My Clones Can Cultivate

Chapter 174: Another Legendary State

Chapter 173

One might think that Guan Ju was just overglazing Haoran, and that would be because they simply had no idea what was happening below, but if they did, they would come to the crucial fact that Liyu was indeed in more than just a precarious situation right now.

Not even the heavens themselves could help that kid win this tournament anymore, or at least that was how Guan Ju said this with an absolute calm and composed tone, as if he was not stating something ridiculous, but nothing more than an ordinary fact, while his expression remained completely relaxed, without the slightest trace of doubt or hesitation.

It sounded more than crazy, really, but that was only because Guan Ju had absolute faith in Haoran taking the win.

His confidence had already reached the point where he could close his eyes and simply wait for the battle to end within the next few minutes, though of course, he was not going to close his eyes because he hated that Liyu bastard far too much for that.

He wanted to be there, wanted to personally witness that bastard’s despair when he finally realized that there was nothing he could do to take the victory anymore, and wanted to see the exact moment when that prideful expression on Liyu’s face crumbled and the realization of his inevitable defeat finally sank into his mind.

At the side, Shi Gubing gave Guan Ju a sideways glance before focusing back on the swirling qi tornado below with a calm gaze, feeling that whatever was happening to that kid below must be pretty immense.

The fact that Guan Ju had spoken those words with such absolute confidence gave Shi Gubing a sense of excitement as well, after all, because he wanted nothing more than to watch the Li Clan suffer a crushing defeat... and not just any defeat, but one where that Liyu brat, who was always so prideful and arrogant, would lose in the most humiliating way possible.

Shi Gubing nodded internally as he focused on the stage below, not wanting to miss anything, since this was a scene he definitely wanted to witness from beginning to end.

At the side, Li San frowned slightly, the reason why he was frowning being something he couldn’t quite place a hand on. There was simply a strange feeling gnawing at him... a feeling that something was about to go wrong, terribly wrong, even.

His eyes remained fixed on the spinning tornado made entirely from pure World Qi, and his frown deepened slightly because the World Qi was swirling too violently, not simply moving around Haoran, but gathering and converging toward him as though something within that tornado was acting like an invisible vortex, drawing the surrounding World Qi into itself.

The further he looked, the more unnatural the phenomenon appeared.

Meanwhile, Elder Ting’s reaction was one of confusion as he tried to make sense of what he was sensing and seeing, knowing that if he didn’t know better, he would have thought that this Haoran kid had achieved the State of Flow that Li Feng had achieved several hours ago, simply because of the World Qi circulating around his figure.

The difference, however, was obvious, as this was clearly not the manifestation of the State of Flow, but almost looked like another legendary state.

Elder Ting’s eyes suddenly widened in shock as he looked at the scene below, his shock barely concealed as he questioned himself: That can’t possibly be possible... can it?

The thought that had crossed his mind was too preposterous for him to even entertain properly, and yet, the more he looked at that raging tornado, the more he felt as if his gut feeling might actually be right... which, in a sense, shouldn’t have made any sense.

There was no way another one of these kids had achieved another legendary state. It made no sense, because it was already an unbelievable occurrence for one person to comprehend and manifest a legendary state at such a young age, yet now, another person seemed to be displaying signs of reaching something equally extraordinary.

Elder Ting refused to believe it, thinking there had to be another explanation, simply because there had to be.

So, Elder Ting sat back down and continued watching the scene below with his usual calm and composed gaze, refusing to allow even the slightest hint of the turmoil stirring deep within his chest to show on his face, though inwardly, his thoughts were anything but calm as he wondered, What exactly is this kid doing?

Meanwhile, back on the stage, Liyu stared at the spinning qi tornado with a tight frown on his face, not knowing why, but feeling a weird feeling... a very bad feeling.

The longer he looked at it, the more uncomfortable he became, feeling slightly apprehensive as if something really bad was about to happen. His instincts, honed through countless battles and his powerful beastly bloodline, were screaming at him: Danger.

Liyu didn’t know whatever Guan Haoran was doing inside that spinning tornado, but whatever it was clearly had to pose a threat to him for him to be feeling like this, and Liyu trusted his instincts, having survived this long precisely because he knew when to act and when not to.

Standing around and waiting for Haoran to finish whatever he was doing was clearly not an option anymore, so Liyu decided against standing backward any longer, choosing to take action instead.

His body bent slightly, his dark claws gleamed beneath the light with their sharp edges reflecting a cold and sinister brilliance, the muscles beneath his skin tightened, his bestial aura surged, and then—

BOOM!

Liyu launched forward with his full bestial force and speed, his figure vanishing, and the ground beneath his feet cracked from the sheer force of his acceleration as his body transformed into a dark blur, crossing the distance between himself and the qi tornado in an instant.

