My Clones Can Cultivate

Chapter 182: This Guy Is... A Freak (1)

Chapter 182

Of course, Liyu was no fool. Even if he had managed to smart-talk Haoran into abusing his limitless Qi and using endless Behemoth Punches to overwhelm him, surely, if that happened, he wouldn’t be able to survive for long. Surviving that kind of assault itself would be more than a miracle.

Even lasting for a considerable amount of time under that situation would be nearly impossible. Thankfully, the big guy had been convinced. And since Haoran was brutallyand almost stupidly... honest, Liyu was certain that he wasn’t going to suddenly change his mind or try to trick him after agreeing to fight fairly.

But even that still wasn’t enough to help Liyu secure his victory. Not even close. Liyu was certain of that. He knew better than anyone just how terrifying the gap between them currently was. Getting Haoran to stop using Behemoth Punch was only the first step.

It removed the most ridiculous and unfair advantage Haoran possessed, but it didn’t suddenly make the two of them equals. Far from it. That was why Liyu had decided to increase his chances by as many times as possible.

While he chatted with Haoran, telling the big guy about the importance of playing fair and having an honorable battle, he was simultaneously opening his shop tab and searching for something... anything... that could boost his powers.

Anything that could help him take the win. He was willing to take it. He was willing to use it. At this point, there was no room for pride or unnecessary restraint.

If the system shop possessed something that could increase his chances of defeating this ridiculous monster standing before him, then Liyu would use it without hesitation. And so, with that thought in mind, he opened the shop feature of the system.

At first, he tried looking for a weapon. Perhaps there was some kind of weapon powerful enough to help him take down Haoran. After all, the system shop contained all kinds of bizarre and terrifying items. There had to be something capable of giving him a significant advantage.

There were indeed a few weapons that could probably accomplish the task. But their prices were terrifyingly high. Liyu didn’t even look at them twice before immediately taking his eyes away. Forget it. Even if those weapons could help him win, spending that many Essence Points on a single item was simply too much. He still had other things he needed to prepare for.

From there, he roamed through the system shop for a while, searching through one category after another but failing to find anything good enough. His search for something capable of directly boosting his combat power seemed to be going nowhere. That was until his search eventually reached the Elixir and Pill section.

Liyu’s eyes immediately sharpened. He opened the section and began searching through it. As usual, the number of pills and elixirs available was enormous. Each one came with its own effects and its own price. Some were cheap enough that Liyu could purchase them without even blinking.

Others were so ridiculously expensive that even he couldn’t help but feel his heart ache at the thought of buying them.

So Liyu did the only sensible thing. He used the filter feature. With that, he was able to narrow the enormous list down to just a few dozen options. And among those few dozen, he managed to find exactly what he was looking for. Basic Strength Elixir. Basic Speed Elixir. Basic Endurance Elixir. Basic Stamina Elixir. The list went on like that.

They weren’t some earth-shattering treasures capable of instantly transforming him into an invincible monster, but that wasn’t what Liyu needed. He only needed something that could push his current abilities a little further. Something that could increase his chances. Something that could help him close the ridiculous gap between himself and Haoran.

Liyu purchased those four. They were still pretty costly in Liyu’s opinion, costing about 3,000 Essence Points each, but Liyu couldn’t afford to be stingy. Not in the situation he was currently in. This wasn’t the time to worry about saving Essence Points. His life was literally on the line.

So Liyu bought all four without hesitation. And after his conversation with the big guy was finally done, he used his mental command to directly pass the elixirs into his body without needing to actually take them out and deal with the hassle of consuming them himself.

The moment the effects of the elixirs spread through his body, Liyu felt it. A surge of intoxicating power flooded every fiber of his being. It wasn’t an overwhelming transformation, but it was enough to make his entire body tremble slightly. His muscles seemed to tighten.

His limbs felt lighter. His body became more resilient. His strength surged. His speed increased. His endurance and stamina were also pushed higher. Liyu’s gaze trembled slightly as he took in a deep breath. He could feel the changes coursing through every part of his body. Then he slowly exhaled.

At the same time, the Hybrid Form that had previously receded deep within his body suddenly sprang back to the surface once more.

Boom!

The transformation wasn’t as simple as before. This time, Liyu had to sacrifice 100 out of his 1,000 Qi Beads to make it happen. Normally, what followed after something like this could be pretty dire.

After all, there was always a risk of cultivation regression occurring if the violent Qi current generated from the shattered Qi Beads damaged the remaining ones. And that happened rather often. Once the Qi Beads were damaged beyond what his cultivation could withstand, the consequences could be severe.

But Liyu was willing to take that risk. Because his confidence lay in something else. One of his skills. Perfect Efficiency.

