My Kingdom Building Done Right!
Chapter 290: The Beginning Of The End [Part 5]Leone’s counterattack was so strong that it lifted the monster’s body off the ground.
However, he wasn’t done just yet.
With his subconscious doing all the work, the young man’s next move flowed smoothly as if his body and mind had already anticipated this outcome while preparing his next move.
Leone stomped his foot once again, creating a five-meter thick wall that appeared behind the Ogre Warlord, stopping it from falling down to the ground.
A second later, three more walls emerged, completely trapping the monster from all sides.
Since the walls were pressing on the Ogre too tightly, it couldn’t muster its strength, let alone break free from its prison.
Not to mention, the walls were extremely thick. The tight space also didn’t allow it to move its arms or legs, which when free could’ve helped it escape from its situation.
Because of that, the only thing it could move was its head, which was poking out from the wall.
Though it was then that the Ogre Warlord saw it.
The young man was looking down at it while standing on a stone pillar.
The two looked at each other for a few seconds before the stone pillar grew higher, sending Leone to greater heights.
Fifty meters...
A hundred meters...
Two hundred meters...
Four hundred meters...
Five hundred meters...
From that height, Leone waved his hand, causing several stone platforms to spread outward, covering a portion of the battlefield with the stone pillar at its center.
Hagen, Malik, and a few other warriors watched in disbelief as Leone built a tower of stone that was sixty meters tall and twenty meters thick.
Though, if one looked closely, they would notice that this tower was built upside down.
Its pointed edge was positioned right above the Ogre Warlord, whose roars were now filled with frustration... and a hint of fear.
Leone looked down at the monster from above before snapping his fingers.
"Die," Leone muttered in a cold voice bereft of emotion.
Soon, the stone platform beneath the tower collapsed. And with it, the tower fell to the ground like a puppet whose strings had been cut.
The Ogre Warlord could only watch helplessly as this tower fell from above, unable to do anything about it.
When the stone tower was only two meters away from the Ogre’s body, the stone walls that held it in place shattered into pieces.
A few seconds later, a deafening crash echoed across the battlefield as the colossal tower crashed against the Ogre Warlord.
The impact shook the entire mountain, sending a violent shockwave in every direction.
A massive cloud of dust also rose up from the point of impact, while a wall appeared before Tianna and Jason, shielding them from the shockwave and flying debris that swept across the battlefield like a storm.
The tower then collapsed and fell on the monsters that had been stunned by the impact, crushing them under its weight.
Godwin, Hagen, and Malik could only look at this scene in disbelief.
Still standing on the stone pillar like a God looking down upon the world, Leone once again waved his hand.
Without a trace of emotion on his face, the young man slowly raised his hand.
A second later, dozens of massive stone slabs, each six to seven meters wide, emerged high above the battlefield, suspended in midair like floating islands.
For a brief moment, time seemed to have come to a complete stop as everyone’s gazes landed on the young man standing on top of that stone pillar.
Then, from that frozen world emerged a sound.
The sound of Leone snapping his fingers for a second time.
It was as if he had just ordered time to return to its normal state—the giant stone slabs fell from the sky, crushing the monsters unfortunate enough to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
But it was then that the grimoire strapped around Leone’s waist glowed faintly.
"Snap out of it, Leone!" Daedalus shouted directly inside the young man’s head.
At that moment, blood was already streaming down from the young man’s nose because his body and mind had gone into overdrive.
Although everything he did seemed easy, it was actually not that simple.
The normal human mind couldn’t possibly process all of those commands in an instant.
Leone building and manifesting those stone slabs while placing them on precise locations where they wouldn’t hit his allies demanded accurate calculations.
Calculations that took a toll on both his mind and his body.
However, there was one problem.
When Leone was under a state of self-hypnosis, he would only stop when his body could either no longer take the load of his order, was damaged beyond repair, or had completed his mission.
Of course, Daedalus had no intention of letting him enter that point of no return.
It unstrapped itself and smacked the back of its Master’s head, snapping him out of his self-hypnosis.
Leone, who had to bear the brunt of the aftermath of what he had done, was soon knocked unconscious by the flood of information that stormed inside his brain.
Seeing that, Brann momentarily stopped attacking the Monster King and prioritized saving Leone.
He then caught the young man safely in his arms before flying toward Kael, so the shaman could protect their unconscious chieftain.
However, when Boris, who had merged with Brann, saw Astravor’s crumpled body on the ground, the fusion between it and its partner was broken.
The Raptor Sovereign appeared beside the fallen Gryphon and nudged its head in an attempt to wake it up.
But Astravor wasn’t reacting.
In fact, the Raptor Sovereign couldn’t even sense any sign that it was alive.
Brann, who had been forcefully separated from its partner, soon landed beside the Raptor, who was determined to wake up its rival.
Brann then winced when he saw Astravor’s legs, which had been stomped by the Ogre Warlord.
It was completely broken and flattened.
The ground beneath the Gryphon’s body was dyed with blood. After seeing not a single inch of untainted ground, the barbarian understood that Astravor had lost a lot of blood.
Boris roared directly at Astravor’s ear, hoping it would be enough to make it react. But still, nothing happened.
"Boris... that’s enough," Brann said solemnly. "Astravor is gone."
The Raptor Sovereign was an apex predator.
It could tell if someone was dead or was simply playing dead.
Astravor showed no movement or response. Yet, the incredibly faint heartbeat similar to a candle about to burn the rest of its wick was still there.
But even so, the Raptor Sovereign knew that it was already too late.
With a roar filled with grief and indignation of losing its friend and rival, Boris’ eyes turned red as blood.
Brann suddenly felt bloodlust wash over his senses, making him unable to control himself.
Then, black flames began to wrap around the warrior’s body, enveloping him in a black cocoon.
A second later, the cocoon hatched. From it emerged a black phoenix that flew toward the sky.
Boris roared, to which the Phoenix screeched to answer its call.
It flew toward the Raptor Sovereign and fused with it.
Soon, black draconic flames erupted from the Raptor Sovereign’s back.
Boris’ body grew two times larger after the fusion, entirely covered in black flames.
A black dragon covered in black flames roared in rage before taking flight.
Its roar shook the entire mountain, stopping the monster army in its tracks. It had unleashed Dragon Fear, driving the monsters that heard it berserk.
These monsters then began to rampage, attacking both friends and foes that were within striking range.
Because of this, the battlefield once again turned chaotic. While this was happening, the Black Dragon locked its gaze onto the Bronze Dragon before taking flight.
It rejoined the battle in the sky with one mission, and one mission only.
Avenge its friend by feasting on the Bronze Dragon’s flesh and blood until nothing was left!
