She remained bent over the sofa arm with her legs weak and her face flushed with bliss.
If only she was aware that the person whose meat had granted her relief from her grief was the same person responsible for her husband’s disappearances.
Hours later, after night had settled over Misty High, Yelena now lay peacefully on the sofa beneath a neatly folded blanket, her breathing slow and even.
Tear stains still marked her cheeks but instead of grief, this was from the ecstasy brought about by West’s good plowing.
West sat in the armchair opposite her with his gaze lingering on the fake sleeping widow.
"...Sleep well," he muttered quietly. "I’ll be sure to let your husband know you squirted up to five times today."
He rose from his seat, adjusted the blanket over her shoulders and quietly dimmed the lights before walking toward the large window overlooking the city.
West folded his arms. "My revenge really is unfolding exactly as I imagined..."
A faint smile crossed his lips before disappearing just as quickly.
He remained there for several more minutes, simply making sure she was comfortable before slipping out of the living room to give her some quiet.
...
Across the city... Liz had finally returned home.
The day’s inspections had left her exhausted, yet strangely energized.
She unlocked the apartment door quietly. "I’m home."
Her fiancé smiled from the bedroom. "Welcome back."
She immediately changed into comfortable clothes before helping him settle into bed for the evening.
Just as she always did... she adjusted his pillows, helped him sit comfortably, prepared his medication, checked his blanket before finally serving him a light evening meal.
"You spoil me too much," he said with a guilty smile.
Liz gently rubbed his hair. "You’ve said that a hundred times."
"And I’ll say it another hundred."
He reached up, kissed the back of her hand affectionately and whispered, "Thank you."
She smiled softly. "You don’t have to thank me."
"I do."
Once dinner was over, she helped him wash up before carefully assisting him back beneath the covers.
Eventually... she climbed into bed beside him and the room turned quiet.
He naturally wrapped an arm around her while she leaned against his shoulder.
Everything should have felt peaceful, comforting and safe... yet... her mind refused to settle.
Instead... images from earlier today replayed themselves one after another.
West laughing in the car, teasing her about property investments, effortlessly stopping the charging bear with one hand and smiling after asking if she was alright.
She shut her eyes tighter. "No..."
"Stop thinking about him."
Beside her, her fiancé breathed steadily.
She loved this man and had spent seven months caring for him without complaining even once...
So... why was another man’s smile suddenly occupying her thoughts?
She slowly pulled the blanket higher as a wave of guilt enveloped her.
’I’m lying here beside my fiancé...’
’...and another man is in my head.’
She hated herself for it.
Her fiancé’s earlier words returned once more.
~ "I wouldn’t be mad if you fucked someone else..." ~
Her breathing became uneven. "...No."
"...I shouldn’t."
She turned slightly onto her side, yet the thought refused to disappear.
The more she thought about it, the more images of West’s wrapping his strong arms around her waist, driving her into a wall, parting her thighs... kept playing in her head.
She instinctively rubbed her thighs together, feeling moistness build up.
"What if..."
"...just once?"
Her heart skipped but she immediately she shook her head. "What am I thinking..."
She closed her eyes, desperately trying to sleep before those thoughts wandered any further.

~ Three days later ~
(( Dragon Fang Headquarters ))
BOOM!
West’s back slammed against the training mats.
Zu Li stood over him with one knee pressed firmly into his chest while twisting one of his wrists behind his back.
A faint grin appeared on her usually composed face.
"You were mouthing off earlier about beating me in a spar."
She looked down at him. "How’s that working out for you?"
West chuckled despite being pinned. "You really want me to get serious?"
"Hmph," she applied a little more pressure. "Defeating Bloodstain has really gotten to your head."
West smiled. "No."
"It just made me realize something."
"And what’s that?"
"You underestimate me."
Zu Li snorted. "Oh?"
West’s smile widened. "Every single time."
Before she could respond... his muscles suddenly budged..
Zu Li expected resistance but what she didn’t expect was what happened next....
West suddenly pushed upwards withe explosive force, twisted his trapped shoulder free and completely reversed their positions.
THUMP!
Her eyes widened. "What—"
In the blink of an eye, Zu Li found herself laying flat on her back.
Her wrists were suddenly pinned above her head, both held by West effortlessly with one hand.
His other hand rested lightly around her neck, painting quite the steamy picture.
He leaned over slightly. "You underestimate me too much."
