“This is my first time experiencing a separation, and I'm really a bit reluctant to let go.”

After Melody left, Anna's mood was a bit low.

“You're not still thinking about eating her, are you?”

Loren was a bit suspicious of Anna's motives.

“At first, I did want to eat her, but after getting to know her, that thought disappeared...”

“Alright, looks like I really did misunderstand you...”

By now, everyone had boarded the hot air balloon, preparing to head to the territory of the God of Night and Thunder. This time, they didn't plan to pass through the God of Plague's domain.

By the time they arrived at the Uridia Kingdom, it was already night, but here, night and day weren't much different.

Loren casually found an inn, planning to rest for the night before setting off again. All that was left was to take the train back.

Seeing how persistent she was, Anna simply yielded her position, a knowing smile crossing her face.

“Is something the matter?”

Loren, sensing something off about Cecelia, asked.

Ever since the Sea God's ritual, Cecelia had been like this. She always seemed to want to say something but never did.

Through [Sensitive Heart], Loren could feel her fear and her worry for him.

“It's nothing...”

Cecelia said nothing, simply holding onto Loren tightly.

“Alright...”

Since she wouldn't say, Loren didn't press. He had already guessed most of it anyway.

“Goodnight...”

Loren hugged her back, trying to make her feel more at ease.

She was never good at expressing her feelings with words, to the point that she had directly replaced Scarlett's spot but still couldn't say what she wanted to.

Cecelia closed her eyes, her breathing gradually calming down.

But Cecelia's demeanor that night wasn't as peaceful as it seemed. Loren suddenly opened his eyes in the middle of the night; Cecelia, who had been in his arms, had vanished.

Loren immediately used the Abyssal Gaze Eye to check on Cecelia's situation. Sure enough, she hadn't taken off the Abyssal Gaze Eye.

At the same time, Cecelia hadn't gone far. She had already woken up Movila and was explaining something to her.

She knew that even if she left without a word, Movila's clones would find her, so she might as well just tell Movila directly.

Movila looked half-asleep. From the looks of it, Cecelia had only just woken up herself, and Loren had already caught her right after.

“Cecelia...”

Cecelia had been talking to Movila, but the moment Loren walked in, she became hesitant and stammered.

“I...”

“Cecelia feels that you are in danger. The people's worship of you is based on the Church. If the Church decides to go after you, the people's attitude towards you will immediately reverse.

“So, she has decided to go back to being a singer like before, using her voice to control others. Starting from the Uridia Kingdom, she will eventually control all of humanity.

“At the same time, she didn't want to experience the pain of parting, so she planned to sneak away and have me inform you.”

Everything Cecelia had just told Movila was now repeated verbatim by Movila.

“This...”

Loren looked at Cecelia, unsure of what to say. Cecelia simply nodded silently:

“Yes.”

“...”

Loren didn't know how to put it either. What Cecelia planned to do was exactly what the Pride Witch had done in the timeline where Loren didn't exist.

The only difference was that back then, it was for the supremacy of witches, and now, it was for Loren.

“Since you've already made up your mind, I won't stop you.

“Always wear the Abyssal Gaze Eye. That way, if anything happens to you, I'll know immediately.”

After a moment of consideration, Loren finally decided to support Cecelia's choice.

What she was doing wasn't actually very dangerous. In fact, it was even less dangerous than following Loren.

Back when Cecelia was a singer, no one had ever gotten close to her. They knew almost nothing about her, not even her appearance, and they weren't even sure of her gender.

Cecelia would change her voice, so no one knew what her real voice sounded like.

With those people under her control, even if someone found a way to track down witches, they wouldn't be a threat to her.

“Be very careful. Don't draw too much attention. Don't expose yourself.”

Cecelia had always kept a low profile, and her sudden departure left Loren feeling a bit dazed.

“Okay, I'm leaving.”

Even now, Cecelia's words were still few.

“I'll take you back.”

As Cecelia was about to leave, Loren suddenly grabbed her hand, then picked her up and flew into the air.

It was only a temporary separation, so Loren's emotions weren't too intense, but Cecelia seemed incredibly dejected.

For her, leaving Loren was more terrifying than death, but for Loren's sake, she would still choose to do it.

“I'll leave a few of Movila's clones with you. If you miss me, I'll fly straight over to find you.

“If I fly at top speed, it'll only take a few hours.”

Loren's current speed was much faster than the Falcon recorded in the World Card. If he added wind magic and lightning magic, he could go even faster.

Traveling from the Gedlan Kingdom to the Uridia Kingdom to find Cecelia would be as quick as taking a bus to a friend's house.

Without realizing it, Loren had become an all-rounder warrior with no weaknesses.

For the one aspect where he was relatively weaker—Strength—he also had plenty of ways to compensate.

“Okay...”

Cecelia buried her head in Loren's chest and softly replied.

“You know, you don't really have to leave. Trust me.”

Even though Loren said this, Cecelia's mood didn't improve. Loren knew she probably thought he was just trying to comfort her.

“Hold on tight. I'll show you what ultimate speed feels like!”

During the flight, Loren suddenly shot upward. Cecelia instinctively closed her eyes and tightened her grip on him until they broke through the clouds.

“Here we go.”

Loren hugged Cecelia tighter. He could feel her heartbeat accelerating wildly.

Once Cecelia was ready, Loren dove downward, unleashing wind magic to break through the air resistance in front while also pushing his wings from behind. Lightning magic further accelerated him.

“Get ready.”

Loren protected Cecelia and continued to accelerate. A deep, booming sound erupted around him as he broke the sound barrier in an instant.

This was even while carrying Cecelia. If it had been just him, he could have gone even faster.

By this point, Cecelia's heartbeat had actually calmed down.

The reason her heart was racing wasn't because she was afraid of heights, but because she was suddenly pressed so close to Loren.

Even after everything they had done together, Cecelia was still this innocent.
