The truth had already been spoken. The chairman was dragged through the courtroom doors. Outside, the waiting reporters immediately surrounded him.
"Chairman! Did you manipulate the contract?"
"Did Eclipse Corporation intentionally target Nathan Industries?"
"Did you have employees inside Nathan Industries working for you?"
The chairman lowered his head as officers pushed him toward the police vehicle.
"Move!"
The rear door opened. He was placed inside. The door slammed shut. For the first time, the chairman’s reflection appeared in the dark window. He stared at himself. The confident businessman who had believed he controlled everything was gone.
Only an arrested man remained.
Back inside, the atmosphere had completely changed.
Aiden’s lawyer approached him. "You’re free to go."
Aiden looked toward Toma. She immediately ran toward him.
"You were telling the truth,"she whispered.
Aiden smiled. "I told you."
Toma wiped her tears. "I knew you were innocent."
Aiden looked toward the courtroom screens. The mysterious evidence had changed everything. But he still had one question. "Who sent those videos?"
Nobody knew.
Far away,on the rooftop of a nearby building,Nobody watched the police vehicles disappear into the distance.
He took another sip of coffee.
The System appeared beside him.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
[Mission Objective Updated]
Aiden Sullivan:
Cleared
Eclipse Corporation:
Investigation Initiated
Primary Evidence:
Successfully Delivered
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Nobody smiled. "Not bad." He looked toward the courthouse. "One less problem."
The System displayed another notification.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
[Special Reward Available]
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Nobody raised an eyebrow. "...Reward?" His smile widened. "Now we’re talking."
........
Nobody remained on the rooftop, long after the police vehicles had disappeared from the street.
The city below was returning to its usual rhythm. Cars moved through the intersections. People walked along the sidewalks.
News reporters were still gathered around the courthouse entrance, but from this distance, their voices were nothing more than a faint murmur.
Nobody took another sip from his coffee. "Well..." He looked at the System window floating in front of him. "That went better than I expected."
The System immediately responded.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
[Special Reward Available]
Mission:
Expose Eclipse Corporation
Status:
Completed
Reward:
Available
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Nobody’s eyes brightened. "So what did I get?"
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
[Please select the reward.]
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
A new menu appeared.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
[Reward Selection]
Option 1:
10,000 System Points
Option 2:
Random Rare Item
Option 3:
Skill Upgrade Token
Option 4:
Mystery Reward
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Nobody stared. "Ten thousand points?" He scratched his chin. "That’s a lot."
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
[Correct.]
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
"Random Rare Item?"
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
[Probability of receiving a useful item: 63%.]
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Nobody’s expression immediately changed. "Why would you tell me the probability like that?"
The System remained silent.
Nobody looked at the third option. "Skill Upgrade Token sounds pretty useful."
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
[It is.]
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Nobody narrowed his eyes. "You sound suspiciously enthusiastic about that one."
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
[User is imagining things.]
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Nobody stared at the System. "...Sure." He looked toward the final option.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Mystery Reward.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
"What’s inside this?"
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
[Unknown.]
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
"That’s not helpful."
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
[That is why it is called a Mystery Reward.]
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Nobody sighed. "Fair enough."
He considered the choices carefully. He already had several combat abilities. His points could be useful later.
But a rare item could be anything. The mystery reward could be incredible...Or completely useless.
He finally pointed toward the third option. "I’ll take the Skill Upgrade Token."
The System immediately responded.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
[Reward Selected]
Skill Upgrade Token acquired.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
A small golden token appeared from the System window.
Nobody caught it. It looked like a tiny coin, but strange symbols moved across its surface. Nobody turned it between his fingers. "So I just use this on a skill?"
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
[Correct.]
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
"Any skill?"
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
[Most skills.]
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
"Most?"
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
[Certain unique skills cannot be upgraded through conventional methods.]
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Nobody nodded. "That makes sense." He opened his skill list.
Several abilities appeared.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
[] Zig Zag Teleportation.
[] Super Reflexes.
[] Night Vision.
[] Frost Crowbars.
[] Fist Gigantification.
[] CC Eyes.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Nobody scrolled through them. His finger eventually stopped on Zig Zag Teleportation. "This one."
The System asked.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
[Confirm upgrade?]
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Nobody didn’t hesitate. "Confirm."
The golden token disappeared. A wave of energy passed through his body. Nobody suddenly felt something change.
The System window expanded.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
[Skill Upgrade Successful]
Skill:
Zig Zag Teleportation
Previous Level:
Level 1
Current Level:
Level 2
New Effect:
Trajectory Adjustment
User can alter teleportation direction during consecutive movement.
Teleportation accuracy increased.
Energy consumption reduced.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Nobody blinked. "...Wait." He looked at the description again. "Trajectory adjustment?"
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
[Correct.]
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Nobody slowly smiled. "So I can change direction while teleporting?"
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
[Affirmative.]
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
His smile grew wider. "That’s actually awesome."
He immediately imagined himself moving through the air.
Instead of simply teleporting from point A to point B,he could now change his trajectory halfway through the sequence.
