Monsters Die When Killed

Chapter 447 - 21: Immortal Dragon Scale

’Commander Tier... that shouldn’t be related. If it weren’t for the Five Spirits Colored Scales, my Celestial Human Cycle would struggle to absorb normal Spiritual Qi. Then, it can only be my True Body.’

Setting the thought aside for now, Su Zhou couldn’t possibly enter a two-story house that didn’t even reach his knees. He could only gently use his Gale Armor to lift off the roof of the Alchemy Workshop and look down at the still-unconscious Elias.

As someone whose mother was a doctor, Su Zhou could tell with a single glance that something was wrong. In fact, you didn’t need any medical knowledge to see that Elias was in terrible shape. His shoulder-length, dark blue hair had turned snow-white, the Elements in his body were a tangled mess that was impossible to sort out, and all of his organs were failing.

He wasn’t so much living as he was barely clinging to life with Holy Water. If not for the potency of the Holy Water, the gray-eyed youth would have long since passed away.

’Let’s try soaking him in my blood.’ Even Su Zhou could only offer such a solution. He sighed and ordered the Alchemists and alchemists to find a bathtub, clean it, strip Elias, and place him inside. Then, Su Zhou controlled his body, letting a few drops of blood drip from the tips of his massive, sharp dragon claws.

In his current form of over twenty meters tall, even a single drop of Su Zhou’s blood was enough to drench a person’s entire body. A few drops were more than enough to fill the bathtub and immerse Elias completely.

After that, it was all up to fate. To be healed by Su Zhou’s blood, one needed to hold feelings of reverence and trust toward him. This power, which relied on personal conviction, was very much in line with Su Zhou’s style. It was useless for others to be anxious.

But surprisingly, Elias’s condition improved rapidly.

His trust and reverence for Su Zhou surpassed even Su Zhou’s own expectations—he hadn’t realized just how much faith the young man had in him.

But on second thought, it wasn’t so strange. After all, it was only through Su Zhou’s power that Elias was able to reclaim Naisel City and become its Duke. Moreover, it was Su Zhou who helped him protect his family’s legacy and repel the Water God’s attack.

If Su Zhou wasn’t worthy of his reverence and trust, then no one else could possibly meet that standard.

Time passed. By dawn, Elias was mostly out of danger.

"It’s too powerful!"

"This is practically Divine Blood!"

"I don’t mean to be rude, but not even Divine Blood has this kind of effect!"

"N-No... it’s impossible, isn’t it? It can’t be done! No Magic Potion could ever achieve this!"

It was a Miracle. The alchemists and Alchemists present gasped in shock, utterly stunned. They were truly shaken, for no one understood Elias’s previous condition better than they did. For Su Zhou to save the Little Duke from such a state was beyond the scope of any Spiritual Pill—it was nothing short of bringing the dead back to life!

Meanwhile, Su Zhou, exhausted from his great battle with the Water God, was resting against a building. Hearing the sounds from the Alchemy Workshop, he awoke and turned his attention toward it.

As he did, he heard even more astonished cries.

"Look! The Duke is growing Dragon Scales!"

"Yeah, what are these scales? This grayish-white material..."

"Wait, aren’t these just like the ones on Lord Su Zhou..."

Su Zhou was already hovering above the Alchemy Workshop.

He looked down at Elias in the bathtub. The Little Duke was still unconscious, but his complexion was much ruddier than before. His breathing was even, and his organs had regained their vitality, though his hair remained snow-white.

And sure enough, a layer of fine Dragon Scales had grown on Elias’s body. Su Zhou could tell that they were the same type of scales he had when he was in his human form.

He could see that the chaotic Elements within Elias’s body were actually showing signs of stabilizing. Seeing this, Su Zhou’s gaze sharpened. ’My Dragon Scales are taking effect? Right. My Dragon Scales can stabilize the Five Elements Attributes and Element types both inside and outside the body. It’s because of these Dragon Scales that I can unleash a powerful Breath that mixes three types of Spiritual Power. Otherwise, I would have been burned to death by my own power when I used my Breath.’

’The chaotic Elements in Elias were alleviated by my Dragon Scales. And it’s these same scales that insulated the elemental environment inside his body from the one outside, preventing his injured body, which had lost the protection of the Sheltering Array, from worsening due to the external element stagnation...’

At this thought, Su Zhou froze. ’Wait.’

He thought in astonishment, ’These scales of mine... they can actually block element stagnation to some extent?!’

Element stagnation was the cause of the end of the Era, the apocalypse. For some reason, the rate of elemental exchange had slowed down. The various types of Spiritual Qi could no longer convert smoothly into one another, leading to strange delays in physical phenomena—for example, water that would never boil, or wind that grew hotter instead of carrying heat away. It was precisely because of this that all life outside the Sheltering Array would gradually perish.

’But the Dragon Scales, originating from the Five Spirits Colored Scales, could convert the surrounding Spiritual Attributes into a few fixed types. The delay didn’t matter—a five-second delay was still a conversion. It wouldn’t cause a chaotic elemental reaction that endangered one’s life, and thus, it could reduce the impact of the external element stagnation to a certain degree.’

’However, if they can truly mitigate the effects of external element stagnation on the body, then even if one couldn’t live outside with ease, at the very least, a person with this ability wouldn’t die so easily. They could just hide in an underground area where the Elements are more stable and live a normal life!’

Gazing intently at Elias, whose body was now covered in Dragon Scales and clearly altered by his bloodline, Su Zhou’s expression became solemn. Countless thoughts flashed through his mind, but in the end, he let out a deep sigh. ’You actually have this effect? I thought these scales were just for defense and self-detonation, but they turn out to be the perfect counter to element stagnation.’

However, he had no more time for reflection.

Because the seven alchemists and Alchemists present were prostrating themselves before Su Zhou. Having witnessed the Miracle he had wrought, their voices were filled with a fervent zeal, as if they now saw him as a divine being.

"Immortal—Immortal—"

They were chanting a single word. In the Tartadis World, that word carried multiple meanings: "Immortal," "Undying," "Savior," and "Redemption." It was typically a title used to describe Divine Beings, and now they were using it to hail Su Zhou, bestowing upon him the title of ’Immortal Dragon.’

"...Fine."

Although his expression seemed a little impatient, as if he disliked this sort of praise, Su Zhou felt a sense of joy in his heart—the joy of finally having found a key to solving the great problem.

"It’s a good time, too. I haven’t given you a name yet."

Raising his hand, Su Zhou looked at his dragon claw. Upon it, the scales that glowed with a grayish-white light were steadily converting the Element’s Attributes. The Evil-Devouring Demon Lord revealed, for the first time since defeating the Water God, a genuine smile.

"I’ll call you... ’Immortal Dragon Scale’."
