Everyone in the room fell completely silent for a long moment. Even Helen, despite being usually loud and unnecessarily untimely in this kind of situation, kept her mouth shut in an unusual manner.

She remained very still in her spot, staring intently at Ivis with wide eyes full of pure expectation.

Helen knew beforehand that Ivis was incredibly strong and superior in direct combat. She had experienced it with her own body by being defeated very easily on two occasions.

That harsh experience against Ivis’s overwhelming power forced her to pay complete attention to what the woman was about to reveal in front of them.

’So she will say something as important as how her power works in front of all of us, huh?’ Ryan thought to himself, maintaining his usual serious expression.

He didn’t see this act as a simple display of strength to intimidate them. He took it directly as the firm determination of someone who finally trusts her new allies.

Ivis looked at everyone and furrowed her brow slightly upon noticing the enormous tension in the atmosphere. They all displayed an absolute and almost respectful silence, something that wasn’t at all usual for Ryan’s always problematic and scandalous party.

So, with a gesture of clear resignation, Ivis let out a long sigh followed by taking a firm step forward.

"Well, you all know perfectly well that my elemental manifestation is water," Ivis began to explain with a highly calm and direct tone of voice.

"But my power is not limited solely to creating destructive water attacks in the middle of a battle. There are many other ways to take advantage of those skills."

Then, Ivis demonstrated her words with complete tranquility. From the arms she still had crossed under her chest, she slowly raised her right arm and extended her index finger upward.

A small and bright ball of water became visible out of nowhere, floating right above the tip of her finger with perfect magical stability.

The water sphere was as small as a common glass marble. However, it was spinning on itself incredibly fast, emitting a very low buzz that barely managed to tear through the silence of the sky dungeon.

It looked like a very basic magical demonstration lacking any real threat. Seeing this, Helen couldn’t contain her disappointment and took a quick step forward.

"Is that it?" Helen asked, letting out a clear voice of uncertainty and confusion at the tiny display of elemental power.

"Keep quiet and watch closely." Ryan intervened immediately, cutting off the warrior’s complaint with an indisputable commanding tone.

Helen closed her mouth instantly upon hearing the cold order. She looked at Ryan for a brief moment, feeling reprimanded, and then turned her face back toward Ivis.

Helen narrowed her eyes, trying her best to observe Ivis’s raised finger in much more detail.

"Threads?" Helen asked herself in a barely audible murmur, opening her eyes in surprise upon noticing the real trick.

They were almost invisible to the naked eye because of how incredibly thin they were, but without a doubt, there they were floating in the air.

There were dozens of small and fine water threads extending directly from the small spinning sphere located above Ivis’s finger.

And those thin threads seemed to be scattered all over the immense area of the dungeon. Some extended almost at ground level across the wide one hundredth floor, moving slowly.

And then, those water lines were lost from sight heading toward the stairs leading down to the ninety-ninth floor.

"I see... that was what it was about all this time, I must say it is truly surprising." Ryan said upon realizing how the foundation of that strange skill worked.

He swept his gaze across the room and observed how another dense network of threads seemed to pass through the magical light of the portal without any kind of resistance.

Ivis nodded her head, silently confirming her ally’s quick analytical deduction. She looked at him with a small smile appearing on her lips.

"This is my true elemental control." Ivis added with pride, and with a simple thought, she dissipated her energy. The ball and the water threads disappeared, and she returned to her previous posture with her arms crossed.

"Wow, I didn’t expect someone with your brute strength to be capable of something this delicate..." Ryan added, genuinely impressed by the level of microscopic manipulation Ivis had just demonstrated in front of them.

But Mirian and Irina didn’t seem to understand anything at first glance. Both girls were looking with extreme attention at the empty space where the water sphere used to be, furrowing their brows and trying to understand the point of the demonstration.

Neither of them managed to connect the existence of those threads with the hearing capability Ivis was boasting about.

Helen turned slowly upon seeing her two companions looking as confused as she was. Realizing that the only one who seemed to have understood Ivis’s complex power was Ryan, the black-haired warrior began to feel somewhat foolish.

She began to look at everyone in a strange and hesitant manner. First she looked at Ivis, then returned her nervous gaze to Ryan, and finally looked back at her teammates.

Then, swallowing her usual pride and with a noticeable blush of embarrassment spreading across her pale cheeks, Helen decided to speak for the group.

"Sorry... but the truth is I didn’t understand any of that." Helen commented in a low voice. "How does that skill really work? What do those small water threads have to do with the fact that you heard us from inside the portal?"

"I don’t get it either... I can’t understand how you hear voices through the portal’s magical barrier using simple water threads." Mirian intervened immediately.

Irina also nodded her head repeatedly, supporting the doubts of the other two girls. The elf princess crossed her hands in front of her body, making her enormous confusion perfectly clear given the abstract visual explanation Ivis had provided them.

Ryan let out a long sigh. He brought a hand to his chin, taking a thoughtful posture as he tried to find the most appropriate and simple words.

"So you can understand it in a simple way, those fine water threads you just saw are somehow directly connected to Ivis’s senses."

Ryan explained with great patience, looking at the three girls.

"If I had to explain it with a lot more physical details so it becomes clear... I would say she uses the natural humidity that is always present in the environment to create a sensory field around herself."

Ryan continued with a firm voice. "That network of humidity allows her to feel vibrations and hear with total clarity everything that is close to those extended water threads. Isn’t that right, Ivis?"