His claws were extended, his eyes were locked onto the center of the tornado, and he was going to slice the entire thing apart and then get the guy hiding amidst it. His attack came with terrifying speed and ferocity, carrying the full strength of his bestial body, but... it failed.

Not only did his attack fail to slice through the qi tornado, but the rebound he had felt earlier when he attacked Guan Haoran’s chest came once again, only this time... it was far more terrifying.

BOOM!

A powerful, baleful force smashed directly into Liyu’s chest, his eyes widened, and his body was blasted backward with insane force as if he had been shot straight out of a cannon blaster.

The force behind the impact was so overwhelming that even the air itself seemed to explode around him as his body flew uncontrollably through the air, and for the first time since the battle had begun, the expression on Liyu’s face changed completely, because that attack had not merely stopped him... it had utterly overwhelmed him.

He managed to twist his body midair before landing calmly on the ground with a calm and steady gaze, although that was only a façade meant to cover up just how much pain was shooting through his nerves from that single counterattack.

What the hell? Liyu cursed inwardly as he looked at the tornado, which seemed to be thinning little by little.

He didn’t know why, but the thinner the tornado became, the more his anxiety grew, knowing it was an inexplicable feeling where something deep within his instincts was warning him that once that tornado completely thinned out.

What he would be facing would no longer be the large guy he had been fighting for several hours now, but a monster... a completely different existence.

Liyu didn’t know why, but he was becoming more and more apprehensive about what was waiting for him once that tornado vanished, so he took in a deep breath, trying to calm the uneasiness building within his chest, and then his gaze unconsciously fell toward his hand, which was shaking.

His eyes narrowed, his already deepened frown seeming to deepen even more. What the hell...? Why is my hand shaking? Why am I so scared?

Liyu stared at his trembling hand for several seconds, thinking this was ridiculous since he had fought countless battles, faced opponents who were stronger than him, opponents who had pushed his body to its absolute limits, and opponents who had nearly killed him.

Yet none of them had ever made his instincts scream like this, and none of them had ever made his body react before his mind could even understand what was happening.

His gaze slowly returned to the nearly thinned tornado, where a vague human shadow could now be seen within it, causing Liyu’s eyes to narrow into slits and a scowl to appear on his face, knowing that whatever was inside that tornado was almost ready to emerge, and for some reason, the thought of seeing what was inside made his heart beat faster.

Meanwhile, Li Xie and Li Jie looked at the stage with trembling eyes and stiffened chests, having been cheering earlier when Liyu had finally seemed to take down Guan Haoran, genuinely thinking the battle was nearing its end.

But not only had Haoran refused to stay down, he had risen again, and then... this happened. Neither of them had any idea what exactly Haoran was doing, but they could feel it... that overwhelming aura permeating the battlefield, that oppressive sensation hanging in the air.

They could feel pressure simply by staring at the receding qi tornado, and they weren’t even close to the stage, standing far away from the center of the battlefield yet finding the pressure reaching them to be far from being small, heavy, suffocating, and enough to make their bodies instinctively tense.

So they could perhaps only imagine what kind of pressure Liyu, who was standing face-to-face with the person inside that tornado, must be feeling, causing the two brothers’ eyes to show worry and wariness as they looked forward, so caught up in their thoughts that they didn’t notice a third figure had joined them.

"When did Brother Yu get here?" A calm female voice suddenly spoke beside them.

Li Jie and Li Xie’s ears perked up, their eyes suddenly widened as that voice was familiar... way too familiar... and they immediately turned around. And there she stood: Li Yuexin was standing right beside them, her gaze locked onto one single person, Liyu.

The moment they saw her, Li Xie and Li Jie were stunned, then both of them immediately appeared at her side, asking her questions and making sure she was fine.

"Yuexin, are you alright?"

"When did you wake up?"

"Do you feel anything strange?"

Their questions came one after another, but Li Yuexin was able to answer all of them with a calm gaze and a small, warm smile, knowing she had genuinely made the two brothers worry themselves half to death.

After confirming that she was indeed fine, the two brothers finally relaxed, and then they began telling her everything that had happened ever since she lost consciousness, telling her how Liyu had swooped in at the very last moment.

How he had managed to take down Shi Lan and crush him with brutal efficiency, and then telling her how he had taken down Guan Feng and Guan Jian as well.

After that came the tough battle between him and Shi Mo, the gravity user, telling her everything without leaving out a single important detail... including the fact that the battle between Liyu and Guan Haoran had already lasted for several hours, and that the battle wasn’t merely exciting, but catastrophic.

With every exchange between the two having shaken the entire battlefield and created enough force to make even those watching from the sidelines feel the terror of what was happening.
