The immense army of elves and sturdy beastmen warriors continued to fly high in the open sky.

There were hundreds of soldiers suspended in the air thanks to their group’s support magic, maintaining a strict formation and patiently waiting for their leader’s definitive instructions.

The sound of the wind whistling through armor and weapons was the only thing breaking the tense silence of the military march toward war.

...

Ivis did not immediately respond to the sudden question Ryan had thrown at her in the middle of the flight.

The imposing dragon woman observed him in complete, heavy silence for a few long seconds, narrowing her cold eyes with vertical pupils.

"Why? Are you worried about me?" she finally replied, crossing her arms in a clearly defensive posture and raising her chin with superiority. "Do not be arrogant, human."

Ryan let out a long, heavy sigh upon hearing her proud and distant tone.

He quickly realized that whether he worried about her or not would make no real difference in the outcome of the impending war.

Dragons were creatures far too stubborn, ancient, and proud to accept pity or genuine concern from the mortals surrounding them.

Yet, Ryan pointed out something very important that had been spinning in his analytical mind for days.

A tactical deduction that arose the precise moment Ivis told him the true details of how her strange defensive ability worked.

"I assume that the fire dragon and the wind dragon, even if they themselves do not know it... can counter your ability without much effort in combat," Ryan began to say in a calm voice, maintaining his steady flight alongside her.

Ivis immediately frowned, showing sudden surprise on her beautiful face upon hearing his accurate words.

"Human... did you discover the hidden weakness of my magic interruption technique so easily?" she asked, unable to hide her astonishment at her ally’s sharp intelligence.

"Well, there really is not much to think about or analyze once you know how the simple humidity trick works," Ryan replied, completely downplaying his own brilliant analysis.

"If I had kept thinking that you used anti-magic, I definitely would not have reached this conclusion so soon."

Ryan raised his right hand’s index finger, pointing to the cold wind around them to illustrate his point.

"All it takes is to sweep away the ambient humidity using strong, continuous gusts of air, or evaporate it completely using a lot of fire."

Ryan lowered his hand and stared straight into her eyes, making it very clear that he perfectly understood the exact mechanics of her power.

"That is why I assume a fire dragon like Irnina, and Lise with her wind control, are your counter."

Ivis turned around in the air with a swift and rather abrupt movement, immediately turning her back to the boy.

"How annoying you are sometimes," the dragon woman complained, her immense pride wounded at being figured out by a human’s simple logic.

"Even if it is as you say, I do not rely solely on that trick. I am very strong on my own."

Ivis looked over her shoulder, baring her fangs in a smile full of terrifying confidence.

"So stop worrying about useless nonsense right now. I will not let Lise intervene in the fight under any circumstances, I assure you."

After finishing those words full of determination, she flapped her wings with great force.

Ivis generated a strong gust of air and quickly moved away from Ryan, taking the lead in the aerial formation without another word.

’I think I made her angry with my comment,’ Ryan thought to himself, watching as the dragon woman distanced herself in the sky.

’Well, the truth is that does not matter right now,’ he continued to reflect very coldly.

’If she is fully aware of her own limitations and weaknesses, then I only need to focus on my own goal and trust her strength.’

But on the other hand, another major concern remained latent in his mind as a leader while they flew toward the unknown.

’The girls in my group will face an SS-rank dragon alone.’

Ryan glanced at the brave heroines riding the swift wyverns around him, noticing their firm concentration.

’And that will be a dangerous task for them, even if Ivis claimed earlier that that earth dragon is very weak compared to the rest of its species...’

"Is something wrong, Ryan?" Beatrice said suddenly, noticing her king’s heavy, dark gaze.

The beautiful and lethal spy cut off the leader’s deep thoughts, approaching gracefully and floating right beside him in the air.

"No, it is nothing to worry about, let us pick up the pace," Ryan replied, shaking his head and returning to his vital role as supreme commander of the troops.

He extended his right hand backward and used his system skill to transfer an immense amount of energy directly.

Ryan boosted Karol’s magical abilities, filling the mage’s body with overwhelming and ridiculously dense mana.

And in doing so, the blue-haired mage smiled with excitement upon feeling the power, and drastically accelerated the flight capabilities of each of the hundreds of soldiers present.

The entire army shot forward like a massive, lethal glowing arrow crossing the blue sky.

Then, following the exact route traced on the maps Alicia had studied, everyone headed straight toward their first key destination in this war.

They flew at full speed toward the ancient transport portal hidden in the depths beneath the water surrounding the elves’ forest.

That was the magical shortcut to instantly cross over to the freezing and dangerous lands of the north.

Everyone entered the water like fast bullets, diving without fear and crossing the magical portal’s rippling light without breaking their perfect flight formation at any moment.

The dimensional transition lasted a blink of an eye, but the change in climate was so sudden and brutal that the air froze the soldiers’ breath in a matter of a single second.

As they finally emerged on the other side and arrived in the far snowy lands, the biting icy wind struck their bodies and their new white suits with force.

Ivis suddenly stopped in the cloudy air, closed her eyes for a long moment, and used her advanced magical perception skills to scan the infinite white terrain.
