West quietly muttered to himself. "Whoever receives an Awakening Voucher has to be trustworthy... loyal... and capable."
He slowly looked out the conference room window toward the bustling headquarters below.
"This decision... can’t be rushed."
West said this but he knew there was no time. Three months was a very short duration for the numbers he needed... so he had to find a very amicable way to deal with this situation.

Meanwhile...
At the edge of Misty High, hidden behind enormous black iron gates...
Lay one of the principal estates belonging to one of the Mafia households.
Unlike ordinary mansions... this place resembled an ancient fortress.
Dark marble columns stretched toward impossibly high ceilings while massive crimson banners bearing the household emblem hung along every wall.
Everything about the architecture projected authority, power and legacy.
Within the grand council chamber... a meeting was already underway.
Long tables formed a semicircle around an elevated throne-like seat.
Numerous Mafia elders occupied the room and standing quietly beside the household head’s left shoulder... was Freya.
The room got heated with discussion as one elderly man slammed his fist onto the table.
"We have failed repeatedly."
"Every century..."
"The same outcome."
Another elder sighed.
"The Heart of Genesis remains beyond our reach."
"Four hundred years."
"Four failures."
"This cannot continue."
Murmurs spread throughout the chamber.
At the head of the room sat the Mafia Patriarch of this branch.
A broad-shouldered man with streaks of silver running through his otherwise jet-black hair.
His calm eyes swept across everyone present before he finally spoke. "It will be different this time."
The room immediately quieted as he slowly turned toward Freya. "Daughter."
Freya stepped forward gracefully and bowed respectfully. "I have prepared."
Several elders smiled approvingly as she straightened before speaking.
"I’ve spent the past months assembling exceptionally capable first-year awakeners."
"They have impressive potential."
"I believe..."
"...they possess the greatest chance our family has ever had."
"My team will retrieve the Heart of Genesis."
Several approving voices immediately echoed.
"Excellent."
"As expected of Lady Freya."
"The Patriarch chose well."
"Our hopes rest with you."
Freya smiled modestly. "You honor me."
Just then...
BOOM!
The enormous chamber doors suddenly swung open, resulting in the halting of every conversation.
Heavy footsteps echoed throughout the room as a massive figure entered.
Thud~
Thud~
Thud~
Seven months earlier...
West would recognise this face but now... he had changed dramatically.
His shoulders had broadened considerably with muscle pushing out beneath his fitted black attire.
A spiky scar crossed his left eye, forcing it permanently shut.
Rather than weakening his appearance... it made him look infinitely more intimidating, mature and dangerous.
If someone hadn’t known they were twins... Few would not believe he and Freya shared the same face.
Every step commanded attention, causing several elders to instinctively straighten.
Timothy stopped before the central table as his single visible eye slowly swept across the room.
"Aren’t you..."
"...all forgetting something?"
His gaze settled upon Freya as the surroundings turned completely silent.
"I’m also a first-year awakener."
One elder nervously cleared his throat. "Young Master..."
"When did you return?"
"We believed you were still completing the Patriarch’s assignment."
Without saying a word... Timothy lifted a thick stack of documents.
SLAM!
The papers crashed onto the table.
"I’ve finished."
"I successfully cleared one hundred ruins."
"...Exactly as Father instructed."
The room erupted in shock. "One hundred?"
"So quickly?"
"Incredible..."
Even several elders looked genuinely impressed. They didn’t think someone incapable like Timothy would have successfully cleared this number in seven months.
They believed it would take him at least a couple of years.
There was no doubt that he had changed a lot...
Freya quietly studied her brother with perfectly composed expression.
Only her eyes hinted that countless thoughts were already racing through her mind.
Timothy never looked away from her.
"I will participate in the Castle Extingo Expedition," his deep voice echoed throughout the chamber.
"And..."
"...I will bring back the treasure."
His declaration hung heavily in the air and for a brief moment... nobody spoke.
Finally... Freya smiled with a completely unbothered look. "Of course."
"It is your right to participate, brother."
She folded her hands politely. "But..."
"...there is one problem."
"You don’t have a team."
Timothy’s visible eye narrowed upon hearing that. "Then..."
"I’ll gather one."
Neither sibling looked away while the elders silently exchanged glances.
Everyone in the room understood...
Before Castle Extingo had even opened... a new battle... had already begun

Several days passed in the blink of an eye.
During that period, Shadow Reapers continued operating as normal. Expedition teams came and went, Aria remained buried beneath mountains of paperwork, Jax and the first-year squad began venturing farther outside Misty High in search of Affinity Stones, and West spent most of his time juggling gang affairs with preparations for Castle Extingo.
Today, however, was different.
Today had nothing to do with ruins, gangs, battles or Castle Extingo preparations...
Today was inspection Day.
A glossy surfaced black luxury SUV rolled through the front gates of Shadow Reapers Headquarters before stopping neatly in the courtyard.
The rear passenger door opened and out stepped Liz.
Several nearby members instinctively turned.
Even though they’d seen her before... she was still breathtaking.
Her silky black hair flowed almost to her waist, shimmering softly beneath the morning sunlight. She wore a cream-colored fitted blazer over a charcoal blouse tucked neatly into a pencil skirt that accentuated her curvaceous figure without appearing excessive.
Black heels clicked rhythmically across the pavement, while a leather document folder rested beneath one arm.
She looked every bit the accomplished real estate consultant.
Her naturally striking features were complemented by subtle makeup, making her seem less like someone headed for work and more like the star of a luxury magazine cover.
A few recruits whispered among themselves.
"So that’s the Miss Liz?"
"I finally understand what Jax meant."
"She’s unbelievably beautiful..."
Jax happened to overhear them and folded his arms dramatically.
"Children..."
"Beauty is temporary."
"You must look beyond."
Nina happened to walk by and looked at him. "...Says the guy who almost bought a sports car because it looked cool."
The nearby recruits burst into laughter while Jax pointed accusingly. "Why must you always attack me personally?"
Before Nina could respond, West emerged from headquarters with a smile.
"Morning."
Liz smiled back. "Morning."
"I hope you’re ready."
West laughed. "I spent twelve million dollars."
"I’d better be."
