[Cosmic Merchant] - After the Resource Hunt. You were too busy becoming world-famous to notice.
[Carlos Goldwin] - What is the important part?
[Cosmic Merchant] - Make trade requests for seeds.

Carlos looked toward the two plots.
Common Wheat covered one. The Tidal Silverwood sapling occupied a corner of the other, while the Bloodroot had been planted a safe distance away.

[Carlos Goldwin] - I already have seeds.
[Cosmic Merchant] - You have Wheat and one tree. That isn’t enough for an Agriculture Lord.
[Carlos Goldwin] - I need to see what kinds of seeds I want first...
[Cosmic Merchant] - Get anything. Most Lords received random resources from the Resource Hunt and their starting chests. Military Lords don’t have farmland. Why would they keep seeds they cannot grow?

Carlos fell silent.
Cosmic continued.

[Cosmic Merchant] - To them, a seed is a useless inventory item. To you, it can become a resource that produces even more resources.
[Cosmic Merchant] - Buy them before everyone understands that. Some Military Lords may eventually realize they need to trade for farmland or food production. You need to become a supplier before that happens.

Carlos looked at the Tidal Silverwood.
One Rare seed had already become the most valuable thing in his territory.
There was no guarantee that every seed would do the same, but Cosmic’s logic was right. Seeds were worth more to Carlos than they were to almost any other Lord.

[Carlos Goldwin] - What should I offer?
[Cosmic Merchant] - Copper for unknown seeds. Wheat for Common seeds. More valuable resources only after you inspect what they are.
[Carlos Goldwin] - You have thought a lot about this.
[Cosmic Merchant] - I told you what I am going to become. And you, sir, give me the feeling that you are going to obtain a lot of valuable things.
[Carlos Goldwin] - Heh.

Carlos smiled.
Cosmic had a Military Domain, but his mind was always searching for a trade.
Becoming a merchant in a world where danger was the same for everyone came with risks, and Carlos knew what Cosmic was getting himself into.
Even though Carlos liked danger himself, he did not feel the same way when it came to his friends and family.

[Cosmic Merchant] - You grow them. I find buyers for whatever they produce.
[Carlos Goldwin] - And your share?
[Cosmic Merchant] - Ten percent of any trade I arrange.
[Carlos Goldwin] - Alright.
[Cosmic Merchant] - No negotiation? Damn, I feel sorry for you. Fine, special deal. I will handle the messages for you too.

Carlos shook his head and created his first public request.

He confirmed it.
The request entered the Trade section and disappeared among hundreds of others.
For ten seconds, nothing happened.
Then notifications started appearing.

[Normal Seed x1 obtained]
Carlos stopped the request after the third trade.
"That was fast."
He took out the first seed.
It was small and brown, with no system name beyond Unknown Seed.
"Rowan."
The Farmer came over and accepted it.
He turned the seed between his fingers and pressed its shell.
"Do you know what it is?" Carlos asked.
"No."
"Can it grow?"
Rowan checked it again.
"The shell is firm, and there is no rot. It may still be alive, but planting it is the only way I can be certain."
Carlos used Crop Appraisal.

In exchange, he lost fifteen Wheat.
The Uncommon request took longer.
After several minutes, the first acceptance appeared.

"Such a small amount of money for so many seeds... They really don’t value things that might give them something better in the long term."
Carlos chuckled.
"Well, I can’t blame them. Survival is more important."
But when he looked at the two plots, a new problem became obvious.
