My All Powerful System

Chapter 92: Busy day at the Academy

A week and some days had passed by peacefully.

Lynx had been enjoying himself in Amira’s arms, waking up to her grey eyes, falling asleep with her hair in his face, then falling more for each other with every day that passed.

Him knowing almost everything about her now, the small things and the big things, learning from her and all that.

He learnt many important things from her. She had traveled a lot... and most of his questions were based on the United Continent. He learnt a lot about the people there, if he had to describe them with one word? crazy people.

They had lots of sex. I mean lots and lots of constant sex.

Everywhere in the mansion, kitchen when the food was burning, dining room when the wine spilled, sitting room tv on, bathroom with steam on the mirrors, bedroom with the curtains drawn, balcony under the stars, fireplace when the nights got cold.

He was having the best time of his life since he came to this world Aetherion.

Amira gave him that.

And he gave her chaos, and laughter, and someone who looked at her like she was the only real thing in the room.

__________

Back at the Academy though, a lot of things had changed. Good and Bad things.

Lynx disrupting the academy by occupying five spots had changed the dynamics of how things were supposed to go, and the shockwaves were still moving.

Many things had happened since a week and 4 days since Lynx left the academy, especially constants fighting in the ascension trials.

But the biggest and shocking fact, was how fast things were going.

The tournament date had taken a surprising turn, and it was drawing really closer, less than a month from now for the Biggest Tournament in Aether Empire.

VOID Blessed Academy from Void Empire had listed their 50 students. All terrifying.

HEATHER Blessed Academy from Heather Empire had also listed their 50 students, their year 4s looking like a wall of monsters.

BACON Blessed Academy from Bacon Empire had also listed their 50 students, and they’d even leaked a few training videos to flex.

Almost all students in each of the three blessed academies were year 4 students with a few year 3, that’s how it was supposed to go. Year 4 students for winning and a few year 3s for backup.

All three academies had dropped their 50 students for the tournament, it was the biggest news this week. In AETHER Academy and the Empire... and it also made the tournament date shift closer.

Things in AETHER Blessed Academy shifted, everyone was busy, training halls packed at 12 AM, healers experiencing one of the most busiest times of their lives.

Now the rules changed, Year 1 students weren’t fighting year 2 students anymore to get chosen, Year 2 students weren’t fighting year 3 students to get chosen.

Instead of 10 strongest Year 2 Earth affinity students fighting the year 3 earth affinity student to get chosen.

The Year 2 Earth Affinity class would have to choose their chosen one, the strongest student from Year 2 Earth Affinity Class would be chosen among the 50 students representing the academy. Same with all the Years. Strongest students gets chosen.

Each Year 2 Affinity classes would have to pick their single strongest student after the ascension trial, to join Lynx.

The headmistress had to implement this rule for them to submit their 50 students before the deadline day that the other three academies agreed upon, because if AETHER showed up late they’d look weak, and weak wasn’t an option.

The academy was really busy, you could feel it in the air, tension and sweat and too much coffee.

But luckily Year 3 students and Year 4 students already knew their strongest, and their teachers had already chosen their strongest, so those slots were locked.

The 50 students slot that was filled up with only 6 students before — Lynx who occupied 5 and Ava — was now almost filled up.

Just 2 more slots remain.

Each affinity class... Year 4, 3 and 1 representing students had been chosen. Strongest of Each Classes.

In Year 2, only a student from Ice, earth and lightning affinity class had been chosen. Since Lynx is already the first person chosen from each Affinity class.

Year 1 — 1 student from each of their affinity class, making it 5 students out of 50.

Year 2 — 2 students from each of their affinity class, making it 10 students. But they will all choose one student, to join Lynx.

Year 3 — 3 students from each of their affinity classes, making it 15 students.

Year 4 — 4 students from each of their affinity classes, making it 20 students.

5 Affinity classes in all Years. Ice, Wind, Earth, Fire and Lightning.

50 Students. Each Years Contribute not only Year 4s and 3s this time.

Today and tomorrow was the day the remaining 2 slots would be filled.

Next tomorrow which was on Friday AETHER Blessed Academy would officially submit their 50 students, and after that there was no going back.

......

Lynx knew what was happening in the academy. He was chatting with his girls back at the academy every night, long calls that turned into shorter calls because they were all exhausted, voice notes at 3 AM, pictures of trials bruises, memes to cope.

Eira was doing well too. He missed her shamelessness. She was second to Amira in terms of being shameless. Not in a bad way though. In a sexy way.

Plus shockingly his teacher Rose, who somehow knew he wasn’t at the academy, would give him updated information once in a while through really short text messages on Instalite.

And he also checked the Academy news every morning, scrolling while Amira made breakfast and pretended not to read over his shoulder.

Yes, with him around she has been cooking now for both of them, like a good wife.

