It was late afternoon already and already there was a slight chill in the air.

Night was approaching and Sly didn’t want to be in the woods after sunset.

He lost track of how long he had been running for life and with his body winded and out of breath Sly started to slow down.

Another top tier alpha and his cronies surrounded Sly as he leaned with his back against a tree for support too exhausted to move.

Feeling cursed, Sly could only stare blankly at the person in front of him.

"Sly Foxx, as of this moment our engagement is off. I love Victor and since we’ll all be attending Paradise Military Academy, let’s not make this situation anymore uncomfortable than it already is. Do yourself a favor when you see us on campus, just avoid us and don’t come near either of us again or I’ll kill you."

Engagement?

This must be one of Commander Duncan’s petty games to grab his attention but since he was no longer affiliated with the Duncan family, this engagement didn’t matter.

Still, he didn’t like the way this arrogant alpha was looking at him, who does he think he is?

Was this scum that was twice his size looking for a fight?

As far as Sly was concerned these two were a match made in heaven.

Knowing Victor he had probably had no interest in William until he heard he was engaged to Sly.

Victor always stole and broke his toys from kids even when he owned more than three times the amount.

It was never enough and he wasn’t satisfied unless he caused Sly pain.

Sly could see Victor going out of his way to woo this guy especially when he differentiated into a top tier alpha.

Being with this alpha would make Victor’s popularity explode amongst their social circle.

Victor had an inferiority complex when it came to Sly and he always had to prove that he was better than his sibling.

Clearly this scum was very dumb to have his spoiled half-brother as a white moonlight in his heart.

Sly wouldn’t waste his time arguing or knocking sense into someone so stupid.

Now Victor’s suitor was here only on his behalf to break off the engagement.

His friends had all heard about Sly from William but none of them had expected him to be so good looking and Sly couldn’t hide the emotions on his face.

So William’s circle of friends wanted to tease and bully Sly, reveling in his discomfort.

William continued, "I’m still waiting on your answer and it better be the one I want or you will die today in these woods. You’ve been warned don’t stalk us on campus, especially Victor who wants nothing to do with you. You are not even worthy to lick his combat boots. You don’t even deserve to be related by blood to him as there is a clear gap in skills, a line that you can never cross, understand?"

Like a pack of hyenas his friends started making rude jokes about Sly’s body, mocking him to his face and repeating what the guy called William announced.

Furious Sly retorted, "This engagement being off is a great idea, since I wasn’t aware of it in the first place and never gave my consent. Besides if I had my choice in the matter I would never choose someone lacking in the looks department. I already have a S-tier alpha pestering and chasing after me so why would I settle for a lower tier alpha."

Silence.

One could hear a pin drop.

To this group Sly’s words were unbelievable.

S-class alpha’s were very few and none would settle for some damaged goods from the country when they could have the best of the city.

To them Sly was making things up to hide his embarrassment at having his engagement broken in front of a group of strangers.

When it should have been a private moment.

William clearly lacked decency and respect when it came to little omega.

Who was now challenging him and refusing to back down or cowering in fear.

Clearly none of them expected Sly to speak or defend himself and the amazement showed on their faces, they all froze not knowing how their sensitive leader was going to react.

Since in his anger the aggressive alpha might really kill this petite omega in front of them.

William wasn’t the best looking in the world but he wasn’t exactly ugly either.

Plainly speaking, his A-tier status got him things and into places that some of his friends desired for themselves.

This omega probably even struggled to reach D-tier so he should have been disappointed to lose out on marrying an A-tier alpha.

The fact that this shy looking omega even dared to bring up an alpha’s looks was a sore subject for them all since even reaching A-tier in everything seemed unattainable so S-class was a hopeless dream to many.

Sly wasn’t finished with William not by a longshot.

"Whoever I marry in the future is none of your business and I can sleep relieved knowing that I won’t have to put a pillow over my lover’s face."

William’s friends gasped, this omega was seeking death especially since the alpha facing him was twice his size.

Fists were clenched and Wiliam’s mottled faced filled with rage was beet red and sweating from every pore anger radiated outwards to Sly.

In Sly’s mind, William was already dismissed and he turned to walk away from the group. When William held on tightly to Sly’s right arm.

Upset, Sly shouted, "Let go moron, you’re hurting me!"

Instead of letting go the alpha tightened his crushing grip on Sly’s arm which would surely leave red marks on Sly’s tender skin.

"Are you deaf?!"

After raising his voice at the dense alpha, outraged Sly started to pummel William but his tiny fists had no impact since he wasn’t a trained fighter yet.

Suddenly the panicked voices of his friends was coming from behind William.

Blinded by rage the alpha was oblivious to their words.

Until William was forced to let go by an alpha that was three times his size and emitting dangerous S-tier pheromones.

That instantly weakened William’s mind and drove him to his knees in surrender but the A-tier alpha refused to back down without a fight.
