At first, when he heard how much time he had left to stay in the Void Core, Valyr's eyes faintly widened in surprise.
Though, as he thought about it for a bit more, the surprise he felt from it being mentioned gradually disappeared.
After all, before he entered the Void Core, Xervei had already told him that his stay in the Void Core would last around a decade or so.
Then again, hearing that number made one wonder how the Shadow Plane had the capability to extend what was originally a couple of hours into such a long amount of time.
Inwardly shaking his head at the sudden tangent, the young man returned his attention towards Arcane's offer of helping him convert the scripture.
Naturally, it went without saying that Valyr planned on accepting the offer, considering the fact that the one that kept guard over the scripture in the first place was none other than the being in front of him.
Yet, the offer also made him wonder.
"If you don't mind me asking…" he said to Arcane, spending a bit of time gathering his thoughts. "Why offer your assistance?"
"Wouldn't it be possible to extend my stay here in the Void Core instead?" he added, his expression that of genuine curiosity.
"Technically, it would." Arcane nodded after giving the question a bit of thought.
Though, not long after, she shook her head.
"However, if I were to do so, not only would I risk making Her inheritance unstable, but I would also risk turning the foundations of the Shadow Plane unstable as well."
"For reference, extending what's originally a couple of hours into a decade is already the limits of what the Shadow Plane can handle," she continued. "Anything greater than that is only possible with the strength of an upper concept plane."
Hearing her explanation, Valyr finally understood why she had chosen to offer assistance.
Of course, with her strength, it was incredibly easy for her to extend his stay in the Void Core to a length that he deemed fit.
Sadly, the Shadow Plane lacked the foundations necessary for it to withstand such forceful extension.
"Alright." Closing his eyes for a bit as he gathered his thoughts, Valyr eventually gave Arcane a nod to the offer.
In return, Arcane gave off the feeling of slight jubilation.
Feeling himself smile in response to the aura she gave off, the young man gathered his thoughts once more before asking.
"Since we're now working together, is there anything I need to keep in mind or…?"
"Just continue what you were doing." Arcane faintly shook her head at the question. "Though, if you want me to give you a suggestion, it'd be best for you to focus on comprehending more of the Void Core's segments."
"After all, your comprehension of both Shadow Energy and Void Energy is necessary in converting the scripture into something more compatible. With such shallow understanding of the two energies, you can only get so far with your efforts."
"Much less if you want the scripture to tackle the realm beyond Void Energy."
At those words, Valyr nodded in understanding.
"I suppose I'll focus on that, then," said the young man, shifting his gaze towards the second segment of the Void Core. "Will you be watching me all throughout or…?"
"I'll leave after this, but I'll leave you with a way to contact me at any time," replied Arcane. "While waiting for your comprehension of both energies to improve, I'll be dissecting the scripture into its more basic components."
"This way, converting the scripture into something suitable for Shadow Energy would not only be easier, but would also allow seamless refinement in the future."
"Understood." As he committed her words to memory, Valyr finally sent part of his attention towards the second segment, prompting a cascade of information to surge within his mind once more.
Of course, with how much practice he had gotten while comprehending knowledge from the first segment, the increased load that came with the second segment posed no problem for him whatsoever.
Watching the young man commune with the Void Core for a while, Arcane eventually nodded in satisfaction as she conjured a mark a few meters away from the young man.
After making sure that it would last the entire decade and that her connection with it was secure, it was only then did she leave the young man to his own devices as she appeared in front of Xervei and Florentine once more.
Whoosh!
Seeing how on guard both the Overseer and the Saintess of the Shadow Plane were after her sudden reappearance, Arcane could not help but let out a slight chuckle. "Am I really that terrifying?"
"I… we would not dare say that," replied Florentine, deliberating whether to be truthful at first.
Yet, the sheer terror she felt from the being's aura was more than enough for her to understand what she could and could not say.
While Florentine continued to look at Arcane with a hint of fear in her eyes, Xervei mustered up the courage he had as an Overseer as he asked the being a question.
"P-Pardon my insolence, but I would like to ask… did his actions in the Void Core truly summon you here?"
"I wouldn't be here if that weren't the case," answered Arcane in return, looking at the man as if he were stating the obvious. "Though, I must say that your Shadow Plane has lucked out this time around."
Hearing those words, both Xervei and Florentine looked at each other in excitement, their earlier conversation still lingering in their minds.
Though, when they heard Arcane's next words, the excitement they felt turned into outright disbelief.
"Not only have you found someone that has the potential to comprehend the entirety of the Void Core, but you've also found someone that has the ability to fulfill Her last wish."
"Her last wish…?" When he heard Arcane mention this at first, Xervei looked back at the being with slight confusion on his face.
But, as more and more seconds continued to tick, realization eventually dawned upon him.
"Wait… are you saying…?"
Arcane merely nodded in return.
"Precisely what you're thinking," she said, causing the man to begin shuddering with excitement.
"Your concept plane has finally found someone who can inherit Her entire path… and more."
As these words left Arcane, both Xervei and Florentine remained silent for a while as they tried their best to wrap their heads around it.
Though, it did not take long for all of it to finally sink into them, causing both to grin with mad glee.
Rumble…
However, just as the duo thought that the Shadow Plane was bearing witness to the start of a new golden age, the entire concept plane began to quake once more.
"Is it Valyr again?" Xervei muttered to himself, slight anticipation written all over his face as he turned to look at Arcane for answers.
Though, when he did, he noticed that the aura surrounding the latter had turned solemn.
"Resonance of the Creators…" she muttered, a heavy aura lingering around her.
