Chapter 100: Chapter 100: I Do

Before long, Yvonne Lowell’s shoot was over.

"Miss Lowell, Miss Lana is looking for you."

A staff member came over and told her.

Yvonne Lowell paused at the words, then lifted her gaze to look over.

Her heart sank when she met Lana Chandler’s gentle smile. The last time, Lana had told her to lower herself and have dinner with an investor. Yvonne had refused and was met with a furious lecture, calling her a lost cause.

Since then, Lana’s attitude toward her had been lukewarm at best.

’Why would she deign to come find me today?’

She walked over and said softly, "Miss Lana, you wanted to see me?"

Lana Chandler smiled, taking her hand warmly. "Yvonne, I’ve always said you were a lucky one. President Grayson of Grayson Corporation has taken an interest in you. She wants to discuss an endorsement."

Yvonne Lowell pulled her hand away, her tone turning cool. "Miss Lana, I don’t do dinner and drinks."

She had entered this industry because she loved acting and wanted to make a living from it. She had never considered using improper connections to land endorsements or roles. When it came to her principles, she refused to compromise.

The entertainment world was full of temptations. If one’s heart wasn’t strong and their path wasn’t steady, they would eventually be swept away by the filth. From the very beginning, she had scorned the idea of trading her body for resources—be it drinking with clients or sleeping with them—and she would never stoop to it.

"I know you don’t like to just go with the flow, but this time is different." Lana Chandler pulled her over to Vesper Grayson. "This is President Grayson. She wanted to meet with you privately."

Yvonne Lowell stared at the exquisitely beautiful woman before her, stunned. ’It’s a woman.’

"President Grayson, hello."

She immediately greeted her and extended a hand.

Vesper Grayson gave her hand a light squeeze before letting go, then spoke with a warm smile.

"Miss Lowell, you’re even more stunning in person than in your photos. Shall we go somewhere else to talk?"

Yvonne Lowell was flattered. "Of course."

Lana Chandler said, "President Grayson, this way, please."

Watching Lana Chandler’s overly polite and eager demeanor, a flicker of surprise, hard to notice, crossed Yvonne Lowell’s eyes.

Lana Chandler had been clawing her way through the entertainment industry for nearly twenty years. She had seen all kinds of powerful investors and formidable backers, but Yvonne had never seen her be this deferential to anyone.

’To make Lana act so cautiously, this woman’s identity must be extraordinary.’

「The Vice President’s Office.」

Vesper Grayson had just sat down when she received a message from Mr. Spencer.

It was Yvonne Lowell’s entire file, from birth to the present. She had dated a rich second-generation heir in college, but his family’s elders had forced them to break up after she entered the industry.

Ordinary birth, simple upbringing, clean background.

Key personality traits: wild, untamable, and proud to the bone.

She liked that.

"Miss Lowell, how much do you know about Vaudin?"

Yvonne Lowell’s expression was composed, her tone steady. "Vaudin Jewels started several decades ago in a small workshop, beginning with custom, handmade pieces. It made its way to where it is today through craftsmanship and reputation. It doesn’t rush for quick success or chase trends, focusing only on the design and quality of the jewelry itself. It’s a brand that is truly dedicated to preserving its heritage."

A clear flicker of approval crossed Vesper Grayson’s eyes as she spoke slowly.

"Very good. I came today to formally invite you to be the brand ambassador for Vaudin Jewels."

Yvonne Lowell was taken aback. After a moment, she asked softly in return,

"The industry is full of talented people. Why did you choose me, Miss Grayson?"

Vesper Grayson’s gaze was serene. "Vaudin came from a small workshop to where it is today by holding fast, staying focused, and never compromising. You’ve been in the entertainment industry for so many years without pandering, without settling, and without being corrupted by the filth. Your calm, clear-headed, and principled nature perfectly matches Vaudin’s core values. I believe you are the one I’ve been looking for."

