My CEO Husband Says I'm Irreplaceable

Chapter 93: Miss Grayson, Upstairs, Please

Chapter 93: Chapter 93: Miss Grayson, Upstairs, Please

At that moment, Julian Churchill, plagued by a guilty conscience, was packing his things and planning to make an early escape.

He was well aware of Mrs. Kensington’s illness. It was incurable, and he was certainly no disciple of the Saint of Medicine.

He had merely studied under an unknown old traditional doctor for a few years. Two years ago, he’d even caused a death due to malpractice.

After hiding for over a year, he had finally dared to resurface and continue his scams.

He happened to see the Kensington Family’s high-paying online notice seeking a doctor and, driven by greed, had accepted the offer.

Five million would be enough for him to find a secluded paradise and live out his later years in comfort, free from worry.

He had just finished packing his bag and was about to get into a car when several tall, burly bodyguards suddenly emerged from the shadows and surrounded him.

"Dr. Churchill, where might you be going in the dead of night?"

Julian Churchill’s hand trembled. He forced a smile. "And you are?"

"President Kensington is concerned for your safety, Dr. Churchill. He has specially instructed us to escort you back to the Kendrick Estate."

Without giving him a chance to react, the man waved his hand.

The bodyguards swarmed forward, dragged him into the car, and sped away.

After examining Mrs. Kensington, the medical team looked at Sebastian Kensington with grave expressions.

"President Kensington, Miss Kensington was already suffering from a blockage of the heart meridian and poor circulation of qi and blood. The fake medicine was aggressive and potent, and it has thrown her heart meridian into chaos and obstructed her vital energy."

"She appears to be asleep, but her breathing is actually faint. She has fallen into a deep coma, a sign that her life force is nearly exhausted."

"If she doesn’t wake up within three hours, we will need to prepare for... the inevitable."

Sebastian Kensington’s expression turned frigid. "Then wake her up!"

Overcome with anxiety, Mr. Kensington clutched his chest and staggered. Mrs. Kensington quickly supported him, helping him catch his breath.

The medical team looked troubled. "President Kensington, we’ve used every medicine at our disposal. All we can do now is leave it to fate."

If they truly had a solution, they would have cured Mrs. Kensington long ago.

In an instant, a deathly gloom descended upon the entire Kensington Family.

Sebastian Kensington thought of something and immediately called Jared Hawthorne, but the call couldn’t connect.

"President Kensington, we’ve brought Julian Churchill. It’s a good thing you had us keep an eye on him, or he would have gotten away!"

The bodyguard recounted how Julian Churchill had tried to flee.

A sharp, murderous glint flashed in Sebastian Kensington’s dark eyes.

He remained silent, striding outside.

「In the backyard clearing.」

Julian Churchill stood there, his heart pounding with unease. Upon seeing Sebastian Kensington appear, he preemptively spoke with a self-righteous air.

"President Kensington, what is the meaning of this?"

Sebastian Kensington wasted no words on him, tossing two lab reports at him.

"Ethan Grant, you’ve got some nerve. Changing your name and daring to scam the Kensington Family. It seems you have a death wish!"

Julian Churchill picked them up and glanced at them. A flicker of guilt crossed his eyes, but he quickly began to argue his case again.

"President Kensington, this must be a misunderstanding. Even if I were ten times bolder, I would never dare to deceive you! After Miss Kensington took my medicine and received my Nine Dragon Needle treatment, she was glowing with health. Didn’t you see it with your own eyes?"

"That was just an illusion. Since you refuse to be honest, then don’t blame me for being merciless." A chilling frost touched the corners of Sebastian Kensington’s mouth as he shot a cold glance at a bodyguard.

Understanding the unspoken command, the bodyguard stepped forward.

Before Julian Churchill could react, a sturdy arm clamped down on his shoulder like an iron pincer, pressing down hard and pinning him to the ground. An instant later, a heavy elbow slammed into his back, and a dull crack echoed from his bones.

