The captured creature’s words stayed in Drako’s mind. They will come for you too. For once, nobody had an immediate joke.

The Azunakkii warrior remained trapped inside the academy’s glowing restraints while senior instructors surrounded it.

Its damaged armor leaked violet blood, but its four eyes remained fixed on Drako. The headmaster stepped between them. “Take it to containment.”

Six guards moved forward. The creature laughed again. “Containment?” Violet markings spread across its chest. Teck’s scanner immediately screamed. “Energy spike!” Drako activated Dragon Blood Vision. Energy was gathering around the creature’s chest core faster than before.

“MOVE!” The guards jumped backward. The headmaster created a barrier around the prisoner as violet energy exploded from its body.

BOOM! The entire corridor shook. Drako covered his face with scaled arms. When the smoke cleared, the restraints were still there, but the creature wasn’t.

Only ash remained. Kaien stared at the empty chains. “Did it just kill itself?” Teck scanned the remains. “Yes.” Drako looked at him. “Could you sound slightly less excited?” “I’m not excited.” “You have your investigating face.” Adrian nodded. “He does have an investigating face.” Teck turned toward him.

“What does that even mean?” Adrian copied Teck’s expression perfectly. Ruben Veyrox laughed. Even Mira smiled slightly. Drako looked at Kaien. “See? Near-death experiences build friendships.” Kaien shook his head. “I’m reconsidering every decision that brought me here.”

The headmaster wasn’t laughing. “Everyone to the secure chamber. Now.” This time nobody argued. The black crystal left behind by the first creature had become the most important object inside Astra Academy.

The group followed several instructors through reinforced corridors into an underground command center separate from the ancient ruins. The crystal was placed inside a transparent containment box surrounded by scanners.

Teck practically glued himself to the readings. Adrian stood beside him. “Anything?” “Encrypted.” “Can you break it?” “Probably.” “How long?” Teck looked at him. “Longer if you keep asking questions.” Adrian stepped back. “Understood.” Three seconds passed. “How about now?” Teck slowly turned.

Drako laughed. “He’s going to murder you before the Azunakkii get the chance.” Adrian smiled. “Worth it.” Fade stood near the door, listening to everything. Mira remained beside Drako, still holding her mother’s pendant beneath her shirt. Ruben watched the crystal carefully. Kaien sat on a table despite an instructor repeatedly telling him not to.

The headmaster approached Drako. “The creature recognized both of your bloodlines.” Drako nodded. “That seems bad.” “It means your existence may already be known beyond Earth.” Drako’s smile disappeared.

“How?” “That is what we need to discover.” Drako thought about the first creature. It had called him Dragon and Vampire before anyone explained what he was. The second had called him Dragon-Vampire.

His System protected his abilities from being copied, but apparently it couldn’t prevent ancient enemies from recognizing his bloodline. “You know more about the Azunakkii than you’re telling us.” The headmaster remained silent. Drako crossed his arms.

“They just climbed into your school, tried destroying a message, recognized me, and committed suicide instead of being questioned. I think we’re past ‘students shouldn’t know.’” Kaien raised one finger from across the room. “I support Dragon Boy.” Drako looked at him. “Thank you, Flaming Chicken.” “Support withdrawn.” Ruben laughed.

The headmaster finally sighed. “The Azunakkii were one of humanity’s greatest enemies during the ancient war. But humanity didn’t fight alone. Dragons, Vampires, humans, and other civilizations formed alliances against them.” Mira looked toward Drako.

That matched his vision. “Why were the records erased?” she asked. The headmaster looked toward the crystal. “Because after the war, those alliances collapsed.

Humanity feared the races it had fought beside almost as much as the enemy itself. Powerful groups rewrote history to hide certain relationships.”

Fade’s hand tightened around his sword. “Including bloodlines.” The headmaster looked at him. “Yes.” Mira touched her pendant. Her expression changed. Drako noticed immediately.

Her family’s disappearance might be connected to the same purge. “So humanity won and then started fighting itself,” Drako said. “Humanity survived,” the headmaster corrected. “There is a difference.”

Teck suddenly spoke. “I’m in.” Everyone turned. Adrian looked offended. “Already?” “You distracted me efficiently.” “You’re welcome.” A holographic projection appeared above the crystal. Static filled the room before an image formed.

The dying four-armed creature appeared. This recording had been created before it reached Astra Academy. Behind it was a dark chamber filled with unfamiliar symbols. “If this message reaches a Dragon, Vampire, or human authority,” it began, “then I have successfully betrayed my command.”

Kaien whispered, “At least he’s honest.” Mira elbowed him. The recording continued. “My name is Vorakai. I served the Seventh Expedition of the Azunakkii Dominion. I no longer serve them.” Drako watched carefully. Vorakai looked stronger in the recording than when they encountered him.

