Nobody spoke for several minutes and the peaceful silence felt strangely comforting.
West finally smiled. "...Thanks."
The three women looked at him in confoundment as he continued.
"For fighting beside me."
"For trusting me."
"For always being there."
Seraphyra leaned against his shoulder. "We’ll always be there."
Gor’thala nodded. "You gave us purpose."
Aurethia looked toward the fireworks. "You summoned us."
"Our blade."
"Our strength."
"Our loyalty."
"They are yours."
West smiled softly. "...Then let’s keep getting stronger together."
Above them... another brilliant burst of fireworks painted the night sky with brilliant gold and sapphire colors.
For one peaceful evening... there were no enemies.

The Shadow Reapers celebration finally arrived.
For the first time since its founding, the headquarters wasn’t filled with strategy meetings, training sessions, ruin reports or emergency briefings.
Instead... it was blasting with celebration.
Aria had personally taken charge of every single detail, refusing help from almost everyone except a handful of members she trusted. The result was nothing short of spectacular.
The usually impressive headquarters had been transformed into an elegant banquet hall. Black and silver drapes bearing the Shadow Reapers insignia decorated the walls, while crystal chandeliers bathed the room in warm golden light.
Floating holographic projections replayed memorable moments from the gang’s journey ranging from successful ruin clears to the recruitment of members, training sessions, and finally, the dramatic climb in the rankings.
A long stage occupied the far end of the hall where a live jazz band alternated with modern performances from professional entertainers. Laughter echoed from every corner as waiters moved gracefully between tables carrying expensive meals, desserts and drinks.
Several interactive games and contests had even been arranged around the venue. A photo booth with magical effects was packed with recruits trying ridiculous poses, while another corner featured simulated combat games that had already attracted competitive awakeners from several visiting gangs.
The atmosphere was relaxed and joyful.
"...I knew she’d go all out," West stood near the entrance, quietly surveying everything.
Aria approached wearing a breathtaking midnight-blue evening gown that perfectly complemented her pink hair. The dress hugged her figure elegantly without being flashy, and a pair of sapphire earrings reflected the lights whenever she moved.
She smiled nervously. "...Too much?"
West chuckled. "I was going to say you should’ve become an event planner instead."
She lightly elbowed him. "I’ll take that as a compliment."
"You should."
Before they could continue talking, more guests began arriving.
Several leaders from smaller gangs entered first, each bringing gifts or congratulatory letters.
Then... the atmosphere changed when the doors opened once more.
Conversations across the hall visibly slowed as an overbearing feminine figure stepped in.
She wore a magnificent crimson evening dress with intricate golden embroidery flowing like phoenix feathers along the fabric.
The dress fit her flawlessly, elegant rather than excessive, with one shoulder left bare while a high slit revealed long graceful legs as she walked.
Her long black hair cascaded freely down her back, decorated only by a delicate golden ornament shaped like a blooming flower. Matching ruby earrings swayed gently as she moved.
She wasn’t merely beautiful.
She possessed the sort of mature elegance that commanded attention without demanding it.
Even many female guests couldn’t help stealing another glance.
Jax, carrying three plates of food simultaneously, nearly walked into a pillar.
"...Boss..."
"...Lady Zu Li just keeps cheating."
West laughed. "How is existing cheating?"
"I don’t know."
Jax shook his head dramatically. "But she’s definitely doing it."
Zu Li reached West and smiled warmly. "So."
"You’ve grown even more famous."
West returned the smile. "I was hoping you’d come."
"You invited me," she raised an eyebrow playfully.
"It would’ve been rude not to."
Soon after... another distinguished guest arrived.
The leader of Iron Chain.
Unlike Bloodstain’s intimidating presence, Iron Chain’s leader possessed a calmer aura. He was a broad-shouldered man in his late thirties wearing a tailored charcoal suit instead of combat attire with his neatly combed dark hair and a scar on his face.
He laughed heartily as he approached. "West Einstein... we meet again."
West shook his hand politely. "Thanks for the last time."
"Don’t mention. I’ll still cash in that favour when the time is right," The older man laughed.
"Half the city is trying to figure out how you managed to erase Iron Vultures."
West simply smiled. "Hard work."
The man laughed even louder. "I like you even more now."
As the evening continued, more influential figures arrived ranging from business owners to sonsors to awakened contractors and several veteran gang members.
Even representatives from organizations that normally paid little attention to new gangs had decided to attend.
Shadow Reapers had become impossible to ignore.
Meanwhile... across the hall... Renzhi silently stared at everything. He and a few other grand captains were present but he was the only one not mingling at the moment.
Every compliment directed toward West, irritated him a little more.
Beside him, Zu Li glanced over. "You haven’t congratulated him yet."
"I was waiting."
She smiled sweetly. "Don’t. Go now."
Renzhi’s smile became noticeably stiffer. "...Of course."
He immediately crossed the hall, headed in West’s direction.
West noticed him approaching almost immediately and a polite smile appeared on his face. "Senior Renzhi."
Renzhi extended his hand. "Congratulations."
"Your recent accomplishments have been... remarkable."
West accepted the handshake. "Thank you."
"I appreciate it."
Their eyes met and both smiled, fakely.
West couldn’t help laughing inwardly. ’You must be furious... having to congratulate the very person you’ve spent months trying to destroy.’
The thought alone made this handshake strangely satisfying.
Renzhi released his hand after only a few seconds. "I wish your gang continued success."
"I’m sure we’ll meet again."
West nodded. "I’m looking forward to it."
’Oh poor Renzhi... you really don’t know what I have planned for you after this.’
Renzhi forced another smile before returning to Zu Li’s side.
She looked pleased. "See?"
"That wasn’t difficult."
"No."
Renzhi answered calmly. "Not at all."
Internally, he wanted to scream.
Meanwhile... West finally found a moment to sit with Zu Li.
The two chatted comfortably about recent events, city politics and awakened affairs while several influential guests occasionally joined the conversation.