With Perfect Efficiency, Liyu was able to regulate the shattered Qi Beads with terrifying precision, controlling the chaotic energy that would normally be difficult to manage. The violent Qi current generated from the shattered beads was immediately redirected. Instead of allowing that energy to run rampant through his body, Liyu guided it toward his Hybrid Form.

The tremendous amount of Qi was used to fuel his transformation, pouring into every limb and every muscle while filling his entire body with terrifying power. And once again, Liyu felt that familiar sensation. Power. Pure, overwhelming power surging through his body. He clenched his fists. His claws slowly extended.

His yellow slit pupils gleamed with an increasingly dangerous light. The Hybrid Form had returned. And this time, Liyu was stronger than before.

Of course, the pain from shattering a hundred of his Qi Beads was still there, but compared to the pains Liyu had already suffered at the hands of Haoran, it was really not worth mentioning.

He had already endured having his hands mangled, his chest nearly caved in, his head smashed into the marble stage, and his entire body being sent flying like a ragdoll. Compared to all of that, the pain from shattering a hundred Qi Beads was almost insignificant. At least, that was how Liyu saw it.

Soon, his hair thickened once more, the strands growing fuller as they fluttered violently around his face. His nails stretched out, transforming into sharp, terrifying claws, while his eyes, when they opened once more, had turned back into their familiar yellow slits. But this time, there was something different about them.

They glowed with even more power than before. A dangerous light flickered within those yellow slit pupils, carrying a mixture of excitement, madness, and an intense desire to battle. Now, he was ready for the next round.

Liyu charged straight at Guan Haoran, who was still as calm as ever. There wasn’t even the slightest ripple of emotion on Haoran’s face. He simply stood there, his white glowing eyes quietly watching Liyu approach as if he wasn’t facing an opponent who had just pushed himself even further, but rather someone whose every move had already been seen through.

But Liyu didn’t care. With all the boosts he had received, his speed was greater than before. His body blurred.

Whoosh!

In an instant, he appeared right before Haoran. He didn’t wait for even a second. His fist shot forward.

BOOM!

The very air itself seemed to crack beneath the force behind his punch. The pressure generated by his fist caused the surrounding air to distort violently as it tore forward, carrying enough force to make the space around his arm tremble.

Haoran calmly raised a hand to stop his attack.

BAM!

BANG!

Liyu’s fist smashed into Haoran’s guard. And for the first time since Haoran entered the State of Overflow, his hand shifted. Several inches. It might have looked like a small movement. Almost insignificant. But everyone watching closely could immediately tell what it meant.

Previously, when Liyu had attacked him, Haoran’s hand hadn’t moved even an inch. Not even slightly. His defense had been so ridiculous that Liyu’s attacks had felt almost meaningless against him. But now? Haoran’s arm had been forced backward several inches.

That might have been a small movement, but compared to the previous exchanges, it was a massive development.

Liyu’s eyes gleamed. He didn’t wait for Haoran to regain his bearing. He pressed forward with the attack.

BANG!

His fist came again. Then another. And another. Each punch carried far more force than before, his boosted physical strength allowing him to unleash a level of power that was completely different from what he had displayed earlier. Liyu had received several boosts from consuming multiple high-quality elixirs.

Well, technically, they were all only Basic Tier. But Liyu had already learned something important about the system. Anything obtained from the system couldn’t be underestimated. He could testify to that more than anyone.

And so, without anyone needing to tell him, he knew for certain that he would be getting something good from those elixirs. And heck, they were surely good. The explosive boost to his physical strength, speed, endurance, stamina, and other physical attributes was proof enough.

Still, Liyu didn’t allow himself to become distracted by the changes. He didn’t dawdle. He didn’t waste time admiring his newfound power. Instead, he made sure to press the attack relentlessly.

After all, these boosts would only last for thirty minutes. Thirty minutes. That was all the time he had. If he wasn’t able to take Haoran down before those thirty minutes were up, then things might once again get out of hand. Not as if things hadn’t already gotten out of hand. They had. They were already ridiculously out of hand.

It would just get even more out of hand after the thirty-minute duration ended. And that was something Liyu absolutely couldn’t allow. He needed to secure victory before the boosts wore off.

So he attacked. Again. And again. And again. For a while, Liyu actually managed to push Haoran backward. His attacks came relentlessly, forcing Haoran to defend himself rather than immediately retaliating. Hope slowly swelled within Liyu’s chest.

Could it be?

Could these boosts really be enough? Could he actually bridge the ridiculous gap between himself and Haoran? For a brief moment, Liyu felt that perhaps his preparation had finally paid off.

But almost as quickly as that hope rose, it was completely extinguished. Because after a while of adjusting to his body... or at least, that was what it seemed like from Liyu’s perspective... Haoran finally started fighting back. And the moment that happened, Liyu quickly realized something.

This guy was a freak!
