Episode 1 — The Awakening

Drako had spent most of his life being told that he was weak.

In a world where people were born with supernatural abilities and strength determined your place in society, being ordinary was almost the same as being invisible.

The powerful families controlled cities, the strongest warriors became legends, and the academies accepted only students with enough potential to survive.

Drako had never belonged to any of them. He had no famous family name, no powerful parents, and no awakened ability that made people look at him with respect.

What he did have was determination. For years, he had trained his body every morning and studied combat every night, even when everyone around him told him that he was wasting his time.

Today, he was finally going to Astra Academy. He had received his acceptance papers several weeks earlier, and he had promised himself that nothing would stop him from reaching those gates.

The road to the academy passed through a forest before reaching the city.

Drako walked with his backpack over one shoulder, his admission papers protected inside.

The morning air was cool, and sunlight passed through the trees.

He smiled when he saw the distant towers of Astra Academy. “I’m finally going to make it.”

A voice behind him interrupted his thoughts.

“Look who’s going to the academy.”

Drako stopped. He already knew that voice. Marcus. For years, Marcus had bullied him because Drako was weaker.

Four other boys stood behind him. Marcus walked closer with a smile.

“You really think you’re going to become an academy warrior?” Drako looked at him. “Move.” Marcus laughed.

“That’s how you’re talking now?” “I said move.” Marcus grabbed his shoulder.

Drako pushed his hand away. “Don’t touch me.” Marcus’s smile disappeared. “You’ve gotten brave.”

The first punch hit Drako in the jaw. He stumbled but stayed standing.

Another boy kicked his leg, and Drako fell to one knee. He tried to fight back, landing a punch on one of them, but another boy struck him from behind.

Marcus kicked him in the stomach. Drako fell into the dirt. “You should forget about Astra Academy,” Marcus said. “People like you don’t become warriors.”

Drako wiped blood from his mouth and slowly stood. “You don’t decide what I become.” Marcus punched him again. Drako fell.

Before Marcus could continue, a strange growl came from the forest. Everyone froze.

The birds stopped making noise. The wind seemed to disappear.

One of the boys looked toward the trees. “What was that?” Something moved between the branches.

Then it stepped into view. A beast. It was larger than any normal animal, with four powerful legs, dark scales covering its body, long claws, and glowing yellow eyes.

Its mouth opened, revealing rows of sharp teeth. One of the boys screamed. “BEAST!” The group scattered.

Drako tried to stand and run, but his injured leg gave out. The beast looked directly at him. His heart began pounding. “Come on…” The creature charged.

Drako threw himself sideways as its claws tore through the ground. He grabbed a broken branch and swung it at the beast’s head.

The branch shattered instantly. The creature barely reacted. Its tail slammed into Drako’s body and sent him flying into a tree.

Pain exploded through his back. He tried to stand. The beast charged again.

Drako moved, but a claw caught his side. Blood covered his shirt. He staggered backward and looked around desperately.

There was nowhere to go. The beast slowly approached. Drako thought about Astra Academy.

He thought about all the mornings he had spent training. He thought about every person who had told him he would never become anything. He wasn’t ready to die.

“I don’t want to die.” The beast raised its claw. Drako closed his eyes.

The claw came down. Then everything stopped. The forest became silent.

A translucent blue screen appeared in front of Drako. [Critical condition detected.] [Host survival probability: 0.3%.] [Emergency Survival Protocol activated.] Drako opened his eyes. “What?” Another message appeared. [Ancient bloodline signatures detected.] [Dragon Bloodline detected.] [Vampire Bloodline detected.] [Warning: Two incompatible ancient bloodlines detected.] [Emergency fusion recommended.] Drako stared at the strange screen.

“What is this?”

The beast attacked again. Suddenly, something exploded inside Drako’s body. Golden energy rushed through his veins.

A second energy followed, crimson and dark. His heart beat once. BOOM!

Energy exploded outward. Drako screamed as power flooded every part of his body. [Dragon Bloodline awakening.] [Vampire Bloodline awakening.] [Draconic Vampire System initializing.] Golden scales appeared across his forearms.

The beast’s claw struck him, but this time the attack didn’t cut through his skin.

Drako stared at his arm. [Ability unlocked: Dragon Scales.] “What is happening?” The beast attacked again.

Drako raised his arm and blocked. The impact pushed him backward, but he remained standing.

Then golden energy surrounded his fist. [Ability unlocked: Dragon Strength.] Drako didn’t understand it, but his body moved on instinct. He punched the beast.

BOOM!

The creature flew backward and crashed into a tree. Drako stared at his fist. “I did that?” The beast stood again and roared. Drako suddenly felt something strange.

He could hear its heartbeat. He could feel its muscles moving before it attacked. [Ability unlocked: Blood Sense.]

The beast lunged.

Drako moved before the attack reached him. He dodged to the side. The beast turned and attacked again.

Drako dodged again. Crimson energy suddenly flowed through his body. [Ability unlocked: Blood Enhancement.]

The wounds across his body began healing. His senses became sharper. His speed increased.

The beast charged one final time. Drako stood his ground.

Golden energy surrounded his right arm while crimson energy surrounded his left.

He didn’t know how to combine them, so he simply moved. He dodged the beast’s claws, punched its chest, and followed with another strike.

The creature crashed into a tree. It tried to stand. Drako charged and delivered one final blow. The beast collapsed.

Silence returned to the forest. Drako stood over it, breathing heavily. The System appeared again. [Beast defeated.] [Experience acquired.] [Emergency Survival Protocol complete.] [System fully activated.] [Welcome, Host.]

[You are the first compatible bearer of the Draconic Vampire System.]

Drako stared at the words.

“First compatible bearer?” The System continued.

[Your existence should not be possible.]

Drako looked down at his hands. The golden and crimson energy slowly disappeared.

He had no idea what had happened to him, but he knew that something had changed.

[Main Quest created.] [Become stronger.] [Discover the origin of the Dragon and Vampire bloodlines.] [Reach Level 100.]

Drako looked toward the road. Astra Academy was still waiting. He picked up his backpack and began walking. His body was exhausted, but his wounds were already healing.

Every step carried him closer to the place he had dreamed about for years.

He didn’t know that powerful families would eventually hunt him. He didn’t know that beasts stronger than anything he had ever seen would stand against him.

He didn’t know that his bloodlines were connected to secrets older than the academy itself. He didn’t know that two worlds would eventually become part of his destiny.

Right now, he only knew one thing. He had survived. And his old life was over.
