Monsters Die When Killed

Chapter 508 - 14: The Continuous Prayer Meeting’s Unusual Movement

Since childhood, she had been raised by nannies, which made her timid and withdrawn. She didn’t know how to curse at people, and when she was bullied, she had no idea how to fight back.

A year and a half ago, Selos had already advanced to the Awakening Tier, her Cultivation progress far surpassing all her peers at the university. But because of her old reputation, some jealous classmates would still pick on her with sarcastic remarks—and just as before, she had no idea what to do.

Using Extraordinary power against ordinary people was against the rules, but Selos didn’t know how to trade verbal barbs. She didn’t even know any curse words, so how could she possibly express her anger?

That is, until Selos watched Su Zhou’s program.

It was a moment of epiphany.

’So *that’s* how you’re supposed to roast someone!’

’There’s actually a way to make people that furious without using a single curse word? It’s practically an art form!’

’I get it now! This is a weapon—a verbal weapon! I might not be naturally good at it, but I can learn!’

And if she was going to learn, she might as well learn from the master of verbal combat!

And so, Selos began to follow Su Zhou, absorbing the nutrients of the so-called "Key Power" from his live broadcasts and various recordings.

’This line is good. I can use it for some passive-aggressive sarcasm.’

’This one is good too. Perfect for picking fights and roasting people.’

’This one’s great, too... As expected of Su Zhou, the strongest of Earth’s new generation! It’s not just his strength; even his mastery of verbal weaponry is profound!’

’I want to see more... I want to see Su Zhou roast and argue with people more often!’

’So, I should be sarcastic to him, too! That way, he’ll come and roast me!’

Su Zhou, of course, had no idea how his fan had become so twisted. But seeing Selos clutching his autograph, looking absolutely delighted, the awkward feeling in his heart quickly vanished.

Rafael, meanwhile, couldn’t find an opportunity to get chummy with him. But as it happened, Su Zhou wasn’t one for small talk either, so the two of them dove straight into the details of the mission.

The European Union’s team would be the first to depart for the exploration of the Beast God Realm. Rafael was a master of Sealing Skills; he could temporarily seal his teammates inside special cards and release them all at once when needed. As for himself, he could seal a native creature from the Beast God Realm and control it to navigate the world.

This would make their presence minimal and extremely covert. Combined with drones, micro-reconnaissance robots, and the aid of Magic Techniques, the European Union’s team could gather a wealth of information for the teams that followed.

Next would be the Zhengguo Action Team, featuring the Commander Tier Su Zhou. They would advance rapidly along the safe path Rafael had found for them, eliminating any unavoidable local threats along the way as quickly as possible.

The American Federation and Ross Country teams would advance from a different direction. If Earth’s operations attracted the attention of local forces in the Beast God Realm, their job would be to escalate the chaos, creating an opening for the European and Zhengguo teams.

Every role was dangerous and demanded sacrifice. In this joint operation, there was little room for scheming or self-interest among the major powers. Just as no one would want to test if a dead-hand system really worked, no one was foolish enough to be plotting at a time like this.

It was precisely because they understood the terror of the Celestial Venerable Level that the factions of Earth would never allow the Tree of Life even the slightest chance to revive.

’Then again... this is a debt left behind by our ancestors.’

At this thought, Su Zhou’s mind drifted to the hundreds of alien ships on the Moon, and he sighed internally. ’The Beast God Realm is one thing; we can handle it for now. But what would humanity do if a group of aliens actually showed up with a Cosmic Fleet?’

Worrying about such distant matters was rather pointless. Clearly, neither the old nor the young member of the Grail family shared Su Zhou’s tendency to worry about the fate of the world; their concerns were far more practical.

"Professor Su, there are widespread rumors that you’ve already advanced to the Commander Tier, but many people don’t believe it. Even I had my doubts before we met today. As someone standing on the threshold between the Extraordinary Peak and the Commander Tier, I’m keenly aware of how difficult that step is."

Rafael Grail was a Transcendent from the same generation as the Daoist Saint. He wasn’t what you’d call approachable, but at least he spoke plainly, making it easy to understand what was on his mind.

Now, the old man was watching Su Zhou with a smile. "However, forgive my forwardness, but I would still like to know the extent of your current strength, Professor Su. Only by understanding your capabilities can we cooperate more effectively in the coming operation."

Beside him, Selos also looked over with an expectant expression.

"You have a point, but to put it bluntly, you just want to test my strength."

Su Zhou shrugged. It was only natural to gauge each other’s strength before cooperating. But he knew they also wanted to witness the true power of the first Commander Tier in Earth’s New Era. If Su Zhou were to make a move, they might glean some insights and better understand the fundamental nature of Commander Tier power.

Of course, if Su Zhou revealed any of his unique and powerful abilities, it would at least enrich their databases. After all, the records on Su Zhou held by all major powers outside of Zhengguo merely stated that he was skilled with lightning, possessed some ability to Call the Wind and Summon the Rain, and was virtually invincible in a thunderstorm.
