Monsters Die When Killed

Chapter 418 - 15: Supersonic Raid

Indeed, since when was sacking a city limited to just storming the walls, sending in troops, and slaughtering people with fire and sword? In an Extraordinary world, power can be used to help people more effectively, but also to kill them more effectively.

For some reason, Su Zhou found it a little funny. He could clearly see through every one of his enemies’ thoughts and decisions in battle. And when it came to killing them, he never shied away from using all sorts of cruel and savage methods. But when it came to this kind of evil, he was always a step behind. He just couldn’t compare to those who were truly wicked.

’I’m still too naive.’ Su Zhou felt the cold rain run down his arm and drip to the ground. But now wasn’t the time to reflect on his naivety.

"We have to stop them from gathering power like this. Elias, I’m going to destroy their Great Array now!"

The moment he understood, Su Zhou moved without a shred of hesitation.

Two hundred and forty Gale Seeds activated simultaneously, and gales instantly enveloped the young man’s perfect physique. A moment later, the Spiritual Light stirred up by the wind dissipated, revealing a translucent, flowing Wind Armor that encased his entire body, allowing him to float in mid-air.

This was the Whole Body Mist Armor from the Divine Wood World, its complete form styled after Bright Armor. The design, so utterly different from those of this Otherworld, possessed a strange beauty. Its layered patterns were imbued with a heavy Majesty, and upon the Wind Helmet that fully protected his head, there was only a narrow slit over his eyes where the wind’s force was weaker. Two points of violet-blue light flickered on his back.

Su Zhou’s right hand tightly gripped the Blade of Annihilation, flickering Thunder Light and Fire Power coursing over the black blade. His left hand, a veritable iron clamp, clenched the Dragon Horn Long Spear, which he shouldered. A grim Spiritual Light flowed from its tip.

"You all be careful, I’ll be right back."

After assuming his full combat form, he left them with that single sentence. In the next instant, Su Zhou used the power of Wind Aid to break free from gravity and fly into the sky.

He transformed into a streak of flashing Thunder Light and shot toward the distant enemy camp. This time, Elias didn’t try to stop him. The Little Duke had also noticed something amiss with the distant lake and had considered the same terrifying possibility. His expression changed at once.

’This is bad. If they really plan to use the water from the three lakes to flood Naisel City, the walls won’t be able to hold it back... unless...’

’I have no choice but to use our last resort! But the consequences will be severe.’

Gritting his teeth at the thought, Elias knew this was no time for hesitation. "We can’t rely entirely on Mr. Su," he declared. "We have to come up with a solution ourselves!"

"This is the only way."

With his gaze hardening in determination, he turned and led his guards away at a brisk pace. Elias was heading for the secret vault in the Duke’s Mansion.

「Above the sky, within the rain clouds.」

Flying through the air, Su Zhou could feel the rain clouds—which should have been incredibly receptive, even welcoming, to his presence—now resisting his control. The power of his Mingxun Dragon Transformation Technique to command the clouds and rain had been cut off by another force.

An inexplicably vast but incredibly cold power now dominated the cloud layers, causing them to reject the infiltration of all other external forces.

’This must be the Divine Power of the Water God,’ Su Zhou thought. ’The Water God Believers are using Its power to control these rain clouds and create this unnatural storm.’

This power was even mixed into the torrential rain itself. A cold, sinister aura tried to worm its way into Su Zhou’s body, only to be repelled by his own Spiritual Power. To avoid draining his energy, Su Zhou directly activated his as-of-yet unnamed Dragon Scale Armor. Layers of grayish-white, fluorescent scales materialized on his skin, blocking the invasive aura.

Su Zhou accelerated, continuing his high-speed flight toward the enemy camp.

"This is a dangerous course of action, Su Zhou."

Just then, Yara’s voice echoed softly. "You can see it too," it noted in a cryptic tone. "There are quite a few Extraordinary Tiers in the enemy camp. Moreover, with this kind of meteorological phenomenon, it’s highly likely the Water God itself is there."

"If you rush in so recklessly and get surrounded, you might not even be able to escape using the Celestial God Seal."

"If I let danger stop me from doing what I want to do—what I *should* do—then what’s the point of living?"

Su Zhou never dwelled on such complicated thoughts. He calmly replied to Yara’s warning, his right hand tightening on the hilt of his Blade of Annihilation. "Don’t worry. The whole reason I perfected my Dragon Scales first was to handle situations just like this: me against many."

With that said, he accelerated again.

Supported by the second-generation Wisdom Fruit and his brain-turned-Spiritual Power Organ, his two hundred and forty Gale Seeds began to shift and converge. The ancient Bright Armor disintegrated, reconfiguring into a shape that resembled a rocket.

"Times have changed, you Otherworld folks! Time to show you the power of fluid dynamics and a rocket’s thrust-to-weight ratio!"

’All that time I spent as a professor wasn’t just for stuffing my face in the cafeteria!’

Gritting his teeth, Su Zhou locked his eyes on the pale blue pillar of light in the distance. Then, a furious power began to accelerate.

Three hundred tons of thrust began to propel his roughly 150-kilogram body forward. A split second later, as a vacuum corridor formed in his wake, Su Zhou himself became a human missile, hurtling at hypersonic speeds directly toward the camp of the Water God Believers—
