My Cuckhold System

Chapter 313: We’re Throwing A Party

The remaining Iron Vultures members looked toward where Bloodstain lay motionless before staring back at West.

Fear began replacing their determination.

One person took a step backward, another lowered his weapon while someone turned and ran.

That single action shattered what little resolve remained.

Within moments, the remaining Iron Vultures members began retreating in every direction.

Nobody wanted to become the next casualty.

Only Bloodstain’s right-hand man remained.

His expression was a mixture of fury, grief and disbelief.

Without saying a word, he appeared beside Bloodstain’s body, carefully lifted his fallen leader onto his shoulder, and turned toward West one final time.

His eyes burned with hatred. "I will remember this day..."

A long silence followed before he added. "...West Einstein."

With those final words, he disappeared into the retreating crowd.

West watched them leave without pursuing.

Behind him, cheers slowly erupted from the Shadow Reapers.

Against impossible odds... Their tiny gang had survived.

...

...

The next morning, Misty High City looked like it had survived a natural disaster.

The streets surrounding the Shadow Reapers headquarters remained completely sealed off as emergency response teams, cleanup crews, construction workers and city officials continued working tirelessly.

Even after an entire hour had passed since sunrise, the work had barely made a dent.

Heavy machinery rolled back and forth, scooping away shattered concrete and twisted metal while cranes carefully lifted collapsed sections of nearby buildings. Everywhere one looked were broken vehicles, shattered windows and long gouges carved into the roads by the battle that had taken place the previous day.

Body bags were lined up in rows.

The deceased members of Iron Vultures who had fallen during the war were being respectfully collected while medical teams treated the wounded that had survived.

Several awakened with bloodlines that allowed them manipulate the earth, worked alongside construction companies, trying to stabilize damaged buildings before they collapsed completely.

One cleanup worker wiped the sweat from his forehead before looking around in disbelief.

"I’ve worked after gang wars before..."

"...but this is the first time I’m witnessing a full blown out war."

His partner nodded. "Iron Vultures really got wiped out."

Nearby, several police officers discussed the situation quietly.

"The official count isn’t even complete yet."

"The reconstruction alone will probably take weeks."

"And the paperwork..."

One officer sighed. "I don’t even want to think about it."

Despite all the destruction... The Shadow Reapers headquarters stood nearly untouched.

Its reinforced walls remained standing proudly while only the surrounding streets bore the scars of the conflict.

Many people couldn’t help but stare.

"...How?"

"...How is their base still standing?"

"They were completely surrounded."

"They should’ve been wiped out."

Those same questions quickly found their way to the reporters who had completely flooded the area.

News vans occupied nearly every available parking space with cameras pointed toward the base and microphones were everywhere.

Live broadcasts had already begun.

One reporter stood before the camera while speaking excitedly.

"Yesterday witnessed one of the largest gang conflicts in recent Misty High history."

"Veteran gang Iron Vultures launched what appeared to be a full-scale assault on the newly established Shadow Reapers."

She paused dramatically. "Against every prediction..."

"...Shadow Reapers survived."

She received new information through her earpiece causing her eyes to widen. "I’m receiving confirmation now..."

"The Iron Vultures organization has officially ceased operating."

The cameraman looked up. "What?"

She nodded slowly. "Their leadership has collapsed."

"The majority of their remaining members have reportedly abandoned the organization overnight."

"Multiple businesses previously operating under Iron Vultures protection have already begun seeking contracts elsewhere."

She looked back into the camera. "After years of operating within Misty High..."

"Iron Vultures no longer exists."

Social media exploded upon the revelation of this news.

Forums, news articles, television stations... everyone was talking about one thing.

How had such a tiny gang like Shadow Reapers survived?

Not only had they merely survived, they had won. That was the unbelievable part.

Gang wars occurred all the time and in most cases, smaller gangs were crushed by larger ones.

That was simply how awakened society functioned.

Yet this... this had completely overturned common sense.

An organization with barely fifty members had destroyed a gang that once ranked comfortably within the city’s top hundred.

It sounded impossible, uet the evidence surrounded everyone... Iron Vultures was gone.

Meanwhile... inside the headquarters... the atmosphere couldn’t have been more different.

Instead of chaos, there was laughter, excitement and. disbelief.

Everyone kept retelling yesterday’s battle from their own perspective.

The newer recruits especially couldn’t stop talking. "I swear that giant nearly flattened twenty people with one swing!"

"No way! It was at least thirty!"

"The giant wasn’t even the craziest thing!"

"Did you see Seraphyra?"

"She swallowed ten people whole!"

"I’ve never seen summons that terrifying."

