My Girlfriend Is a Demon Queen

Chapter 26: Let’s go, Papa, let’s go."

"Sorry, sorry, sorry..."

Poor Himanshu was trying his absolute best from behind to keep the Demon from getting angry. The Demon’s red eyes were locked onto him, as if she was going to deal with him the second they were alone. Her terrifying aura made it crystal clear that Himanshu wasn’t going to survive tonight.

"You’re going to stay right here from today." Saying this, Mom let go of her.

Himanshu finally breathed a sigh of relief. At least in front of Mom, this 8000-year-old walking disaster wouldn’t cause a scene. The Demon, as usual, was looking at them with zero emotion on her face, using that same cold and careless gaze.

"What happened? Why are you so quiet?" Mom suddenly asked.

Right then, a weird, creepy silence filled the entire room.

"Himanshu, did you say something to her?"

Seeing those anger-filled eyes, Himanshu took a step back. A line of fear stretched across his face. Trying to save his life, he quickly threw both his hands up in a panic.

"I-I didn’t say anything! She... she’s just always like this."

Turning around, Mom lovingly patted the Demon’s head. And then, giving a smile, she said,

"If he says anything to you, just tell me."

Saying this, Mom turned her neck and glared at Himanshu again.

"I’ll deal with him."

Gathering himself, Himanshu gave a smile that was honestly hard to explain. It looked like he was laughing and crying at the exact same time. His face was completely scrunched up.

A little while later, Mom said "Goodnight" and went into her room.

The moment the door clicked shut, the vibe of the room changed in a single second. The Demon clenched her fists. A faint cracking sound of bones echoed from her fingers.

Seeing this, Himanshu started stepping back. He nervously showed his teeth, trying to pull off an awkward laugh.

And the exact moment the Demon took a step towards him...

Himanshu screamed in his mind, ’Run Himanshu, RUN!’

Without looking anywhere, he pumped his arms and legs so fast like it was some death race. And as soon as he saw the main door, his face filled with relief. ’I survived!’

But the very next second, he realized something else. He wasn’t moving forward even a single inch.

"W-why am I not moving?"

He tried to run again, kicking his legs in the air. And tried again. And that’s when he realized.

The Demon had grabbed onto his pants tightly from behind.

Himanshu slowly turned around. Now he had a pretty good idea of what was going to happen to him next. Even then, keeping that fake smile on his face, he tried to laugh and bowed his head, silently trying to beg for mercy.

Just then, letting out an angry hiss, the Demon planted a solid punch right on his eye.

"Aaahh!"

"That hit so hard!"

Holding his swelling eye, Himanshu groaned in pain. He muttered under his breath in a super low voice, "I should have just left you there... you literal rock."

Getting annoyed, the Demon tightened her fist even more and said,

"What were you telling your Aunt? That I proposed to you?"

Hearing this, Himanshu froze for a second. All his anger vanished into thin air. And then, ’feeling’ his pain again, he started hopping around loudly. He thought that maybe, just maybe, the Demon would pity him after seeing this drama.

But his misunderstanding was shattered the very next moment.

The Demon suddenly yanked his arm back, pinned him against the wall, and started twisting it brutally.

"Sorry, sorry, sorry!" Himanshu yelled, squirming in pain. "That... that just slipped out in the flow! I thought you wouldn’t know what propose meant!"

Twisting his arm even tighter, putting pressure on his bones, the Demon said,

"Do you think I’m an idiot? That a girl wouldn’t know what propose means?"

Her grip was so tight that Himanshu felt like his arm was going to pop out of its socket today.

Right then, Mom’s voice came from the room.

"What happened? Did something happen out there?"

That voice felt like the call of an angel.

"No, Mom!"

"Nothing happened!" The words rushed out of Himanshu’s mouth quickly, so the Demon wouldn’t get another chance to take her anger out.

Looking back, the Demon let go of Himanshu’s arm in a flash.

"Alright. Turn off the house lights," Mom called out from inside.

"Yeah."

Saying this, Himanshu looked at the Demon.

The Demon glared at him with her fierce red eyes and just walked away.

’Is that it?’

Massaging his shoulder with his hand, Himanshu watched the Demon leave. He thought in his mind,

’Wait, did she stop because of Mom?’

If that was true, then nothing could be better than this. It meant Mom was his only protective shield in this house.

Bringing fake tears to his eyes, Himanshu thought of his mom.

’Thank you Mom, thank you so much.’

Saying this, Himanshu dragged his broken, tired-from-getting-beaten body all the way to his room.

And the moment he laid eyes on his soft bed, a sparkle came into his eyes. Without a second thought, he dove straight onto it.

"Oh! My sweet, soft bed, I missed you so much."

He spread his arms and legs all over the bed, hugged the pillow tightly to his chest, and started taking deep breaths.

The mental stress of the whole day, the terror, and on top of that, the Demon’s brutal beating had sucked all the energy out of his body. The exhaustion was so heavy that he didn’t even realize when he fell asleep.

He slowly started getting lost in his dream world. Everything that happened to him today slowly started playing out in his dreams. But this time, it was a little different. In this dream, he was acting like a boss. Folding his arms across his chest just like the Demon, making a strict face, he was just walking ahead. And right behind him, the Demon was carrying his favorite Manga collection and shopping bags in both her hands, walking behind him with her head slightly bowed. Exactly like an obedient maid.

And then, Himanshu heard the sound of the Demon tripping behind him.

He turned around with an attitude-filled, angry look.

"Can’t you walk prop—"

He was just about to say that when his eyes shot wide open.

He saw that the Demon wasn’t holding any Manga or shopping bags in her arms anymore. She was holding a very cute little girl in her arms. The girl was looking at him and smiling. She had tiny Demon-like horns on her head, which she was trying to hide with her hair.

And then Himanshu’s gaze went to the Demon. Her eyes held a weird shine for Himanshu—a shine of love and affection. The expressions on her face were just like a normal human experiencing a moment of true happiness.

And right then, someone tugged at his hand.

He quickly looked down.

"Let’s go, Papa, let’s go."

A cute four or five-year-old boy, wearing an outfit exactly like his. He was holding onto his finger. He had those same tiny horns on his head too. He was pointing one of his little fingers up.

"I want to eat ice cream."

Hearing the word ’Papa’ and seeing those little horns, Himanshu was just about to break out in a cold sweat when...

Suddenly, Himanshu felt a sharp, violent pain in his back.

He instinctively grabbed his back.

"I’m dead!"

And the second he screamed, his eyes flew open. The dream was shattered.

He saw that his body wasn’t on that soft bed anymore. He was lying flat on his back on the cold floor.

The terrible pain in his back explained everything.

Either he had fallen off the bed... or someone had intentionally thrown him down in the night.
