My Farming Domain Is Broken
Chapter 36. The Price of Development: Multiplied Difficulty [BONUS CH]Carlos stood at the northern edge with One.
Brann waited in the west and the territory became silent than usual.

[FIRST TERRITORY RAID HAS BEGUN]
Red lights appeared beyond every edge of the territory.
[Raid strength adjusted for Level 2 territory]
[High development value detected]
[Raid size increased]
[Wave 1]
[Razorback Boars x20]
Carlos watched twenty large shapes form around the fields.
When the shape of the boar formed, each of them lowered their tusks and charged.
The ground quaked in a random manner as if an army or horde was approaching them.
Carlos counted five coming from the north.
"North!" Carlos shouted, giving the first warning signal.
Six charged Brann from the west.
The remaining nine came from the south and east, directly toward the fields and buildings.
"One, left!"
The Blue Water Slime fired.
Water Shot struck the closest boar across one eye.
It turned its head and missed the narrow opening Carlos had left between two barriers.
The boar crashed through the wood and both barriers shattered right away.
Carlos’s expression changed to a frown.
"Those were supposed to slow them down."
The other four continued forward.
He lowered his Reinforced Long Spear.
The first boar reached him.
Carlos stepped away from its tusks and thrust beneath its front leg.
The iron spearhead entered deep into its chest.
The boar’s weight ripped the weapon from his hands.
It continued running for several steps with the spear inside it before falling.
[Razorback Boar eliminated]
Carlos summoned an Iron Spear from the Tool Workshop inventory.
It was not as strong as his reinforced weapon, but he had produced two while preparing for the raid.
One fired again.
The shot hit the second boar’s front legs and made it stumble.
Carlos jumped onto its back.
He placed the iron spear behind its head and drove it down with both hands.
[Razorback Boar eliminated]
The third struck him from the side.
Its tusk scraped across the Ironweave Battle Coat instead of entering his stomach.
Carlos was thrown across the ground.

The Rare coat had taken most of the damage.
Carlos rolled onto his feet and saw one of the boars run past him.
It was heading toward the Common Farmland.
"NO!"
Carlos chased it.
His Wolfhide Boots closed the distance, but the boar reached the edge of the field first.
Suddenly, Blue appeared above the wheat and the sprite lifted both arms.
Water rose from the shallow trench and struck the boar’s face. It was not strong enough to stop the creature. But the water covered the dry ground.
The boar’s front legs entered the mud and slipped.
Its whole body fell sideways before reaching the first row of wheat.
Carlos caught up and drove the Iron Spear into its throat.
[Razorback Boar eliminated]
"Good work, Blue!"
"Bloo!"
One bounced toward them.
Two boars remained on the northern side.
Carlos looked west before attacking.
Brann stood alone in front of six. He was slow with his movements but Carlos could feel it, there was abnormal level of strength in each of his attacks.
The Bearkin did not move away.
He placed both hands on his wooden hammer when the first Razorback Boar charged.
Brann swung and the hammer struck the boar’s head.
A sound like breaking stone spread across the territory.
The boar’s whole body turned sideways and crashed into the one beside it.
[Razorback Boar eliminated]
Brann roared.
The sound shook the air.
[Brann has used Threatening Roar]
Almost every boar changed direction.
The two in front of Carlos stopped and turned west.
The creatures approaching from the south and east also looked toward the Bearkin.
"Brann!"
The Guardian had pulled the attention of fourteen boars toward himself.
"COME!" Brann shouted.
And they came.
The Bearkin entered Defensive Stance. His feet sank into the soil and a dull brown light covered his fur.
Three boars struck him almost together.
Brann moved backward one step and brought the hammer down on the closest animal’s spine.
[Razorback Boar eliminated]
Another boar’s tusk entered the side of his leather armor.
Brann grabbed the creature by one ear and threw it into the others.
Carlos started running west to help the big guy.
"One, shoot anything behind him!"
Water Shot struck a boar trying to attack Brann’s back.
Carlos reached it and stabbed through its side.
[Razorback Boar eliminated]
The raid had become a pile of fur, tusks and moving bodies.
Brann’s hammer rose and fell.
Every strike broke bone.
But even the Bearkin could not block everything.
One tusk cut his arm. Another entered his thigh. His Defensive Stance stopped him from falling, but his health continued decreasing.

