The playful atmosphere from the morning gradually faded as everyone gathered inside Chris’ private meeting room.

The laughter outside Liliana’s suite had eased the awkwardness, but beneath everyone’s smiles remained an important question that could no longer be ignored.

Matthew sat at the head of the table. Beside him was Amanda. Chris and Liliana sat next to each other. Robin was standing behind them.

Only Emily, Mary and Nathan were present among the Sterling cousins. But the members of Pulse were all present.

This time, neither of them tried to hide the quiet affection in their eyes.

Matthew folded his hands together.

"I’m really glad that everything is settled between you two. But I think it’s time we discuss what comes next."

The room immediately became solemn.

Chris glanced at Liliana before speaking.

"I’ve been thinking about this since yesterday."

He took a slow breath. Then Chris continued calmly.

"I don’t want Lily to keep carrying this burden because of me. I don’t want our marriage to remain hidden if it’s only protecting my career."

He turned toward her.

"If you’re willing... I want us to announce everything."

Liliana listened quietly before shaking her head.

"No."

Chris blinked. "No?"

She smiled gently.

"I don’t want our marriage to become public."

Several people looked at one another in surprise.

Emily frowned.

"Lily... I thought you already decided to reveal everything during the press conference."

Liliana nodded.

"I did. Before the interview began... I had already agreed."

Everyone listened carefully.

"But..." She lowered her eyes. "When I stood in front of those cameras, my feelings changed."

Chris looked at her in confusion.

Liliana reached for his hand.

"I suddenly realized something. Our marriage..."

She smiled softly.

"...is the only thing in this world that belongs only to us."

"There are cameras following us. People discussing our lives. Articles analyzing our every smile and every expression." She paused.

"My career. Your career. Even our families. So many things already belong to the public."

She squeezed his hand gently.

"I don’t want our marriage to become another headline. I want at least one part of our lives to remain ours."

The room fell silent.

Liliana looked directly at everyone. "I’m not hiding because I’m afraid. I’m not ashamed of being Chris’s wife. I simply treasure what we have."

Chris stared at her quietly.

She continued. "I also want everyone here to understand something clearly."

She looked toward Emily, Matthew, and the others.

"During the press conference, Chris had nothing to do with my decision. I never told him. He honestly believed we were going to reveal our marriage. When I changed my mind during the interview, it was my choice alone."

She smiled at him. "He didn’t pressure me. He didn’t ask me to hide. He didn’t even know, I was going to change my statement."

Chris lowered his eyes.

He remembered how shocked he had been that day. Everything she said was true.

Matthew slowly nodded. "Thank you for making that clear."

Amanda smiled gently. "I think people should know Chris respected your decision from the beginning."

Chris looked at Liliana.

"If keeping our marriage private makes you happy, then I’ll respect that."

She smiled warmly.

"Thank you."

A few moments later, Emily stood from her chair.

She looked directly at Chris. "I owe you an apology."

Chris looked surprised. "For what?"

Emily smiled awkwardly. "I called you a coward."

Aaron quietly coughed. River looked away, trying not to smile.

Emily sighed.

"I was angry. I thought you kept hiding behind excuses. I judged you too quickly."

Chris shook his head.

"You don’t have to apologize. I deserved those words."

Emily blinked.

Chris laughed softly.

"When you called me selfish, it hurt. But, it also forced me to face the truth."

He smiled gratefully.

"I realized I had been thinking more about my fears than Lily’s feelings. If you hadn’t said those things, I might still be running away."

Emily smiled.

"So, we’re alright?"

Chris nodded.

"We’re more than alright. You helped save my marriage."

Emily laughed before giving him a light punch on the shoulder.

"I’ll pretend that sounded less dramatic."

The room filled with quiet laughter.

Nathan leaned forward. "I have one concern."

Everyone looked toward him.

"What happens if someone discovers the marriage anyway?"

The cheerful atmosphere immediately disappeared.

It was a realistic question.

Robin crossed his arms. "The media never gives up."

Aaron nodded. "If one photograph leaks, everything changes."

Matthew looked toward Chris.

"What will you do?"

Chris answered without hesitation.

"I’ll protect my wife."

His voice was calm. Steady. Certain.

"I spent years protecting my career. If the truth comes out someday, my priority will be Lily. No matter what happens."

He looked at Liliana.

"I won’t let her face it alone."

Liliana’s eyes softened. Then she quietly spoke.

"If that day ever comes..."

Everyone turned toward her.

"I’ll make my own decision."

She smiled peacefully.

"If protecting Chris means leaving the entertainment industry again, I’ll do it."

Emily immediately frowned.

"Lily..."

She gently shook her head.

"I’ve done it before. And I’d gladly do it again."

Chris stared at her.

"Lily..."

She looked at him with unwavering certainty.

"Your dream has always mattered to me. When we got married, I chose to support it. I’ve never regretted that choice."

She smiled tenderly.

"If becoming a housewife again is what protects your future, I’ll happily return to that life. Because..."

She intertwined her fingers with his.

"...your dream is my dream too."

Chris felt his throat tighten.

He immediately shook his head.

"No."

Everyone looked toward him.

He held Liliana’s hands firmly.

"I’ll never ask you to give up your dreams again. You’ve sacrificed enough. If anyone has to fight, it’ll be both of us."

He smiled.

"Together."

Liliana’s eyes became misty.

A warm smile slowly spread across her face.

She nodded then whispered. "Together."

Matthew watched the couple quietly before smiling with satisfaction.

Five years earlier, they had entered marriage believing it was built upon obligation.

Now, they understood its true foundation. Not sacrifice alone or responsibility. Not family promises.

But two people choosing each other every single day. Whether in the spotlight or far away from it.
