grip around the handgun.

There were only seven bullets left.

And she was facing three heavily armed men.

They were in serious trouble.

"Whatever you do, don’t get up," Clara warned, keeping her eyes on the three men.

The attackers had stopped shooting.

They were about ten yards away and were slowly approaching the car.

Clara took a slow breath.

Then another.

She held the gun with both hands, carefully visualizing the exact positions of her targets as she waited for the right moment to fire.

Then

BANG!

Clara fired a single shot.

The three men immediately returned fire.

She ducked behind the car again as bullets slammed into the vehicle around her.

"Where the hell are those bodyguards when we actually need them?" Clara muttered.

A security vehicle had followed them when they left the wedding, but for some reason, her guards still hadn’t shown up.

The three attackers advanced more cautiously now.

Clara’s single shot had managed to graze one of them.

That was enough to make them realize she was a very good shot.

"Be careful. She’s a good shooter," one of the men warned.

"You take the left. We’ll take the right," another man ordered.

But just as they were about to split up

BANG!

BANG!

BANG!

All three men immediately dropped to the ground to avoid the bullets.

"That bitch... she got me again," one of them groaned, rolling onto his stomach as blood began spreading across his clothes.

"Get back to the car before you bleed out! We’ll finish the mission," another man ordered.

The two remaining attackers moved apart, slowly circling the vehicle to surround Clara and Ashley.

But Clara was already alone behind the car.

She had forced Ashley to crawl away and escape while she stayed behind to draw their attention.

"I can’t believe I’m going to die like this," Clara muttered.

Blood was slowly soaking through the back of her dress.

One of the bullets had struck her in the back when she had jumped over the car several seconds earlier.

At first, she hadn’t felt any pain.

She hadn’t told Ashley because she didn’t want to frighten her even more.

But now, the pain was becoming unbearable.

Clara looked ahead.

Ashley was nowhere in sight.

"Ah, ah... I forgot how fast she is," Clara said with a faint smile.

Despite everything, she felt a little relieved.

Even if she died, at least the love of her life was going to make it out alive.