For the first time in years... Zu Li froze as her heartbeat became strangely loud.
She had fought countless awakeners, monsters and even gang leaders... yet...
No man had ever managed to dominate her physically like this during a fight.
She stared up at West. "...You’re..."
Before she could finish, the training room doors slid open.
A Dragon Fang Grand Captain stood frozen upon stepping in.
Behind him... ten newly recruited members also froze.
Everyone blinked in confusion. "...Eh?"
West looked toward the doorway. "...Eh?"
Zu Li looked toward the doorway. "...Eh?"
The Grand Captain immediately stiffened. "...Gang Leader..."
"...S-sorry."
"We thought..."
"...this room was unoccupied."
The recruits looked between West... and Zu Li... then back again.
Their expressions became increasingly complicated.
One slowly whispered, "...Should we..."
Another immediately whispered back, "...Don’t."
Zu Li’s face instantly turned scarlet as she glared at West.
The next second...
WHOOSH!
West was launched upward at astonishing speed... and before he even landed... Zu Li grabbed his arm and flung him across the room.
CRASH!
He smashed through several padded training dummies before stopping against the wall.
She stood elegantly and cleared her throat. "...Ahem."
"We were just finishing training."
The Grand Captain nodded so quickly his neck almost snapped. "No!"
"Our apologies!"
"We’ll come back later!"
The doors were shut almost immediately but outside, whispers could already be heard.
"...Did you see that?"
"...No way..."
"...The Gang Leader..."
"...and Shadow Reapers gang leader..."
Zu Li buried her face in one hand. "...Wonderful."
"There go tomorrow’s rumors."
West dusted himself off before walking back over. "Ouch."
He rubbed his shoulder dramatically. "Did you have to throw me that hard?"
She refused to meet his eyes. "You deserved it."
"I was winning."
"You were lucky."
"I distinctly remember pinning you."
"You remember wrong."
"I don’t think I do."
She finally looked at him with noticeably pink cheeks. "...Training is over."
"My office... now!"
...
A few minutes later... they sat opposite one another inside her spacious office.
Tea had already been served and the earlier embarrassment had mostly faded.
Zu Li folded her hands together. "Castle Extingo is coming."
West smiled unsurprised. "Of course you’d know about it."
"You’re a veteran gang leader."
She nodded. "I’ve known about it for a long time.."
She looked directly at him. "I have several promising first-year awakeners."
"I’d like you to lead them inside Castle Extingo under Dragon Fang’s banner."
West smiled apologetically. "I appreciate the offer."
"But I’ll have to decline."
She raised an eyebrow. "You already have a team?"
"I have several plans," he counted on his fingers. "Shadow Reapers..."
"My own objectives..."
"...And Freya..."
The moment that name left his mouth... Zu Li’s expression changed.
Her brows knitted together. "...Freya?"
"The Mafia family’s daughter?"
West nodded. "Yeah."
Silence lingered for a few moments before Zu Li slowly leaned forward.
Her tone became unusually serious. "Stay away from that one."
West blinked. "...Why?"
She looked him directly in the eyes. "Because she’s bad news."
There wasn’t the slightest hint of humor in her voice.
West leaned back thoughtfully. "...You don’t have to tell me twice... but that’s easier said than done."
Zu Li eyes displayed an expression of curiosity. "Why so?"
"Because she’s targeting me," West answered truthfully. "But no worries... I’ll handle it."

~ The Next Day ~
The Shadow Reapers headquarters had become noticeably busier over the past few weeks.
Ever since the gang’s victory over Iron Vultures, investors, business owners, contractors, media representatives and even smaller gangs hoping to establish friendly relations came and went almost every day.
The once quiet headquarters had slowly transformed into the bustling nerve center of one of Misty High City’s fastest-rising organizations.
Inside the Gang Leader’s office, West sat comfortably behind his large desk while Aria stood beside him, tablet in hand.
Across from them sat four professionally dressed visitors.
The logo embroidered on each of their suits belonged to one of the city’s largest dairy brands: Silver Crest Milk.
One of the men smiled warmly while speaking. "Mr. West Einstein, first of all, congratulations on Shadow Reapers’ recent accomplishments."
West nodded politely. "Thank you."
"We’ve been following your rise with great interest."
Another representative opened a presentation folder. "To be completely honest, your popularity has exploded."
"Our recent market surveys show that your recognition among younger audiences has increased dramatically."