He cried out in pain, his face pressed against the cold ground as blood trickled from his nose and mouth. The bodyguard showed no mercy, his fists and feet landing with brutal efficiency, targeting the most painful spots. Every dull thud was accompanied by a piercing scream. In just a few moments, Julian Churchill, who had been arguing defiantly just moments before, broke down completely, begging for mercy with tears and snot streaming down his face.

"President Kensington, I was wrong! I know I was wrong! I was possessed by greed, blinded by money! My avarice made me dare to deceive you with fake medicine and harm Miss Kensington... I truly know I was wrong, I’m begging you, please spare me this one time!"

「Two hours later, the plane landed in Northolme.」

Jared Hawthorne and Vesper Grayson exited the airport.

Leon Quillan was already waiting outside.

Once in the car, Jared Hawthorne turned on his phone. Seeing a missed call from Sebastian Kensington, he called back.

"Sebastian?"

Sebastian Kensington’s hoarse voice came through the phone, accompanied by the sound of wailing.

"Elias, my grandmother is dying... Miss Grayson was right. He’s a con man."

"What is Kensington’s condition now?"

"She’s in a coma. The doctors say if she doesn’t wake up by six, we have to prepare for the worst."

Jared Hawthorne’s eyes narrowed. He hadn’t expected it to be so severe that she wouldn’t even last a day.

"I’m on my way."

After hanging up, Jared Hawthorne turned to the side, his eyes dark and profound.

"You went to Ashmore overnight to retrieve the needles. Did you already know that Kensington wouldn’t make it until dawn?"

"It was just a worst-case scenario plan. That medicine is aggressive and extremely harmful to the body. With a common illness, the body might have held on for a while, pushed to its limits. But Mrs. Kensington suffers from a blocked heart meridian. For years, she’s been sustained by expensive herbal soups that preserved her vital energy and advanced equipment that maintained her life force. She was already at the end of her rope. Stimulated by this potent fake medicine, if her heart meridian were to snap, she would die on the spot."

Her retrieving the needles was also a preemptive measure.

But she hadn’t expected things to develop in the worst possible way.

A flicker of admiration, tinged with an imperceptible softness, quietly passed through Jared Hawthorne’s dark eyes.

The car cut through the empty night like a sharp blade before stopping in front of the Kendrick Estate.

Just as they entered the courtyard, the faint smell of blood hung in the air.

A man covered in injuries was lying on the ground, looking half-dead.

Vesper Grayson paused. Noticing her hesitation, Jared Hawthorne took her hand, his palm enveloping her soft, small one.

"It’s Julian Churchill. Don’t look, it’ll only sully your eyes."

In the living room, Sebastian Kensington sat on the sofa. He wasn’t wearing his glasses, and his usual gentle, refined aura was completely gone. His eyes were now sharp as blades, chilling and intimidating. Simply sitting there, he exuded a crushing sense of pressure.

"President Kensington, President Hawthorne and Miss Grayson are here."

The butler announced their arrival.

Sebastian Kensington’s eyes shifted as he glanced toward the two figures walking in through the doorway.

As he rose, he casually picked up his glasses and put them back on. The lenses concealed the ferocity in his eyes, and he returned to his gentle and handsome demeanor.

"Elias, you’re here!"

After speaking, he gave a slight nod to Vesper Grayson.

Vesper Grayson spoke first. "How is Miss Kensington?"

Sebastian Kensington’s expression was grim. "Not good."

"Take me up to see her first."

Right now, every second was a fight to snatch someone from the King of Hell.

For some reason, Sebastian Kensington suddenly felt an inexplicable surge of trust in her. It was probably because she had been able to identify the pill’s ingredients by scent alone and expose Julian Churchill as a fraud.

Someone with ordinary medical skills could never do that.

Last night, he had been deceived. A single leaf had blocked his sight of the forest. His lack of calm judgment had allowed him to fall for a con man’s trick, putting his grandmother in grave danger.

"Miss Grayson, this way, please."

Sebastian Kensington made a gesture, his tone now carrying a clear note of respect.
