My Farming Domain Is Broken

Chapter 61. Brothers Reunited

"Bro..."

Cosmic spoke but he didn’t move toward Carlos right away. His eyes went behind him and widened a little.

Kaia was standing there with her armor and sword. Brann was beside her and was bigger than every troop in their surroundings. Nessa had her bow in hand while One stayed near Carlos’s feet.

Cosmic looked at all four of them one by one.

His two Lizardmen were standing behind him too but they were of the same type and came from the same barrack. Carlos had somehow brought four completely different troops with him.

He wasn’t the only one who noticed.

There were hundreds of Lords on the stone road and almost all of them only had one troop with them. There were a few Lords who had two, but even their troops were the same and they were far away from each other.

Carlos couldn’t see anyone else with more than two.

The nearby Lords started looking at Brann first before looking at Kaia, Nessa and One. Some even counted them twice as if they had seen it wrong the first time.

But Carlos didn’t care about that right now. Cosmic’s eyes finally moved toward him properly and stayed there.

Carlos had read the word ’Bro’ countless times in their messages, but hearing it from his mouth was completely different.

For a moment, both of them just stared at each other.

Cosmic had leather armor on his body and a short sword on his waist. There were some cuts on his arms too. He still looked like the same person Carlos knew from Earth but it was obvious that the days here hadn’t been easy for him.

Cosmic was looking at him in the same way. The Ironweave Battle Coat covered most of Carlos’s body, but the scars near his neck and the Warden Chain around his arm were still visible.

Both of them moved at the same time.

Cosmic quickly closed the distance and pulled Carlos into a hug.

"You crazy bastard."

The spear got stuck between them and Carlos quickly let it fall on the road before hugging his best friend back.

Carlos hadn’t realized how much he wanted this.

They had been talking through messages almost every day. They traded, argued and warned each other too, but it was still just a screen.

Now Cosmic was actually here.

Carlos could feel his arms around him and that was enough to finally make him believe that his best friend was safe.

"I told you we will be alive for a long long time," Cosmic whispered.

"Heh, I remember bro."

Carlos laughed but his voice came out strange. Cosmic moved back and looked at his face before hugging him one more time.

"I thought you were dead when your messages stopped during that Warden attack. Do you even know how long that hour felt?"

"I was a little busy."

"You were being strangled by a monster inside your own territory!"

"Nothing I couldn’t handle, man."

Cosmic pushed him back and started checking his shoulders and arms for injuries.

"You need to tell me everything that happened, bro."

"I will tell you later. We have company all around right now."

Carlos looked around once. Some Lords were happily meeting people they knew while others were crying after seeing their friends alive. Some were crying because the people they were waiting for had never come.

Carlos looked at the two Lizardmen behind Cosmic. Old wounds had left lines over their green scales but both of them were standing properly.

"They made it," Carlos spoke with relief.

Cosmic turned toward them and nodded.

"They did. It took almost everything I had at that time, but they recovered. These idiots refused to rest no matter how much I told them."

One Lizardman lowered his head a little while the other looked away.

Carlos inspected both of them for a few seconds before nodding.

"Good."

"What about you? And don’t give me the same answer you send in messages. Are you actually okay?"

Carlos looked at the chain wrapped around his arm. It moved a little with his thoughts and both Lizardmen quickly raised their weapons.

"I am alive, my territory is safe and everyone I brought here is healthy. That is enough for now."

"That is still very vague but okay..."

Cosmic stared at him before hitting his shoulder once, making sure it wasn’t close to any wound.

"I missed you, man."

Carlos smiled to that.

"I missed you too."

Kaia, Nessa and Brann were looking at their Lord in surprise. Even One had stopped moving from its place.

They had seen Carlos fight even when his body couldn’t move properly. They had seen him work without resting too, but they had never seen him act like this with anyone.

Nessa had a smile on her face while Kaia looked happy for him too.

Brann looked between Carlos and Cosmic a few times.

"Lord’s brother."

Cosmic blinked and finally gave the Bearkin a proper look.

"Not by blood, but close enough."

"Act like brothers. So brothers" Brann decided.

"I can accept that."

Carlos introduced Kaia, Brann and Nessa before pointing at the slime near his feet.

"And that is One."

Cosmic waited for a few seconds as if there was supposed to be more.

"You actually named your first slime One? I thought you were joking."

"There is also Two."

"Of course there is..."

Carlos grinned and then introduced himself to the two Lizardmen too. Cosmic had still not given them names but both had been protecting him from the start.

When Carlos looked around again, more people were staring at his group.

The stone road went farther than he could see. There were silver pillars on both sides, red grass fields past them and black hills very far away. The sky itself was green and made the whole place look completely different from Earth.

Lights were still appearing on the road as more Lords entered.

Most had one troop. The rare ones with two got some attention but it was nothing compared to the empty space that had formed around Carlos and his four troops.

"Now this looks like a proper exploration event," Cosmic spoke while looking around.

"Try exploring before you start selling things, idiot."

"We can do both."

A nearby Lord heard Cosmic say Carlos’s name and quickly opened her ranking panel.

Her eyes widened as she looked between the panel and Carlos.

"Carlos Goldwin?"

More Lords turned toward him. Someone standing farther down the road checked the rankings too and shouted before Carlos could move away.

"That’s the first Level 3 Lord!"
