My All Powerful System

Chapter 64: Cold Hands, Quiet Watch

Peter Musk trained alone in one of the many Training Halls of AETHER Blessed Academy. The air was already cold. His breath came out in little white clouds, and the floor beneath him was covered in a thin sheet of frost.

He wasn’t trying to impress anyone. He was just training, casually, like it was another Tuesday morning. Or at least, that’s what he told himself.

But his mind wasn’t quiet. Not even close.

The memories of Lynx humiliating him flooded his brain and wouldn’t stop hunting him.

Lynx with his sweet, cute, little twin sister, Ava. His fucking breath on her skin. How she blushed around him. How she laughed at things Lynx said like no one else mattered.

Peter kept remembering all of that, and it drove him crazy. A hot, tight knot sitting right under his ribs.

She wasn’t supposed to be for anyone. She was HIS. His twin. The only person who’d been with him since the very start.

The thought made his ice come out wrong. It was too sharp. He exhaled and forced it steady again.

He was the Golden Child of the Musk family. The first Blessed of his family. He became a Blessed at 16 years old... 16 fucking years old, right on the dot. The perfect Blessed Age. While Ava became a Blessed when she was almost 17.

He is the Golden Child. The first Blessed of the Musk Family across generations.

His father, Alon Musk, owns the biggest banking company in the Aether Empire. He also owns the company that produces the Portal Artifact, which almost all Blessed used or wealthy normal humans.

They were rich. Freaking rich.

The Portal Artifact his dad created... well kinda created... is the most used Artifact in the Human continent. Across the 4 Human Empires. And his dad owns the company that produces them.

His dad lived in the Dwarven continent for years. Although he wasn’t a Blessed, he was very talented academically. His IQ was very, very high. He even rivaled some top Dwarfs in knowledge. Professors would talk about him like he was a myth.

When he came back to the Aether Empire in the Human continent years back, he settled down. Used his knowledge and built his own business empire. He brought the Portal Artifact from the Dwarven Kingdom to the Aether Empire in the Human Continent.

He refined the artifact to be used by any kind or person. Powerful or Powerless, any creature could use it smoothly.

The Other Three Human Empires have to either buy the Artifact from his company, Quesla, or travel to the Dwarven Kingdom and get one. And since the latter is far away from the Human continent, they just come to Quesla, and buy the Artifact used for opening portals. Easy for travel. Safe. Fast and Expensive.

His dad has multiple banks across the Aether Empire. Owns Quesla the portal artifact making company. Owns the biggest bank in the Aether Empire.

And now years after all that... he Peter Musk is the first son of Alon Musk.

The Heir. The Golden Child. The First Blessed of the Musk Family in all generations.

He got looks. He got 2 affinities. He got his dad’s name. His dad is even more important than some Blessed working for the Emperor.

Hell, his dad could even hire some Blessed as his bodyguards. (Joke though). But His dad is the wealthiest normal human in the Aether Empire.

So then why... why the hell should he be afraid of some nobody?

A late bloomer. A guy who got lucky. A guy who was supposed to be dead.

Lynx Fucking Azarion.

Lynx was stealing all the attention that was supposed to be his. That guy even got a fan club filled with juniors. Peter was even sure there were some seniors and his classmates in the club too. Posters. Chants. People waiting after class just to see him walk by.

He IS Peter Musk. He was supposed to be the rising star of AETHER Blessed Academy. The most popular Year 2 student. The soon to be King of this Academy.

But he could see all that slipping away. Lynx is the most popular person in Year 2... Or probably the whole Academy. Lynx was strong as hell and... the dude was built like a god. Perfect. Annoyingly perfect.

The memory of Lynx and Eira together crept into his mind too, Eira moans coming from Lynx room all night.

’And he fucks like a demon too.’ The thought made Peter’s jaw ache from how hard he was clenching it.

Shit.

Peter’s hands moved. Slow, then fast. Ice spiraled from his palms, forming into thin spears, then shields, then shattering into mist before it even hit the dummies.

He wasn’t aiming. He was punishing the air.

Shhhk. Shhhk. The sound of ice cutting air filled the whole hall. Cold bit his lungs.

Daniel sat on the metal bench by the wall, arms crossed, watching every single move.

He didn’t say anything. He just watched.

His eyes followed the way Peter controlled the temperature, the way the ice didn’t waste, the way his ice affinity looked cleaner than last month.

He could also see Peter thinking. And his thoughts were bad. He could see it in the set of Peter’s shoulders, in the way frost crept up the walls when Peter wasn’t paying attention. His emotions were fueling his control, and his strength.

