The medic watching everything unfold in the space of a few minutes took a packet of dried plum fruit from his pocket and offered it to Sly.

Before Verde could decline on Sly’s behalf, Sly greedily snatched the snack from the medic’s hand and thanked the medic profusely.

Sly didn’t waste time opening the packet he dived in and tasted the first dried plum, not too sweet, not too sour, perfect!

After treating the guardians there were two left that needed to be hospitalized so the ambulance took them and left.

A bus came for the spirit guardians, leaving Sly Foxx and Verde Green alone.

Verde introduced his exhausted uncle and assistant to Sly and while they were discussing having the hybrid manchineel orchard destroyed, Sly politely munched away on dried plums.

Ever since his differentiation Sly had been experiencing uncontrollable hunger and his body needed additional rest.

They both decided to go to the abandoned watchtower that was always empty to have their private conversation.

It was easy to pick the old lock and slip through the doorway at the foot of the stairs.

Shelby was acting nervous and agitated,almost like he had a hidden personality, one that Khaldun didn’t have a clue or know about.

Continuously glancing around, to make sure that no other sentinels were nearby and the vicinity of the watchtower remained empty.

"Khaldun, I brought you up here to confess that I have always liked you. I have always wanted more from you. Please say you’ll be mine."

Hands trembling, he was supposed to pour the vial on Khaldun but instead it slipped out of his hands and splattered all over the floor.

Shelby put his lips on Khaldun’s but it was like a big mistake, Khaldun broke out of his trance like state from being stunned by the drug induced atmosphere filled with cheap omega pheromones.

The S-tier alpha immediately recoiled from the grasp of his best friend who had been undressing in front of him and groping his body.

Shelby’s hands were pulling on his zipper, his naked body was pressed against Khaldun’s fully clothed body, so close they could hear each other’s hearts racing.

Khaldun supposed that Shelby was doing his best to molest his body, in order to whet his appetite, entice him and keep him engaged but he was failing miserably.

There was no passion between them, no spark, Khaldun just felt so detached from the current situation happening with Shelby and worst of all his hands felt invasive.

He shoved Shelby so hard the A-tier alpha landed on his butt in shock, mouth still gaping.

The Royal Alpha’s gaze was hostile towards Shelby, cold, unfeeling the eyes of a stranger not the usual warmth and friendliness.

Repulsed, Khadun came to his senses, without saying a word he turned to leave the watchtower.

Khadun stomped down the stairs, probably breaking a few more steps in his anger at being toyed with by his best friend.

Shelby shouted, "Khaldun, don’t leave me this way!"

He expected his best friend to return if it was even out of pity.
