Monsters Die When Killed

Chapter 507 - 14: Unusual Movement of the Continuous Prayer Meeting

"I suppose I can... But, Ms. Selos, why?"

Taking the notebook from her, Su Zhou looked up at the rather excited woman before him. Although Selos appeared to be around his age, she was actually twenty-one, more than a year older than him.

Age aside.

This was the first time anyone had asked for his autograph, and Su Zhou found it rather novel.

In theory, he was a global figure with millions of fans, so he should have been an old hand at signing autographs by now. But since he was always either busy with his Cultivation, carrying out missions for the country, or randomly helping people across the nation, a fan’s chances of actually running into him were slimmer than encountering a major celebrity on the street—let alone asking for an autograph.

So he truly hadn’t expected that this up-and-coming, new-generation judge—who, according to Qiming, was supposedly being groomed to replace him and was being egged on by others to challenge him—was actually one of his fans.

’When you expect me to be unfriendly and mentally prepare for it, my being friendly is, in itself, a kind of unfriendliness.’

And sure enough, in response to Su Zhou’s question, Selos replied as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. "Of course! You taught me how to be a person, the art of communication, and so many words of wisdom... Look, I’m even an admin in your fan club!"

Of course, she wasn’t about to tell Su Zhou that she also had another account dedicated to being snarky and passive-aggressive, where she put what she’d learned into practice.

’Wait a minute. How to be a person... I suppose there’s a slight possibility. But the art of communication? You’re saying you learned that from *me*?’

Completely baffled, Su Zhou glanced at Rafael. Seeing the shocked expression on the high-ranking Harmony Bureau official’s face, it was clear he had no idea his granddaughter was a Su Zhou fan... As for all that talk about life lessons and words of wisdom, he was obviously just as clueless.

’Maybe she’s just flattering me?’ With that thought, Su Zhou cleared his throat, raised his pen, and asked seriously, "Where do you want me to sign?"

"On the last page of this notebook!"

Since she had come to him with goodwill, Su Zhou was happy to reciprocate in kind. He opened Selos’s notebook and flipped to the last page.

And then, he saw some of the notes written inside.

Of course, Su Zhou hadn’t intentionally tried to peek at the woman’s private notebook. It was just that his dynamic vision and Perception were so powerful that even an accidental glance out of the corner of his eye was enough to clearly comprehend the meaning of every single word in a line of text.

And it was for this exact reason that Su Zhou, upon reaching the last page of the notebook, was utterly thunderstruck.

The notebook was already filled with all sorts of bizarre quotes and peculiar drawings, but the contents of the final page were what struck Su Zhou as oddly familiar...

"Absurd! You claim to be the strongest Transcendent in the France Region, so how can you be sure? Have you fought every other Transcendent in the France District?"

"Everyone thinks so? I’m part of ’everyone,’ so does that mean you speak for me?"

"And why talk about a vote? Does having the most votes make someone the strongest?"

"You say I’m not qualified to comment? Then you’re not qualified to use the title ’Strongest Transcendent in the France District’ to promote yourself! Weren’t you the one just a few days ago who questioned if I was too young and unqualified for the United Nations Transcendent Conference? Make no mistake, I *am* retaliating, but my questions are perfectly reasonable too!"

"—Excerpt from the sayings of Su Zhou during his Twitter war with Champagne, an official from the European Union Harmony Bureau, on June 1st, 2016."

As soon as he saw these quotes, Su Zhou immediately recalled what had happened over ten days ago, when the Literary Saint had notified him that he’d qualified to participate in the first United Nations Transcendent Conference.

As it happened, that Harmony Bureau official named Champagne hadn’t been so lucky and wasn’t selected. So, he had gone online to make a few sour remarks, subtly mocking Su Zhou’s age and implying his power was just the result of Zhengguo forcibly using a Secret Technique on him. He had even been caught liking a few posts that slandered Su Zhou.

Su Zhou had been overjoyed to hear it. He immediately picked up his phone and spent the better part of a day relentlessly hounding the man online, posting extremely targeted comments on every single one of his tweets. Of course, he didn’t let it interfere with his Cultivation. The Su Zhou of today could use his Spiritual Power to operate his phone remotely, without even using his fingers. He could even control lightning with one hand and fire with the other, have water surging around his chest and a Gale lifting him off his feet, all while telekinetically typing out his tirades.

It was, without a doubt, a spectacle for fans and anti-fans alike. The reason they all followed Su Zhou was that when faced with such underhanded provocations, he would never ignore them or act timidly. Instead, the Giant would come out, and a heavy fist would fall.

But Su Zhou never imagined that the trash talk he casually spouted would actually be recorded by someone in a notebook!

’Holy shit, what the hell is all this stuff written in here?!’

After signing his name with slightly stiff fingers, Su Zhou handed the notebook back to Selos. He stared at her with a strange expression, his mind reeling. ’This girl... she’s a fan of mine because of *this*? Not because of my invincible martial prowess and handsome looks, but just because I’m good at being a toxic trash-talker?’

Hashtags like #SuZhouLooks# or #SuZhouStrength# should have been the norm in his fandom. What the hell were #SuZhouFlames# and #SuZhouTrashTalk#?!

Meanwhile, Selos gazed delightedly at Su Zhou’s signature in her notebook, her eyes shining brightly.

With her grandfather being a high-ranking official in the Harmony Bureau, Selos’s parents were members as well. They worked themselves to the bone, and business trips or overtime lasting ten to fifteen days at a time were just part of the routine.
