The Prada campaign was supposed to be simple. It was a one-day photoshoot built around a romantic concept featuring Chris St. Claire and Liliana Sterling.

After the overwhelming success of their Gucci campaign, Prada had specifically requested the pair, with the creative director insisting that no other couple looked as natural together.

Everything had been prepared weeks in advance—the studio, the wardrobe, the storyboard, and even the media announcements promoting another campaign starring the country’s most talked-about pair.

Then everything changed.

Robin hurried into Matthew St. Claire’s office carrying two tablets, his usually composed expression replaced by concern.

"We have a problem."

Matthew immediately looked up.

"What happened?"

Robin placed the schedules on the desk.

"The charity concert."

Matthew frowned as realization slowly settled over him.

Months earlier, Pulse had accepted an invitation to perform at a charity concert for elderly citizens in a provincial community. It wasn’t a commercial event or a sponsored performance.

It had been organized by several charitable foundations, and more importantly, Chris himself had personally volunteered to participate.

Matthew let out a quiet sigh.

"It can’t be cancelled."

Robin nodded.

"The organizers have already announced Pulse’s appearance."

"They’ve been preparing for months."

Matthew shifted his attention to the Prada schedule lying beside it.

Both events were happening at exactly the same time.

Chris couldn’t possibly be in two places at once.

Later that morning, the production team gathered in one of the company’s conference rooms. Chris looked genuinely apologetic as representatives from Prada, photographers, stylists, and company executives took their seats around the table.

"I’m sorry."

The Prada representative smiled professionally.

"We understand."

She hesitated.

"But... the campaign has to continue."

The creative director nodded in agreement.

"We’ve already booked the locations, the photographers, the production crew, and the supporting models."

He spread his hands helplessly.

"Postponing everything would cost millions."

Silence settled over the room.

No one had an immediate solution.

Then—

The conference room door opened.

Carl De Vera walked inside.

"I heard there was a scheduling problem."

Chris’s brows immediately furrowed.

He hadn’t invited Carl.

Neither had Robin.

Carl smiled politely as though his appearance were perfectly natural.

"I hope I’m not interrupting."

Matthew answered cautiously.

"No."

"What is it?"

Carl looked toward the Prada representatives before turning his attention to Chris.

"If Mr. St. Claire won’t be available..."

He paused deliberately.

"...I’d be willing to substitute."

The room fell completely silent.

Carl continued with the same calm confidence.

"The campaign already requires someone with a similar image."

He smiled.

"I’ll even do it for free."

"I just want to help the company."

No one spoke.

Objectively...

The proposal sounded reasonable.

Almost...

Too reasonable.

The Prada representatives exchanged uncertain glances.

One of them finally admitted,

"The resemblance would certainly help preserve the campaign’s concept."

Another slowly nodded.

"From a distance, they even have similar proportions."

Robin quietly turned toward Chris.

Chris’s expression revealed absolutely nothing.

Across the table, Liliana remained unusually quiet. She wasn’t looking at the representatives or the storyboard anymore.

She was watching Carl.

Carefully.

One memory after another surfaced in her mind.

The copied hairstyle, the clothes, the gestures, the blue contact lenses, knowing her favorite drink, always appearing wherever she happened to be.

And now, replacing Chris.

No.

None of this felt like coincidence anymore. Something was terribly wrong.

The meeting ended without reaching a decision. The Prada representatives requested an hour to discuss possible alternatives, and everyone slowly filed out of the conference room.

As they walked into the hallway, Liliana quietly touched Mary’s arm.

"Can we talk?"

Mary immediately noticed the seriousness in her expression.

"Of course."

The two women entered Mary’s office, closing the door behind them. For several moments, Liliana simply stood there in silence before finally gathering the courage to speak.

"I won’t do it."

Mary blinked.

"The campaign?"

Liliana nodded.

"I won’t shoot it with another man."

Mary opened the storyboard lying on her desk and quietly flipped through its pages.

"Lily..."

"This campaign isn’t just holding hands."

Liliana nodded.

"I know."

She had studied the concept herself.

A romantic couple with gentle embraces, forehead touches.

A slow dance beneath city lights. One scene where the male lead brushed her hair away from her face.

Another where he wrapped an arm around her waist while gazing into her eyes.

Nothing inappropriate. But undeniably intimate.

Mary closed the storyboard.

"You don’t want another man doing those scenes."

Liliana slowly shook her head.

"I can’t."

Mary studied her for several long seconds before smiling softly.

"I honestly expected this."

Liliana looked surprised.

"You did?"

Mary laughed quietly.

"You’ve been married for five years."

She paused before correcting herself with a knowing smile.

"...Emotionally."

Liliana’s face instantly turned bright red.

Mary gently closed the storyboard.

"Whether the public knows the truth or not..."

She looked directly at Liliana.

"...those scenes belong to Chris."

Silence filled the office.

Then Liliana quietly nodded.

"I know I’m probably being unreasonable."

Mary immediately shook her head.

"No."

Without another word, she reached for the phone on her desk.

"I’ll call Prada."

An hour later, the decision became official.

Prada announced that the campaign would be postponed until Chris became available.

No substitute would be used.

The luxury brand fully respected Liliana’s decision.

Unfortunately...

The internet didn’t.

Within minutes, entertainment pages flooded social media with breaking news.

BREAKING: LILIANA STERLING REFUSES TO CONTINUE PRADA CAMPAIGN AFTER CHRIS ST. CLAIRE’S ABSENCE.

Another headline quickly followed.

NEW MODEL DECLINES TO WORK WITH REPLACEMENT MALE LEAD.

Then another.

IS LILIANA BEING UNPROFESSIONAL?

Social media immediately split into two opposing sides.

"She’s just a rookie."

"Who does she think she is?"

"A luxury brand adjusted its schedule because of her?"

"That’s incredibly unprofessional."

"Models should be able to work with anyone."

"She’s letting her personal feelings affect business."

Others defended her just as passionately.

"Prada agreed with her."

"If the client isn’t upset, why is everyone else?"

"She didn’t break her contract."

"People are criticizing her for having boundaries?"

Inside the modeling department, the debate continued throughout the afternoon. Some trainees openly criticized her decision, while others argued that she had every right to refuse a concept that made her uncomfortable.

Meanwhile, Chris returned from rehearsals for the charity concert.

Robin quietly handed him a tablet.

"You should see this."

Chris read the headlines in silence.

His expression gradually darkened.

"They’re attacking her again."

Robin nodded.

"She refused because of the intimate scenes."

Chris didn’t answer.

Instead, he looked through the glass wall toward the training hall, where Liliana continued practicing as though nothing had happened. She hadn’t posted a single explanation online. She hadn’t defended herself. She hadn’t argued with anyone.

She simply accepted the criticism. The same way she always had.

A memory suddenly resurfaced in Chris’s mind.

Years ago, Liliana had quietly told him something he had never forgotten.

"If protecting someone you love means people misunderstand you... then maybe that’s a small price to pay."

Back then...

She had been talking about keeping their marriage a secret.

Now...

She was doing exactly the same thing.

Only this time, she was protecting him all over again.

Chris slowly clenched his fists. Not because of the headlines. Not because of the criticism. But because, for the first time, he truly realized something.

For five years, Liliana had always been the one making sacrifices.

And he was beginning to wonder...

How much longer he could allow that to continue.
