Billie had decided to actually look into the guest teaching at some other schools, and found that there was indeed a number of other schools that needed guest lecturers and guest speakers. She figured she could do more of that in the future, but for now, she was sitting in the Dunphy home, blandly staring at Haley's little brother.

"You want me to teach you how to sing?" Billie asked, glancing at Luke who grinned and nodded rapidly. Haley was not home at the moment, and was actually off with her mom, since it had been a while since they had done something just the two of them.

"Yep! I saw all the stuff on the news about you teaching at that high school, and I figured that since you're basically my sister in law at this point, you can help me out too!" Luke responded with a grin on his face, as Billie coughed and choked on her spit.

Sister in law.

God that was a weird title to have. She had never even thought about the idea of marrying Haley until now, but she had to admit...

it was definitely something she'd be thinking about in the next few years, especially once gay marriage was legal everywhere like it should be. Since it was not legal just yet, sadly.

"Have you ever actually sang before? Like, in front of an audience of anything like that? Have you ever memorized an entire song that was not required for school or anything like that?" Billie asked, deciding to get the important questions out of the way.

She knew that Luke had the potential to be a pretty good singer, thanks to her past life and having watched the show and with him showing that he was pretty good in a few episodes. But she also knew that he was a bit older at that point, and right now she was not sure why he wanted to learn from her.

"Uh...no? I mean, I sing in the shower if that counts. And I've remembered a couple of your songs" Luke replied awkwardly as he realized he wasn't actually all that knowledgeable about singing or anything to do with it.

"And is there a reason why you want to learn how to sing all of a sudden? Like, I'm not going to hear about you trying to woo a girlfriend in a few days or something, am I?" Billie asked, staring at the younger boy who openly flinched at her words, confirming the suspicion she had.

She knew Luke enough to know that he would not just come out of nowhere to ask her to teach him how to sing. No, he would ask that for a very specific reason. And in this case, she was pretty sure it was to get some girl to notice him.

"Um...if there is a reason, is that a problem?" Luke asked, as he looked away from Billie awkwardly. He was hoping that it was not a problem.

"Matters what the reason is" Billie said, beginning to get interested in what exactly Luke was wanting to learn this for.

"I want to try out for a musical my school is hosting. And I want to get the lead role, but it involves a ton of singing. So, I figured you'd be the best person to ask. Second option was Haley and then Alex" Luke replied, expecting Billie to laugh at him.

Instead she looked surprised before a small smile formed on her face.

"You want to be in a musical? Why didn't you just say so? Which musical is it?" Billie asked, truly interested now. She had a few musicals of her own that she was planning on making, including Dear Evan Hansen and Hamilton.

Both of which did not exist yet.

"Singing in the Rain. I'm trying to get the part of Don Lockwood"

"Oh that is a good one, hmm, I'm sure I can help you get the part relatively easily. But I do think that Alex will be able to help more for the musical side of things. As I am better at singing than acting" Billie suggested, as she had never been in a musical before.

She wanted to try one at least once, but she wanted it to be one that she herself had made, so that would be in the future once she had made Dear Evan Hansen of Hamilton. The latter was her favorite musical of all time, and probably one of the most well known, only being surpassed by something like Wicked.

But Wicked was quite literally the most popular musical that there was, so it was not surprising at all.

She never really cared much for it, not as much as the original movie at least. Which is an utterly legendary movie that is timeless. Even if it sadly had a TON of awful things going on in its creation.

Seriously, some of those actors and actresses were borderline tortured due to the way the filming of the movie had gone.

"And you think that Alex will actually help me with that? Usually she is too focused on trying to work on her credits or whatever. So she doesn't really help me very much, not his sort of stuff" Luke said, shrugging at the idea. He didn't really think Alex would accept it and would probably end up saying no most likely.

"Well we'll just have to wait until she gets back home, won't we?" Billie responded to the younger boy who obviously needed her help, but also needed help from his sister who could be...difficult to approach about this sort of thing.

That was sort of just how Alex was. Naturally difficult and kind of irritating at times, mostly because of how condescending she can be. But thankfully that was pretty rare.

And she didn't do it much around Luke mostly because she would feel bad about making fun of him constantly even if she never meant it. As at some point it'd be a problem to act as he does. Same with Alex, who would have her own problems.

"When did she say she was going to be home?" Billie asked, genuinely not sure when she was getting back. But, ah, it would seem that even they do not know the answer to that came not long after.

"No idea. But knowing them? Probably a few hours since my sisters are always difficult like that" Luke responded with a grumble after hearing the question.

At this, Billie looked around, before shrugging and asking a very important question that she would use to distract the kid from whatever his whole problem was with his sisters.

"Wanna play some video games?"