"As far as I’m concerned, you are the only choice for Vaudin’s brand ambassador. I don’t have the contract with me, but my assistant will send you the relevant terms within three days. Everything will be according to the highest standards for a luxury brand endorsement."

Yvonne Lowell was at a loss. "President Grayson, you trust me that much?"

The corner of Vesper Grayson’s lip curled up, her tone firm and certain.

"When I judge people, I trust my instincts. All you need to do is tell me whether you’re willing to accept. If you nod yes, I will arrange everything related to the brand for you. For as long as you’re Vaudin’s ambassador, no one will dare to give you any trouble."

’For Elias’s sake, Zane Rivers should show me some courtesy, right?’

’Today, I suppose I’m borrowing the tiger’s might, relying on Elias’s influence.’

Yvonne Lowell’s fingertips curled slightly. She suppressed the turmoil in her heart, her expression remaining calm and composed.

"I am honored by your high opinion, President Grayson. I accept!"

An opportunity this good was like a pie falling from the sky. It was a top-tier resource that others would fight for; she had no reason to refuse.

A faint smile touched Vesper Grayson’s lips, and a hint of satisfaction flashed in her eyes.

"Very good. For the follow-up contract, scheduling, and promotions, my people will coordinate directly with Nathan Chandler. You two just need to cooperate."

She turned to Lana Chandler, who was standing to the side. "Miss Lana, please pay extra attention to Yvonne Lowell from now on. I don’t want anything to go wrong with this Vaudin partnership."

Lana Chandler immediately bowed, her attitude one of utmost reverence.

"Rest assured, President Grayson. I will make all the proper arrangements and absolutely would not dare to be negligent."

Vesper Grayson didn’t stay any longer. She stood, smoothed the hem of her clothes, and carried herself with a poised air.

"Since we’ve reached an agreement, I won’t disturb you any further. I look forward to a pleasant collaboration."

Just as she opened the door, she saw a man walking toward her from a short distance away and raised an eyebrow slightly.

"President Rivers."

Zane Rivers strode up to her with one hand in his pocket.

"Looks like running those three red lights wasn’t for nothing. I made it just in time for a chance to have lunch with Miss Grayson."

The man wore a sharp white suit over a patterned shirt, exuding a rakish, unrestrained air.

His handsome brows arched slightly, a hint of wildness in his eyes, and a roguish, flirtatious smirk played on his lips.

He looked every bit the libertine who was used to wallowing in sensual pleasures.

"President Rivers, safety is paramount. I’ve already come to an agreement with Miss Lowell. She has consented, and my people will be in touch with Miss Lana regarding the follow-up matters."

Zane Rivers’s gaze fell on Lana Chandler and Yvonne Lowell behind her, and he smiled enigmatically.

"Miss Grayson certainly has a... unique eye for talent."

He knew of Yvonne Lowell. Many people had complained about her, expressing their dissatisfaction, and some had even demanded she be blacklisted. But he hadn’t touched her, because he had other plans for her.

In his view, every artist at Starlight had their value.

It was just that their ’uses’ were different.

’Since Vesper Grayson likes her, I’ll leave her be for now.’

Yvonne Lowell’s fingers, hanging at her side, curled unconsciously as her heart tightened.

Vesper Grayson smiled serenely. "Miss Lowell is simply worth it."

Zane Rivers glanced down at his watch. "It’s just about lunchtime. Would Miss Grayson honor me with a meal?"

It wouldn’t be appropriate to refuse, so she nodded. "Alright. I’m afraid I’ll have to let President Rivers treat me, then."

Zane Rivers raised an eyebrow and gave her a deep look. "Nonsense. The honor is all mine."

With that, he led her toward the elevator.

"Zane..."

Roya Winters’s soft voice called out. She trotted to Zane Rivers’s side, looped her arm intimately through his, and complained in a coquettish voice, "Where have you been these past few days? Why haven’t you been answering my calls?"