That meant enemies would have an even harder time predicting his movements.
Nobody stood up. "Let’s test it." He walked toward the edge of the rooftop.
The System immediately appeared.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
[Warning.]
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Nobody looked at it. "What?"
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
[User is standing on the edge of a building.]
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
"I noticed."
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
[User should consider testing the upgraded ability somewhere safer.]
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Nobody looked down. The ground was several stories below. "...Good point." He stepped away. "Let’s use the alley."
Nobody jumped from the rooftop. He landed safely on the street. A few seconds later, he entered a narrow alley between two buildings.
Nobody looked around. "Alright." He raised one hand. "Zig Zag." His body vanished.
FLASH.
He appeared near the end of the alley. Then immediately activated the skill again. Instead of continuing straight, his body shifted sideways.
FLASH.
He appeared against the opposite wall. Nobody laughed. "Okay!" He tried again. This time he teleported upward.
Then changed direction in mid-sequence. His body moved diagonally between the buildings before landing on a fire escape.
Nobody looked at the System. "That’s much smoother."
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
[Skill efficiency has increased.]
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Nobody jumped back onto the rooftop. He looked across the city. The sun was beginning to set.
For once, there were no immediate screams. No desperate rescue mission. No criminals waiting around the next corner. No giant armored monster.
Nobody smiled. "Maybe I can finally take a break."
The System remained silent.
Nobody waited. "...System?"
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
[Yes?]
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
"Please don’t tell me something is happening."
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
[Nothing is happening.]
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Nobody relaxed. "Good." He stretched his arms. "Then I’m going to check on Toma."
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Meanwhile...
Inside Nathan Industries, the atmosphere had changed completely. Employees stood around the office discussing the news. Everyone had heard about Aiden’s acquittal. The chairman’s arrest had become the biggest corporate scandal of the week.
Several employees were relieved. Others were terrified. Some quietly wondered whether they would be questioned next.
Aiden stood inside his office. Toma was beside him.
She looked exhausted, but she couldn’t stop smiling. "It’s finally over."
Aiden looked toward the city through the window. "For now."
Toma frowned. "What do you mean?"
Aiden turned around. "The chairman wasn’t working alone."
Toma became serious. "You think there are still people inside Nathan Industries?"
"I know there are." Aiden placed several documents on the desk. "The evidence showed that some employees helped Eclipse."
Toma looked at the documents. "Do you know who?"
"Not yet."
Aiden sighed. "But we’ll find them."
A quiet knock came from the door. Both looked up. Aiden opened it.
Nobody stood outside. He was wearing an ordinary office suit.
Aiden immediately smiled. "Oh."
Nobody raised one hand. "Waddap?"
Toma looked at him. "You disappeared again."
Nobody laughed nervously. "Work."
Aiden shook his head. "You always seem to have work."
Nobody walked inside. "That’s because I’m a very hardworking person."
Toma stared at him. "You don’t look hardworking."
Nobody placed a hand against his chest. "That hurt."
Aiden laughed.
For a brief moment, the tension disappeared.
Nobody looked around the office. "So..." He glanced at Aiden. "How are you feeling?"
Aiden became quiet. Then smiled. "Better."
"Good."
Nobody nodded. "I saw what happened."
Aiden’s expression changed slightly. "The evidence?"
Nobody nodded. "Yeah."
Aiden looked at him carefully. "Do you know who sent it?"
Nobody froze for half a second. Then shrugged. "Maybe the internet."
Toma raised an eyebrow. "The internet doesn’t usually send courtroom evidence directly to everyone’s phones."
Nobody looked away. "Modern technology is amazing."
Aiden laughed. "You really are strange."
Nobody smiled. "People have told me that."
Aiden walked toward his desk. "Regardless of who sent it, I owe them a lot."
Nobody’s smile became smaller. "You don’t owe anyone anything."
Aiden looked at him.
Nobody continued. "Just fix your company."
Aiden nodded. "That’s exactly what I’m planning to do."
Nobody glanced toward the documents. "And those employees?"
"We’re investigating."
Nobody nodded. "Good."
Toma looked at him. "Are you leaving already?"
Nobody turned toward the door. "Yeah."
"Where are you going?"
Nobody smiled. "Somewhere boring."
Toma looked confused. "That’s suspicious."
Nobody laughed. "Maybe I just want one normal evening."
He walked out. The moment he entered the elevator, the System appeared.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
[Daily Activity]
Current Threat Level:
Low

Rest
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Nobody smiled. "Finally."
The elevator doors closed.
He leaned against the wall. "No monsters."
No criminals. No rescue missions. No corporate conspiracies.
Just one peaceful evening. The elevator descended.
Nobody looked at the System. "Tomorrow..." He paused. "...I’ll figure out what to do next."
The System displayed a tiny notification.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
[Reminder]
User should not become too comfortable.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Nobody stared at it. "...Why would you say that?"
The System disappeared.
Nobody sighed.
"Something tells me my peaceful evening isn’t going to last."
