Undeterred, Sly just yanked his shirt tail out of the captain’s grip and walked away to where another squad member had fallen.
Wow.
Speechless, the look on the captain’s face was dumbfounded then it turned downright miserable as he continued to watch Sly’s every move as he flocked to the different healing sentinels.
His second in command watched the Captain’s face and said nothing.
The Captain’s face had turned a mottled red and it had nothing to do with the wasp stings or his injuries.
He knew the Captain very well, to think that he would allow his emotions to be affected by a naive omega guide was entertaining.
The captain who acted so aloof and avoided matchmaking was actively chasing after an omega who wasn’t even interested in him.
The one Sly was working on now had passed out repeatedly from the pain, currently the beta sentinel was barely lucid suffering in agony from multiple wasp stings.
The beta had water blisters all over his face and skin where his protective gear had been shredded by the aggression from multiple wasps.
Eyes widened, jaws dropped, it felt like abject public humiliation even though that really was not the case Sly was starting to act like a responsible little omega guide.
Shocked at being rejected when the captain was used to omega’s admiring and obeying him as a captain the alpha sentinel stared at Sly’s retreating back in disbelief.
The captain shook his head, was Sly Foxx really a B tier guide?
His regular guide who he often visited after missions, and possessed both mental and heal abilities also could not have done for him what Sly accomplished today.
It would take several repeat visits for that experienced A-tier omega guide to bring his Toxicity Level down to the minimum.
Yet Sly Foxx did it so effortlessly, especially when he was a beginner still in training at the Guide Learning Center, so unbelievable.
The captain had a match rate with his regular guide of 87% and Sly had a much lower rate of 33% and no matter how the captain puzzled over it, the comparison still gave him a headache.
In a heartbeat the captain would feel no regrets over ending the current contract with his dedicated guide just to have Sly Foxx stay by his side 24/7.
Even now the captain still felt like he was floating on cloud 9, the feeling from Sly using his ability powers on him was euphoric and highly addictive.
He wanted to make Sly his exclusive guide before others got word, a guide with his superb abilities and potential for growth would not stay secret for too long.
Sensing that Sly was nearing his limit Verde went over to his side, "Sly, that’s enough now. I know you have a good heart but I can hear sirens from the ambulance and the medics will handle the rest. You need to know your limits and take better care of yourself."
Sly frowned but the medics arrived and took over leaving Sly with nothing to do but go home and rest.
Tomorrow, was the official ceremony to celebrate the 175th anniversary of Paradise Miliary Academy and everyone was expected to be in attendance.
Verde led Sly over to a seating area and told him to sit on any of the benches.
While he spoke with the medics giving them a brief synopsis of all that transpired to his knowledge.
"Yes, my uncle and assistant are fine. I’m more worried about the spirit guardians because ..."
Sly’s stomach grumbled again and he remembered that he still had some of the spirit fruits in his pocket.
He chose the farthest bench away from Verde and the others and started devouring the tiny fruits one by one, occasionally spitting out the seeds.
Verde happened to glance over in Sly’s direction and saw what he was eating, he couldn’t even get mad with Sly but he would be lying if he said he didn’t feel an inkling of disappointment with him.
To sneak away in a corner just to hide away and eat the remainder of his stash of poisonous fruit in secret, he looked like a mouse happily nibbling on the mutated fruits.
There was no hope for this idiot.
"So what became of the mutated wasps?" inquired the medic.
When Verde didn’t answer at first the medic nudged him and he turned his gaze away from watching Sly like a hawk guiltily.
Verde was still unclear with himself about his personal feelings when it came to Sly.
He didn’t know why he felt so guilty in the first place.
"Earth to Verde, what are you looking at? Hurry up and give me the important details so that we can leave this place, it gives me the creeps," snapped the medic.
Sly started coughing, because he was stuffing his face trying to devour all of the fruit before Verde returned to retrieve him.
He was just repeatedly taking big bites and not chewing up the spirit fruit before swallowing.
So, Sly ended up choking on the spirit fruit.
Verde went over and smacked Sly’s back until a large chunk of fruit came flying out of Sly’s mouth.
"Is that more of the poisonous fruit that I told you not to eat? I even wasted an expensive detoxification pill on you. I trusted you and you hid those spirit fruits away from me. Empty out your pockets."
Verde didn’t hesitate to search Sly this time around, even making him remove his combat boots just to be sure.
Under the indigent and oppressive aura of the enraged A+ tier sentinel Sly simply obeyed and allowed Verde to search and destroy all of his hidden pockets full of spirit fruit.
When Verde used a flame thrower on the stack of discarded fruits, tears came to Sly’s eyes.
He wasn’t happy with Verde now and he had motivation to take his lessons with Khaldun seriously so that he could beat up Verde for destroying the delicious spirit fruit for no reason.
Maybe it was a good thing Verde didn’t know what violent thoughts were currently on Sly’s mind.
Verde felt pity for Sy and said, "Come, I’ll take you home now."
