Monsters Die When Killed

Chapter 380 - 1: Prepare, and Then Depart

With that thought, Su Zhou smiled and took out the Silver Pocket Watch from his pocket. He lowered his head, gazing at the handless, ’broken’ Divine Object in his hand. On its previously blank face, a single cyan marking now flashed.

That was the very marking representing the coordinates of the Divine Wood World.

Everything was ready—the Divine Blade, Long Spear, Holy Water, Spiritual Objects, clothes, and various emergency supplies of food and water. Su Zhou sensed the Extraordinary High-tier power within him, a force he had now completely mastered. His Extraordinary Organs resonated with one another, stirring the Spiritual Qi to create a surging, tide-like wave of Spiritual Power around his body.

’This time, my strength is far greater than it was during my last trip to the Divine Wood World. The authorities of an average world would be unlikely to stop me. That means I can probably be more open with my actions, which will make it easier to encounter various experts.’

’Of course, it all depends on the situation. If the place is exceptionally xenophobic, or filled with nothing but Monsters and Alien Races, my status as a human would be a major disadvantage. It would be better to stay hidden and keep a low profile then.’

Su Zhou was very clear about his goals for this trip to an Otherworld. He needed to learn from the experiences of that world’s Powerhouses and witness its powerful Exotic Beasts to gather materials and inspiration for the Gathering of his ’True Body’. Beyond that, he also wanted to acquire some precious, additional resources to prepare for creating his Personal Space in the future.

These were his primary objectives. As for defeating an incarnation of the Silent Lord, a Great Being, in an Otherworld, there was no immediate rush. Su Zhou was well aware that the three-year grace period granted by the Divine Wood World incident had not yet expired. He had plenty of time to grow stronger before challenging a formidable foe.

High-key yet low-key, confident yet cautious—humanity is full of such contradictions, and Su Zhou was no exception. ’Holy Water is effective against both the Undead and Yin Souls,’ he mused. ’I even went out of my way to learn the Purifying Heart Spell and various other Exorcism Daoist Techniques. But since my Thunder Technique is the best Exorcism technique there is, I don’t really need to be too concerned.’

"Let’s begin."

As he said this, Su Zhou turned his head to look at Yara on his shoulder. The red Snake Spirit chuckled, then slithered down Su Zhou’s arm and coiled around his finger. Taking aim at the Celestial God Seal, it exhaled.

It was a grayish-black breath, like a cloud of dust. It released a silent Spiritual Light, yet it carried no aura of deathly stillness or decay. Instead, it held a profound and tolerant weight, a sense of accepting and observing all.

This breath coalesced in mid-air, holding its form as it advanced in a revolving motion. Then, just like that, it touched the Celestial God Scale.

This time, because of the new cyan marking, the Celestial God Seal was not as damaged as before. It absorbed all of the grayish-black breath at a speed far exceeding the first time. Then, an immense power began to surge forth in response as the Pocket Watch started to resonate with a distant point in spacetime.

In an instant, Divine Patterns spread and glowing traces lit up. After the breath was devoured, a power so immense that no Transcendent of the current era could possibly believe it emerged from the Celestial God Seal. It then Gathered into an incredibly distinct, grayish-black imprint.

Just like the first time, Su Zhou once again heard a desolate, ancient horn blast. It sounded like a war hymn, yet also a farewell. This time, he could vaguely discern a deeper meaning within it. But before he could ponder its significance, a spherical orb of spacetime glowing with a grayish-black radiance appeared before his eyes, centered on the Celestial God Scale.

Through the orb of light, Su Zhou could faintly make out the scenery on the other side. It was a grayish-black wilderness where the vegetation had withered. The world was dim, and gray clouds churned across the sky, carried by a surging Gale. There were no modern roads on the plains, only old, worn horse trails.

"This place doesn’t seem very advanced."

Su Zhou raised an eyebrow. He was already fully armed and equipped with all his supplies. Yara had returned to her perch atop his head, chuckling softly as she gazed at the world on the other side.

Still, a world that wasn’t particularly advanced was well within his expectations.

’Alright, let’s go!’

With that thought, the young man grinned, then stepped forward and touched the orb of light.

An instant later, his figure vanished from Earth.