Another recruit nodded enthusiastically.

"I thought we were dead when they surrounded us."

"I honestly started writing my will in my head."

Just then, the headquarters doors opened and several familiar figures walked inside carrying backpacks covered in dust.

It was Hart, Nina and several other Shadow Reapers members.

They had finally returned after successfully clearing the ruin they had been assigned before the war started.

Hart frowned. "What happened?" He had apparently seen all the ruckus outside.

Jax sprinted over dramatically. "HART!"

He grabbed both of Hart’s shoulders.

"...What?" Hart yelled.

Jax took a deep breath. "You have missed..."

"...THE GREATEST EVENT IN SHADOW REAPERS HISTORY!"

Hart sighed. "Oh no."

Jax proceeded to climb onto a nearby table. "Gather around everyone!"

Several recruits immediately pulled chairs over laughing while Nina folded her arms with curiosity.

Jax spread his hands theatrically. "So picture this..."

He pointed dramatically toward the entrance. "We’re minding our own business."

"Suddenly!"

He stomped. "The Iron Vultures arrive!"

He widened his eyes. "Not twenty."

"Not fifty."

"Over one hundred awakened!"

The recruits gasped despite already knowing the outcome.

Jax continued making exaggerated gestures. "They’re yelling!"

"They’re screaming!"

"They’re threatening!"

"They’re all like..."

"’Bring us West Einstein!’"

He puffed out his chest while mimicking Bloodstain’s voice causing several recruits to burst into laughter.

Nina pinched the bridge of her nose. "You’re making half of this up."

"I am not!"

"You absolutely are."

"I am artistically enhancing reality."

Everyone laughed harder while Hart simply shook his head. "I leave for one ruin..."

"...and apparently the entire city changes."

Several people began filling Nina and Hart in properly afterward without Jax’s theatrical additions.

Both listened quietly and by the time the story finished... even Hart looked genuinely surprised.

"They actually attacked the base..."

One recruit nodded. "They really thought they could wipe us out."

Hart looked toward West’s office. "...Boss really is something else."

Hours later, a notification rang throughout the headquarters.

Everyone gathered inside the main hall as West stood before them.

His expression remained calm as always and after a few moments, the chatter died down.

He looked across the gathered members.

Some had bandages, some looked exhausted, others still carried bruises from yesterday, yet every single one of them was smiling.

West couldn’t help smiling as well. "We’ve had..."

"...a very successful last couple of months."

Several members chuckled. That was certainly one way to put it.

West continued. "We successfully defended our headquarters."

"We eliminated one of the biggest threats standing in our way."

"We’ve completed thirty ruins."

A large display behind him lit up, showing the latest rankings.

Shadow Reapers =>

Worldwide Rank: 10,909

Misty High City Rank: 109

Gasps of astonishment filled the room.

Even though they had already heard rumors... seeing it officially displayed felt different.

Only a few months ago... they had practically been unknown.

Now, they were only a few positions away from entering the city’s top one hundred gangs.

West smiled. "We’re not done."

"...Not even close."

"But."

He looked around at everyone. "You’ve all worked harder than I expected."

"You trusted me."

"You fought beside each other."

"You survived."

He nodded once.

"So..."

"I’ve decided."

A grin slowly spread across his face. "We’re throwing a party."

A brief silence ensued, before...

"YES!"

Cheers exploded throughout the headquarters.

Jax practically leapt into the air. "I KNEW IT!"

"I’ve been waiting for this!"

One recruit laughed. "I thought he’d announce more training!"

Another shook his head.

"Forget training!"

"I want food!"

"I want music!"

"I want to sleep for twelve hours first!"

The entire headquarters dissolved into laughter again.

The Shadow Reapers’ victory celebration had not even begun, yet invitations had already become one of the hottest commodities among Misty High City’s awakened community.

After the complete collapse of Iron Vultures, nearly everyone wanted to witness firsthand the young gang that had accomplished what many thought impossible.

Far away, within one of the city’s most heavily protected districts, a beautifully decorated estate sat peacefully atop a hill overlooking the skyline.

Inside its luxurious study, Zu Li placed a freshly delivered envelope onto her desk.

The elegant black card bore a silver insignia she immediately recognized...

Shadow Reapers.

A smile spread across her beautiful face before she had even opened it.

"So the little brat finally decided to celebrate."

She unfolded the invitation gracefully.

> Shadow Reapers Celebration Banquet

Celebrating thirty successful ruin clears and recent victories.

Your attendance would be greatly appreciated.

Zu Li chuckled softly. "Thirty ruins already..."

Her eyes lingered on the invitation. "...You’ve grown much faster than I expected."
