One person offered five hundred Copper Coins without knowing what the crop was.
Another offered Carlos a place in a super group that did not even exist yet.
Three people threatened him when he refused to reveal how he had grown it.
Carlos blocked all three after sending each of them a simple message.
"Fuck off."
A familiar name appeared at the top of his messages.
--
[Cosmic Merchant] - You dumb bitch. Why did you use your name?
[Carlos Goldwin] - Why would I hide it?
[Cosmic Merchant] - Now everyone has noticed you. And you already know most of them are bad, Carlos. Remember we were taught that? What part of that did you not understand??
[Carlos Goldwin] - Cosmic, if they noticed me, then it worked. Let’s see what happens xD
--
Cosmic took several seconds to respond.
--
[Cosmic Merchant] - Why? What will you do now that it worked?
[Carlos Goldwin] - It was bound to happen, Cosmic. I already entered using my real name. This was fast, but I assure you, my name will appear in many places from now on. Either I die to something too strong, or I survive and become stronger than most. I don’t have the privilege of stopping. I am a fucking farmer.
[Cosmic Merchant] - Ugh, you’re getting me motivated too. Just remember this: strangers can become enemies very quickly. Keep your image as clean as possible from now on.
[Carlos Goldwin] - I am not going to do anything bad. These strangers will soon become my customers because I need resources. Just wait.
--
The reply did not come immediately.
Carlos looked at the Tidal Silverwood.
He wanted his Agriculture Domain to become strong, but strength alone was not enough.
Farms produced things.
Those things needed people who wanted them.
If he hid every success, no one would know to approach him.
--
[Cosmic Merchant] - That sounded almost intelligent.
[Carlos Goldwin] - Almost?
[Cosmic Merchant] - The problem is that you announced the shop before building a wall around it.
[Carlos Goldwin] - No one can enter my territory right now.
[Cosmic Merchant] - Right now. The Beginner Period ends in thirty days.
--
Carlos’s smile became a little brighter.
Cosmic was right.
Reputation would bring opportunities, but it would also tell powerful Lords exactly where to look after the Beginner Period ended.
--
[Carlos Goldwin] - Then I have thirty days to become too expensive to attack.
[Cosmic Merchant] - That is not how danger works.
[Carlos Goldwin] - If someone does enter, it will mean free resources for me.
[Cosmic Merchant] - ...
[Carlos Goldwin] - : )
--
Carlos closed the chat before Cosmic could become any more arrogant.
He opened the achievement rewards.
--
[FIRST EPIC CULTIVATION Rewards]
Territory Experience x50
Copper Coins x100
Title: First Cultivator
Skill Book: Crop Appraisal
--
Carlos selected the title first.
--
First Cultivator
Unique Beginner Title
Awarded to the first Lord who cultivates an Epic-grade crop during a Beginner Period.
Effects:
Growth information is revealed when inspecting crops.
Seeds harvested from personally cultivated crops have a 5% higher chance of retaining special traits.
--
The effect was useful, but it did not directly make his crops stronger.
Carlos liked that.
It rewarded him without making every future plant automatically reach Epic grade.
He equipped the title and used the Skill Book.
[Skill learned: Crop Appraisal]
--
Crop Appraisal
Level 1
Allows the Lord to view basic growth conditions, health, and harvest information for cultivated plants.
Accuracy decreases when inspecting unfamiliar or highly magical crops.
--
Carlos looked at the Tidal Silverwood again.
"Appraise."
--
Tidal Silverwood Tree
Epic Grade
Growth Stage: Sapling
Health: Excellent
Water Requirement: Satisfied
Mana Requirement: Satisfied
Estimated First Harvest:
Tidal Silverwood x5-7
Silverwood Fruit x4-8
Chance of Water-affinity Fruit: 20%
--
Carlos focused on the first number.
Even the Epic tree would only give five to seven pieces of wood during one harvest.
Rare materials would not become unlimited simply because he owned the plant.
But unlike the tree from the Resource Hunt, this one would continue growing after a careful harvest. If handled properly, it could produce again.
"Rowan."
The Farmer came closer.
Carlos showed him the new growth information.
"Can we harvest the wood without killing the tree?"
Rowan examined the young branches and trunk.
"Not now. It is only a sapling. Once it matures, I can check which branches may be cut safely. I will not know how much its magical nature changes the process until then."
"Good. We wait."
Carlos looked at the territory experience.
--
Territory Experience: 65/100
--
The World Achievement had pushed him close to Level 2.
He needed thirty-five more experience to expand his territory and increase his authority.
Growing and harvesting crops had already given him experience. Constructing buildings might give more, but he lacked the materials for the Tool Workshop or Irrigation Channel.
For now, the wheat was his only stable path forward.
"How long until the second wheat harvest?" Carlos asked.
"Around twenty minutes," Rowan answered after checking the grain.
Blue had irrigated the plot with Mana Water, reducing the remaining time even further.
Carlos entered the Lord’s Hut and used some of the first harvest to prepare food.
There was no flour, so proper bread was impossible. He boiled the wheat in Mana Water until it became a thick porridge.
It had almost no flavour.
Rowan ate two bowls without complaining.
Blue entered one bowl and absorbed the water, leaving the dry wheat behind.
One consumed two Slime Cores inside its barracks.
It was not a great first meal.
But no one in the territory was hungry anymore.
[Territory residents have consumed their first produced meal]
[Territory Experience x5]
--
Territory Experience: 70/100
--
Carlos looked at the remaining wheat.
Food was not merely necessary for survival. Producing and consuming it pushed the territory forward.
Carlos was checking the wheat when Cosmic sent him another private message.
--
[Cosmic Merchant] - Are you busy?
[Carlos Goldwin] - Yes.
[Cosmic Merchant] - Good. This is important.
[Carlos Goldwin] - That is not how being busy works, you fucker.
[Cosmic Merchant] - Open the Trade section.