Peter flicked his wrist, and a wall of ice shot up. Three meters tall. Smooth. Balanced and Perfect. A perfect barrier. Then he melted it with a breath, letting the water run down his arm and evaporate into steam that hissed against the cold.

Sweat was on his forehead but he wasn’t tired. No... not yet. He wouldn’t let himself be tired.

Daniel finally spoke, his voice low. "You’re getting sharper and better. If you continue like this, maybe you’ll finally be able to beat your sister in a 1v1."

Peter’s fist tightened. He didn’t look back. He just cracked his knuckles, and another layer of frost spread across the floor, spiderwebbing out from his boots.

"Still got a long way to go."

The words came out flat. But inside his mind, they burned. Beat Ava. When had that become the goal? They used to train together. They used to be a team.

Daniel nodded, then he pulled out his phone. The screen glowed against the cold.

"Yo Peter, I’m watching the ongoing livestream of Lightning Affinity class" then his voice took a high pitched tone.

"Hey Look the rules are different. They’re facing Teacher Jace directly. Not some 15v15. And the names are out, your sis is contestant two."

"What about Lynx?" The question slipped out of Peter’s mouth before he could stop it. He hated that it did.

"Lynx is last."

"Okay." Peter went back to his training. But his focus was gone. Every swing of ice felt heavier now.

...

A few minutes passed. Only the sound of Peter, running some laps, push ups, cracking ice here and there and breathing heavily.

"Yo, check this out, it’s your sis turn," Daniel called out, leaning forward. "Kyle’s out cold. One finger from Teacher Jace and he’s out. Well, that’s expected. I mean it’s Teacher Jace."

He paused. Then Swallowed.

"But what’s not expected is the way Eira is clinging at Lynx now."

Peter stopped mid motion. The custom made ice spear in his hand froze halfway to the dummy.

"I told you," Peter replied. His voice was flat, but cold. "You’re too naive for this stuff. That slut is with Lynx now because he fucks so goddam well. They fucked throughout the night. And how many times have you made her cum? Once, twice or never?."

Daniel flinched. "But I thought there was something there. She can’t just leave like that. I was the one who... I was the one who introduced them. I helped her fuck Lynx."

The guilt in his voice was thick. Peter could taste it from where he stood.

Peter walked up to him and tapped his shoulder. His hand was freezing.

"Bro, she’s gone. You can’t compete with Lynx. Especially over a woman. And not over that damn slut." He took the phone from Daniel’s hands.

"I thought you guys were just casual, friends with benefits? What’s with all this now?" Peter raised his eyebrows while his eyes locked on the screen, where Ava and Teacher Jace were fighting. Sparks of lightning danced across the arena.

Daniel joined him, standing close, watching the fight. "I thought so too. But can’t you see her? I mean... she’s beautiful. She’s hot, she’s magnetic. No offense, she rivals your sister. So who wouldn’t fall for her?"

There was longing in his voice. Stupid, hopeless longing.

Peter didn’t answer right away. On the screen, Ava moved. Fast. Precise. Lightning cracked around her but she didn’t flinch.

"Then instead of whining," Peter said finally, "why not be happy you had your time with her? Better yet, take your life and training seriously. Stop being glued to your games and a—"

BAM.

The sound cut him off.

On the screen, Teacher Jace was on one knee. He was bleeding?. Very tiny, but still counts.

The fight continued, more intense. Jace finally used a fraction of his real strength and knocked Ava out.

Ava lasted 9 minutes against Teacher Jace.

Silence.

Peter and Daniel were completely still.

Peter couldn’t believe it.

Ava forced Teacher Jace. An SSS ranked Lightning Affinity user. The second strongest Lightning affinity teacher in Aether Academy.

Ava actually made him kind off bleed. Pushed him to actually use a fraction of his strength.

That was painfully incredible.

Peter remembered when they were newly Blessed. He’d been stronger then. He’d always been a step ahead. But when they reached 18... something in her changed. She turned into a monster.

Stronger than him.

The realization hit like ice to the chest. She was still his sweet little sister. But the gap was widening. And if he didn’t close it, his dad would start looking at her differently. More seriously. As the heir. As the future of the Musk name.

And he couldn’t let that happen. He wouldn’t.

His hands were shaking. Not from fatigue. From anger. From fear. He had to get really strong and fast.

"Dude," Daniel said quietly, taking his phone back from the stunned Peter. "Except you take your training seriously, there’s no way you’re beating her."