Today was supposed to be Lira’s match, she made it to the final in Year 2 Wind affinity class ascension trials, it was not surprising to him, he knew she would make it, that girl might be shy and meek but she is strong.

Then tomorrow was Emily Vs Kira at fire affinity ascension trials final, and just thinking about it made his chest tight.

He already told Amira about them, so she knew, he also told her about Isabel, Ava and Eira. Pretty much Amira already knew almost everything about his life, and he knew most of everything about her too.

He was currently with Amira, he connected his phone to her TV, with her help of course, she was the one who figured out the casting because he kept pressing the wrong button, and he was about to watch his adorable Lira match live.

Amira was curled on the couch next to him, wearing his hoodie... she bought him clothes... her legs tucked up, a blanket over both of them even though it wasn’t cold.

"You think she’s nervous?" Amira asked, voice soft.

"I don’t think so," Lynx said, but his hand found hers anyway. "But that dude she is fight would either lose or be the toughest opponent she fought in the trial."

...

Back at the Academy, the Wind Affinity Arena was filled with students.

Emily and Kira were sitting together near the top, cheering in the stands for Lira, and they didn’t know she was this strong, making it to her ascension trial final. It was unexpected.

Both girls were also aware of their upcoming match tomorrow but decided not to talk about it, well, kinda, because not talking about it was still talking about it... and there’s Emily.

"We are really fighting tomorrow huh," Emily said, breaking the silence first, trying to sound light. "I’ve kinda been waiting for this you know. Kira, ranked 1st in class, 2nd now since Lynx came."

Kira turned to her, eyes still fixed on the stage where Lira was doing warm ups, rolling her shoulders, bouncing on her feet. Green eyes filled with focus.

"Me too," Kira said. "I haven’t seen you fight once though."

Emily facepalmed herself, groaning. "How would you know, before Lynx came, you never talked to anyone, you don’t even know your classmates, you sat and ate lunch alone everytime."

"Now I do," Kira said. "And it’s a headache." She rubbed her temples.

"I know you’re tensed too," Emily smiled at Kira, nudging her with her shoulder. "Can’t hide it."

"Me tensed?" Kira shook her head, quick.

"Nah, I’ve been training hard with teacher Rose, every single time and chance I got, I trained with her, she put me in hellish training, no sleep, mana exhaustion drills, fighting with one hand tied, it’s pretty much my victory."

She shrugged while fixing her eyes back at the stage, but her fingers were picking at the hem of her jacket.

"I’ve been training too hard you know," Emily said quietly, not looking at her. "Not like you, but hard enough."

"Lies," Kira said, but it came out soft. "You talk to Lynx on call almost every time, same with Lira, I know she’s strong but it would be a miracle if she wins this match today, that girl spends every seconds looking at Lynx pictures or videos or chatting and calling him, she showed me her gallery yesterday, it’s now 90% him."

Emily laughed, real and sudden. "Like you’re any different, last week when we were on group call, you almost burned your room when you found out Lynx has been staying with a woman."

Kira scoffed, and her ears went red. "It was an "almost", and it caught me off guard, she was really beautiful, and she smiled at anything she said on the call, any damn thing she said. But I love her grey eyes... ugh" she groaned.

"Yeah she was beautiful. And she held Lynx hands tightly too," Emily said, then paused, watching Lira below. "But don’t you think it’s weird, we’re like 4 girls plus that woman and that Ava girl loving Lynx."

Kira was quiet for a long time, the arena noise buzzing around them.

"I don’t think so," she said finally. "I mean I thought it was weird at first, I was angry, I wanted to fight her, fight all of you cause I loved him first although we were supposed to be "cousins", but you talked me into it."

She exhaled. "And I had to agree, Lynx isn’t meant for one woman, look at him, he’s the most handsome and he is really strong among other amazing qualities he has, the way he listens like he actually cares, the way he fights like he has nothing and everything to lose at the same time, he is really hot, who wouldn’t fall for him!"

She pause again. "And it’s not like we’re competing, not really, so as long as chooses them, I’ll try not to burn things."

Emily laughed at the last part, but it was wet around the edges. "Noted, no arson, I’ll put it in the group chat rules."

Kira almost smiled. "You should, Lira would appreciate it."

Before Emily could answer, the teacher at the stage stepped forward, mana amplifying her voice until it echoed off the walls.

"Wind affinity class ascension trial final match: Lira Verne Vs Matthew Snow."

The students roared, some already placing bets. Some chanting Matthew’s name, some chainring Lira’s.

...

Back on the couch, Lynx’s grip on Amira’s hand tightened.

Amira leaned her head on his shoulder. "She’s going to be okay."

"Yeah," Lynx said. "She is."

The screen flickered, the match is starting, and outside the mansion the day was quiet, but at the academy, the 49th person was about to be chosen.