“The Dominion has rediscovered evidence concerning the creature your civilizations named the Eternal Demon Beast. For generations, we believed it dead. We were wrong.”

A massive image appeared behind Vorakai. The creature itself wasn’t visible clearly. Only an enormous silhouette suspended inside something resembling a planet-sized structure. Even Kaien stopped joking.

“The Eternal Beast does not belong to the Azunakkii,” Vorakai continued. “It does not belong to humanity, Dragons, Vampires, or any single world. During the first war, civilizations fought because each believed controlling it would guarantee supremacy.

They were fools.” The hologram changed. Entire fleets disappeared inside a wave of black energy. “The creature cannot be controlled through ordinary means. Awakening it completely could destroy civilizations.” Drako’s System immediately reacted. [Historical information verified: Partial.] [Eternal Demon-Tier Beast.] [Additional information remains restricted.] Drako mentally complained. You’re watching the same recording I am. [Correct.] Drako almost laughed. His System could be incredibly powerful and incredibly annoying at the same time.

Vorakai continued. “The Dominion has begun searching multiple universes for the seals used during the ancient war. One has already been located.” Teck froze the recording. “Multiple universes?” The headmaster’s expression became grim. Ruben stepped closer. “So this isn’t just happening here.”

“No,” Fade said quietly. “It’s much bigger.” Teck resumed the message. “If the seals are gathered, the path to the Eternal Beast can be reopened. But another discovery has changed the Dominion’s plans.”

Vorakai looked directly into the recording device. “Ancient records describe a bloodline created near the end of the war. Dragon and Vampire united within one vessel.” Every person in the room slowly turned toward Drako. Drako looked around.

“Why is everyone looking at me?” Kaien stared at him. “Take a wild guess.” “Could be somebody else.” Teck answered immediately. “Statistically unlikely.” “Calculator, I swear.”

The recording continued. “The hybrid bloodline was believed extinct. The Dominion now believes it may have survived.” Drako’s humor vanished.

“Why do they care?” Vorakai answered as though responding directly. “Because the combined bloodline may interact with the seals.” Silence filled the chamber. Drako stared at the hologram.

His great-grandfather’s Dragon King bloodline and great-grandmother’s Vampire Queen bloodline suddenly felt connected to something far larger than personal inheritance. Vorakai continued. “If the hybrid exists, protect them. The Dominion will attempt capture before execution.

They need the blood alive.” Mira immediately stepped closer to Drako. Kaien stood from the table. Ruben’s relaxed expression disappeared. Fade turned his head toward Drako. Even Adrian stopped talking. Drako looked around at them.

“Okay. Everybody standing around me dramatically isn’t making this less creepy.” Kaien’s flames appeared. “Get used to it.” Drako smiled slightly. “Aw. You care.” “I want to beat you myself.” “Friendship.”

Vorakai’s recording began breaking apart. “One final warning. Not all Azunakkii support the Dominion. Some remember what the first war cost us.

Find the ones marked by the broken violet circle. They may help you.” A symbol appeared. Then Vorakai said something that made the headmaster step forward. “And do not trust every human Great Family. One of them already knows the Dominion has returned.” The recording ended.

Nobody spoke.

Ruben Veyrox stared at the empty hologram. His expression was different now. “One of the Great Families?” Mira looked at him. “Could be any of them.”

Ruben shook his head. “Or someone inside mine.” Teck closed his holographic screens. “Or mine.” Kaien’s flames faded. “Or Phoenix.” Drako looked between his friends.

This was exactly how enemies destroyed alliances: suspicion. “No.” Everyone looked at him. “We don’t start accusing each other’s families without evidence. That’s what whoever is hiding this would want.” Fade nodded. “Agreed.”

Teck suddenly reopened the final frame. “There’s embedded location data.” The headmaster stepped closer. “Where?” A star map appeared. One location blinked far beyond their current territory.

SEAL SITE: UNKNOWN WORLD.

Underneath appeared another message.

MULTIVERSE COORDINATES CONFIRMED.

Drako stared at it.

Kaien whistled. “That’s far.”

Drako smiled. “Good.”

Mira looked at him. “Why is that good?”

“Because I’m nowhere near strong enough to go there.”

Everyone stared at him.

Drako shrugged. “What? I’m learning.”

Fade smiled.

Ruben laughed.

Kaien shook his head. “Give him two weeks. He’ll try.”

Drako pointed at him. “Three.”

Their laughter returned, but the warning remained above them. Somewhere across the multiverse, the Azunakkii had restarted their search. Somewhere, a Great Family already knew.

And somehow, Drako’s dual bloodline was connected to the seals protecting the Eternal Demon-Tier Beast.

The war hadn’t begun yet.

But the first pieces were already moving.