Brann HP- 403/550

Carlos moved beside him.
"I take the right."
Brann grunted.
That was enough.
Carlos recovered his Reinforced Long Spear from the first boar and attacked.
One blinded the creatures before they reached him. Carlos moved around every charge and targeted the neck, eyes or the softer flesh beneath their front legs.
Brann did not avoid them. He stood in the middle and stopped each boar through force. Their fighting styles were completely different. But they still worked together fine.

The number of moving creatures fell quickly.
Then Carlos heard Mira shout.
"Rowan, move!"
One Razorback Boar had resisted Brann’s Roar.
It had entered the territory from the south and broken through the barrier beside the kitchen.
Rowan stood between it and the wheat with nothing but a hoe.
Mira ran from the kitchen.
She held the Common Shield with both hands.
"Mira, don’t block it!" Carlos shouted.
The boar charged her.
Mira did not try to stop it directly.
She threw the shield into its path and moved aside.
The boar struck the shield and lowered its head further.
Mira jumped onto its side.
She grabbed its rough hair with one hand and drove a kitchen knife behind its ear.
The blade entered, but the boar did not fall.
It shook its whole body and Mira was thrown into the side of the kitchen. Carlos’s chest tightened. She was the only cook he had.
He left Brann and sprinted across the territory.
The boar turned toward Mira again.
She tried to stand but her left leg failed.
Blue struck the boar with water but as if the boar was fixated on Mira and the kill, it completely ignored the Sprite.
Carlos summoned his second Iron Spear from the inventory and threw it.
The weapon missed the boar’s head and entered its back.
The creature turned toward Carlos with a squeak and that was all he wanted.
"COME HERE!"
The boar didn’t wait for him to scream and had already started charging toward Carlos.
Carlos held his Reinforced Long Spear with both hands.
He waited until the boar came close enough to see the blood around its mouth.
Then he moved and thrust through the wound Mira’s knife had made.
The spear entered the boar’s head.
[Razorback Boar eliminated]
Carlos let go of the weapon and hurried toward Mira.
"Are you hurt?"
Mira sat against the kitchen wall and touched her ankle.
"I think I twisted it."
"Why did you run at it?"
"It was going toward Rowan and the field."
Her voice was still cheerful, but weaker than before.
Carlos crouched and checked her health.

Mira HP- 112/140
Status: Sprained ankle

She was not in danger.
Carlos released a breath he had not realized he was holding.
Mira looked at his face and smiled.
"You came quickly."
"Stay here. The wave isn’t over."
"I will."
Carlos gave her a Minor Recovery Potion and returned to Brann.
Only four boars remained.
One had fallen into the water trench and could not stand. One and Blue attacked it together while Rowan remained safely behind them.
Brann fought the other three and Carlos joined him. Brann was the only guy he could fully trust could fight alone at this point.
Less than a minute later, the final hammer strike crushed the last boar’s head.
[Razorback Boar eliminated]
[Wave 1 completed]
[Territory Integrity: 96%]
[Crop Damage: 0%]
[Building Damage: 2%]
[Resident Casualties: 0]
Carlos looked across the territory.
Broken barriers covered the ground. The side of the kitchen had cracked where Mira struck it, but every crop remained standing.
Twenty boar bodies had not disappeared.
Mira looked at them from beside the kitchen.
"That is a lot of meat," she said.
Carlos smiled.
Even injured, she was thinking about the kitchen.
[Raid rewards will be calculated after all waves are completed]
[Next wave in 10 minutes]
[Wave 2 information]
[Ironbeak Locusts x300]
[Wave Objective: Protect all cultivated fields]
Carlos looked at his spear.
Then he looked at the cloud of black shapes forming beyond the territory.
"How am I supposed to stab three hundred insects?"
Carlos looked at Rowan.
Rowan was already staring at the dark cloud beyond the territory, his mouth agape with fear.
A farmer’s worst enemy had approached them.
